Monday, May 31st. Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

"God sent His Son on a mission."
Today, as you celebrate Memorial Day, remember not only those who serve in the military and those who have served in our armed services and the ones who have given the ultimate sacrifice of their lives, but also remember the families of these folks. These folks have someone from their family who is on a mission. God knows what that one has gone through and/or what that one is going through.

God sent His Son that whosoever believeth in Him might have everlasting life (John 3:16). Thank someone today whose family member is on a mission to protect our freedom, and indeed, thank God for sending His Son to make us free.

"God, thank You for sending Your Son on a mission for me.
Amen."

Here is some classic progressive racial stereotyping...

... and from the MSM we will hear not a peep
or sound uttered.

Let's see... if Glen Beck would have said this...

Real Clear Politics
HBO's Bill Maher: "I thought when we elected a black president, we were going to get a black president. You know, this [BP oil spill] is where I want a real black president. I want him in a meeting with the BP CEOs, you know, where he lifts up his shirt where you can see the gun in his pants. That's -- (in black man voice) 'we've got a motherfu**ing problem here?' Shoot somebody in the foot."

Just have to love double standards.

“Meditation is to the sermon what the harrow is to the seed—it covers those truths which else might have been picked or washed away.”
(Unknown)

To take time to ponder a lesson or verse of scripture serves to embed it into your heart and mind. As a result it helps to become a part of who we are and develops our character to help mold us into the person our Heavenly Father wants us to be.

The apostle Paul gave this chare to his younger charge Timothy,
“Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.” (1Timothy 4:15)

"God, Let Your words drip into our heart to mold me into the servant You need me to be.
Amen."

My Father died today.

He was born in 1930 while his "father" was in prison... had been for a couple of years... so... his prison father... wasn't his father.

His relatives were very active church members in those days... the kind that are right about everything... unlike those of us today who truly are! ;-) ... and because of his illegitimate status grew up being called "Little Bastard" by his relatives.

He grew up hating Christians as a result... or I should say... he grew up wounded by those Christian.

His life was pretty much spent wounding those closest to him as a result... it was a sad life... and Our Father... finally took my father home this morning.

Dad Loved God, and Jesus... he really did...

"See you later Dad. I loved you."

Six Names Added to Vietnam Veterans Memorial... in time for Memorial Day.

God Bless those who paid all... and their dear families who continue to live with their loss.

Military dot com
WASHINGTON, May 4, 2010 - This week, the names of six American servicemembers will join the list of other departed or missing troops featured on the intersecting black-granite walls of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

Expert stoneworker James Lee cleans the work after engraving the name of U.S. Army Lt. Col. Taylor to Panel 7W, Line 81 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., May 4, 2010. Taylor's name is one of six added to the memorial. The new names represent veterans who survived serious injury in the war, but were determined by Defense Department officials to have died as a result of wounds sustained in the combat zone. DoD photo by William D. Moss.

Army Lt. Col. William Taylor's name was engraved at a ceremony today at the memorial on the National Mall here. The names of Marine Corps Lance Cpls. John Granville and Clayton Hough Jr., Marine Corps Cpl. Ronald Vivona, Army Capt. Edward Miles and Army Sgt. Michael Morehouse will be added later this week....

Take a little time to read the article... and do remember our fallen warriors this Memorial Day... celebration.

"The stronger and deeper the roots, the less visible they are."
Charles R. Swindoll (1934–)

When your faith runs deep you will not have to wear your Christianity on your hat or pocket, the world will see by your character that you are a child of The King. Jeremiah 17:7-8 tells us,
“Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.”

"God, Thank You for those cool refreshing, living waters.

The Chaplain's Corner

Guest blogger, Chaplain Paul, is one of the most effective chaplains in America today. He is an emergency responder to every situation.

Hey, this is the Chaplain again and I have a question; what happened to Memorial Day?

I was watching TV and the announcer said, “Monday is Memorial Day, remember to have a good time.” A little latter there was a commercial about the big ‘Memorial Day Sale at _____.’ What’s happened to Memorial Day?

It originated as Decoration Day in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. It was a day set aside to remember and be grateful for the sacrifices that paid for our freedom. To honor those American soldiers, over 654,000 according to the DoD, who have died in battle. In observance of the holiday, many people visited cemeteries and memorials, and volunteers often placed American flags on each grave site at national cemeteries.

In the past we observed a national moment of remembrance at 3:00 p.m. local time to pause and pray. I think we should still do that, pause to remember the 654,000 + men and women who have died in battle protecting this nation. They died so that we can live free in this great country.

Please remember it’s more than big sales and trips to the beach. Blood has been spilt. Great sacrifice has been made. It seems the least we could do is pause to remember, remember and be grateful.

There are at least two spiritual applications to this. First, the Church is built on the bloody bodies of the martyrs. As Christians living in America we have it made. Our faith cost us very little. But that is not always the case. In Rev. 6:9 we read,
“When the Lamb opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of everyone who had been killed for speaking God's message and telling about their faith.”
This year, 2010, millions of Christians around the world will be persecuted, thousands will die simple because they claim the name of Christ.

The second spiritual application is; Jesus Christ gave up His life for us. So just as we put flags and flowers on the graves of our fallen war heroes – we should
“…offer our bodies as living sacrifices holy and pleasing to God, which is your reasonable service.” (Romans 12:1)
May I remind you on Memorial Day to pause and remember what your freedom cost – both on an earthly and eternal plane. To remember and be grateful!

Friday, May 28th. Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

“The heavens are as deep as our aspirations are high.”
Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

I have heard shallow men and women wonder what we people will do for an eternity in heaven. They bore easily here on earth and can’t begin to comprehend what it will be like in the eternal realm. The truth is found in 1Corinthians 2:9,
“Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”
The sad thing is many will not be there, and to comprehend their fate is even more disturbing. In Matthew 7:23-27 Jesus gives this account,
“I will profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.”

"God, Thank You for being The Way.
Amen."

God has need of your gifting. There are some things only you may be able to do. There may be someone who only you can touch. Lay your all on His alter today to let Him work through you. The writer of Philippians 2:8 spoke of Jesus as He did what only He could do and what was necessary for us with these words,
“And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”

"God, I am willing to live for You.

Let us first take a look at the legal definition of TREASON.

The Lectric Law Library's Lexicon
This word imports a betraying, treachery, or breach of allegiance.

The Constitution of the United States, Art. III, defines treason against the United States to consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid or comfort. This offence is punished with death....
Next... consider the following article about what some Red Cross workers are doing in Afghanistan...

Washington Times

Taliban learning first aid from Red Cross workers

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has been providing medical training to members of the Taliban, including some high-ranking combatants, in Afghanistan.

The humanitarian group says in a recent report that it provided first-aid training and first-aid kits to more than 70 "members of the armed opposition" in April.

Christian Cardon, a Geneva-based spokesman for ICRC, said in a phone interview that a wide range of Taliban fighters, including some senior-level militants, received such training.

Combatants of varying ranks attend these camps, but it is important to have "high-rank people also so they can at least transmit this knowledge to other combatants," he said....

Mr. Cardon said the Afghan government and police are aware of activities at the camps and that assistance is provided in a transparent manner. He said the camps "precisely illustrate the core mandate of the ICRC — to give assistance to people wounded during a war.".....

... Therefore... by the constitutional and legal definition of treason... the International Red Cross is committing treason against America and her coalition forces fighting in Afghanistan.

To go into our enemy's camp and provide both training and materials for first aid to fighters preparing to kill our servicemen and servicewomen... and training to kill as many innocent civilians of their own people as they can on the streets of their own cities is... a logic that defies reason.

In other words... this is treason.

Nice touch going into Memorial Day.

Day 78
Yahweh

For Whose Glory?

"Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, today let it be known that You are God in Israel and I am Your servant, and that at Your word I have done all these things. Answer me, Lord! Answer me so that this people will know that You, Yahweh, are God and that You have turned their hearts back."

Then Yahweh's fire fell and consumed the burnt offering, the wood, the stones, and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench. When all the people saw it, they fell facedown and said, "Yahweh, He is God! Yahweh, He is God!"

1Kings 18:36-39 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

Let's think a moment about the water poured all over the altar, etc.

The task seemed of course... impossible... and for man... it would be.

This is exactly where Yahweh enjoys demonstrating His reality... in our impossibilities.

So... where does Yahweh have you... what is your "unable" challenge that is going to demonstrate to a skeptical world that Yahweh is God?

We must get our focus on Yahweh... on His purposes for His own reputation... and that we are His... and He will use us for His own glory.

The self-seeking glory hounds of religion know not this God.

From the Military dot com site we have this little study about the history behind our Memorial Day celebration.

The History of Memorial Day

Three years after the Civil War ended, on May 5, 1868, the head of an organization of Union veterans — the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) — established Decoration Day as a time for the nation to decorate the graves of the war dead with flowers. Maj. Gen. John A. Logan declared that Decoration Day should be observed on May 30. It is believed that date was chosen because flowers would be in bloom all over the country.

The first large observance was held that year at Arlington National Cemetery, across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C.

The ceremonies centered around the mourning-draped veranda of the Arlington mansion, once the home of Gen. Robert E. Lee. Various Washington officials, including Gen. and Mrs. Ulysses S. Grant, presided over the ceremonies. After speeches, children from the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Orphan Home and members of the GAR made their way through the cemetery, strewing flowers on both Union and Confederate graves, reciting prayers and singing hymns.

Local Observances Claim To Be First

Local springtime tributes to the Civil War dead already had been held in various places. One of the first occurred in Columbus, Miss., April 25, 1866, when a group of women visited a cemetery to decorate the graves of Confederate soldiers who had fallen in battle at Shiloh. Nearby were the graves of Union soldiers, neglected because they were the enemy. Disturbed at the sight of the bare graves, the women placed some of their flowers on those graves, as well.

Today, cities in the North and the South claim to be the birthplace of Memorial Day in 1866. Both Macon and Columbus, Ga., claim the title, as well as Richmond, Va. The village of Boalsburg, Pa., claims it began there two years earlier. A stone in a Carbondale, Ill., cemetery carries the statement that the first Decoration Day ceremony took place there on April 29, 1866. Carbondale was the wartime home of Gen. Logan. Approximately 25 places have been named in connection with the origin of Memorial Day, many of them in the South where most of the war dead were buried.

Official Birthplace Declared

In 1966, Congress and President Lyndon Johnson declared Waterloo, N.Y., the “birthplace” of Memorial Day. There, a ceremony on May 5, 1866, honored local veterans who had fought in the Civil War. Businesses closed and residents flew flags at half-staff. Supporters of Waterloo’s claim say earlier observances in other places were either informal, not community-wide or one-time events.

By the end of the 19th century, Memorial Day ceremonies were being held on May 30 throughout the nation. State legislatures passed proclamations designating the day, and the Army and Navy adopted regulations for proper observance at their facilities.

It was not until after World War I, however, that the day was expanded to honor those who have died in all American wars. In 1971, Memorial Day was declared a national holiday by an act of Congress, though it is still often called Decoration Day. It was then also placed on the last Monday in May, as were some other federal holidays.

Some States Have Confederate Observances

Many Southern states also have their own days for honoring the Confederate dead. Mississippi celebrates Confederate Memorial Day on the last Monday of April, Alabama on the fourth Monday of April, and Georgia on April 26. North and South Carolina observe it on May 10, Louisiana on June 3 and Tennessee calls that date Confederate Decoration Day. Texas celebrates Confederate Heroes Day January 19 and Virginia calls the last Monday in May Confederate Memorial Day.

Gen. Logan’s order for his posts to decorate graves in 1868 “with the choicest flowers of springtime” urged: “We should guard their graves with sacred vigilance. ... Let pleasant paths invite the coming and going of reverent visitors and fond mourners. Let no neglect, no ravages of time, testify to the present or to the coming generations that we have forgotten as a people the cost of a free and undivided republic.”

The crowd attending the first Memorial Day ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery was approximately the same size as those that attend today’s observance, about 5,000 people. Then, as now, small American flags were placed on each grave — a tradition followed at many national cemeteries today. In recent years, the custom has grown in many families to decorate the graves of all departed loved ones.

The origins of special services to honor those who die in war can be found in antiquity. The Athenian leader Pericles offered a tribute to the fallen heroes of the Peloponnesian War over 24 centuries ago that could be applied today to the 1.1 million Americans who have died in the nation’s wars: “Not only are they commemorated by columns and inscriptions, but there dwells also an unwritten memorial of them, graven not on stone but in the hearts of men.”

To ensure the sacrifices of America ’s fallen heroes are never forgotten, in December 2000, the U.S. Congress passed and the president signed into law “The National Moment of Remembrance Act,” P.L. 106-579, creating the White House Commission on the National Moment of Remembrance. The commission’s charter is to “encourage the people of the United States to give something back to their country, which provides them so much freedom and opportunity” by encouraging and coordinating commemorations in the United States of Memorial Day and the National Moment of Remembrance.

The National Moment of Remembrance encourages all Americans to pause wherever they are at 3 p.m. local time on Memorial Day for a minute of silence to remember and honor those who have died in service to the nation. As Moment of Remembrance founder Carmella LaSpada states: “It’s a way we can all help put the memorial back in Memorial Day.”

God Bless Americans.

Wednesday, May 26th. Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

"How far did you walk?"

As members of our church joined walking groups this spring, that question was asked many time each week. I even heard some people reflect on the fact that they did not believe they could walk that far. In listening to those comments, I remembered the word of the writer of Psalm 37:23:
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.”
Yes, God knows our first and last heartbeat and every step in-between. Because of that knowledge, we can rejoice in knowing He is in control and cares even about the trials we must go through.

"God, thank You for Your care for me.
Amen."

Day 77
Yahweh

Public Recognition

"Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, today let it be known that You are God in Israel and I am Your servant, and that at Your word I have done all these things. Answer me, Lord! Answer me so that this people will know that You, Yahweh, are God and that You have turned their hearts back."

1Kings 18:36-39 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

And, the people cried out that Yahweh is God.

A very refreshing acknowledgment... yet one that few can proclaim in our day for... few know The Name of our God.

What could most say? Something like, "The LORD... his is God!" Except that the word LORD is of course a title and not a name at all. A few might say that Jesus is God... but that leads to a triune discussion... that often leads to confusion... and is not the name of GOD anyway... Jesus is the Greek name for YahShua... not the Father God.

Some might say that Jehovah is God's name... without ever having a clue as to what the name Jehovah might mean.

My earnest prayer and desire is that when one has finished these brief studies that each and every one will be able to boldly declare that Yahweh is God... with understanding.

Tuesday, May 25th. Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

"Be virtuous and you will be eccentric."
(Mark Twain, 1835–1910)

At one time in our lives, my wife Reta and I went on a technology fast. Even though we didn’t make a big deal out of it, news traveled fast, and people began to question our sanity.

One lady in her 60’s shared (gossiped) with another: “You can’t give up the T.V. and sit around and just read your Bible; you’ll go batty!”

Some of you may agree with her that "batty" did happen, but that was not all we did; in fact, Reta and I spent many peaceful nights talking with each other. Believe it or not, as we sat conversing together, we were even surprised at how the time would get away from us.

In writing 2 Timothy 2:22-26, the apostle Paul encourages us to untangle ourselves from the world with these words:
“Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”

"God, help me to release the things of this world to gain Your will.
Amen."

Day 76
Yahweh

Appeal for an Awakening

Elijah knows that one aspect of Yahweh's power is that only God has the prerogative of turning His people's hearts back to Himself. Notice carefully the statement:
"Answer me, Lord! Answer me so that this people will know that You, Yahweh, are God and that You have turned their hearts back."
Truly... only God can turn hearts back.

As Jesus said twice in the gospel of John chapter 6:44 and 65:
"No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him.... This is why I told you that no one can come to Me unless it is granted to him by the Father."
An Awakening is the function of God's grace... and we would do well to beg Yahweh to do the same today.

It is an appeal that should be directed to God... for the glory of His Name/Reputation. As the people responded, "Yahweh... He is God!"

"Being in the right does not depend on having a loud voice."
(Unknown)

I have seen times when disagreements were settled by the quieter party remaining silent. That did not mean the one with the loudest voice was necessarily right, or to put it another way, the softest voice was necessarily wrong. We can be right and still lose the battle, but praise to Jehovah God who sees and knows all. After all, He is the one who ultimately sees all and is the One that we all must answer to in the end. The writer of Psalms 139:23-24 encourages us with these words:
"Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."
"God, may my words, yea even my thoughts, please You.

Sunday, May 23rd. Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

"Don’t expect wisdom to come into your life like great chunks of rock on a conveyor belt. It isn’t like that. It’s not splashy and bold . . . nor is it dispensed like a prescription across a counter. Wisdom comes privately from God as a by-product of right decisions, godly reactions, and the application of spiritual principles to daily circumstances.

Wisdom comes . . . not from trying to do great things for God . . . but more from being faithful to the small, obscure tasks few people ever see."

Charles R. Swindoll (1934– )

The writer of James 1:5 says,
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”
Ask God, but don’t expect Him to ‘dump’ it on it all on you at once. Enjoy His love as He drips some on you daily.

As you read the following "report" from the AP... the question arises, "What is this story really about... and why is xtnyoda pointing us to it?"

I will answer beneath... and I encourage you to go to the link and read the entire article first as well.... then come back to my comments below.

Associated Press
Pakistan detainees proud of role in NYC bomb case

By ASIF SHAHZAD and KATHY GANNON, Associated Press Writers

ISLAMABAD – Two men detained in Pakistan for alleged links to the attempted Times Square bombing have admitted playing a role in the botched attack and are unrepentant, with one angrily accusing interrogators of "siding with the infidels," a senior intelligence official said Saturday.

The pair are among six men officials say have been detained in Pakistan for alleged ties to Faisal Shahzad, a Pakistani-American arrested in the United States two days after the failed May 1 attack in New York. Like Shahzad, the detainees are all members of their country's urban elite, including several who were educated in the United States......

First... the meaning behind the title of the article that states that the Pakistan detainees are still proud of their roles in the NYC bomb case.

That the Pakistan detainees are proud of their role is a major "news" item... says volumes about the MSM. The MSM obviously... expected... the detainees to be ashamed of their role... so the MSM is shocked that they are actually proud... therefore this is front page news worthy.

Contrast that with the way a conservative would title the report...
"Pakistan detainees should be handed over to the US Military to stand trial for attempting to kill Americans in the failed May 1 attack in New York."
Do you see the difference in the approach and world view between the MSM and a conservative?

Next... the second statement of "shock" to the MSM is in the first sentence of the report that says the Pakistan detainees are not "repentant." What are we to make of this?

The answer is in the progressive's Dream World View that if someone actually does something... evil... like trying to kill innocent humans... (and for a progressive... about the only real evil that can be committed is being a... conservative...) then they will obviously come to a place of regretting what they did or attempted to do with just a little more information or education.... therefore when the murderous detainees show no signs of repentance the MSM is shocked... and this is therefore front page news.

The progressives believe that humans are basically good... and just can't come to grips with the reality that a human can be truly evil in nature.

This is why the AP's news report... is news to the MSM.

The Chaplain's Corner

Guest blogger, Chaplain Paul, is one of the most effective chaplains in America today. He is an emergency responder to every situation.

Hey, this is the Chaplain again.

We have a beautiful yard because my wife, Blossom, works very hard to make it that way. She and the Lord are partners in this endeavor and they do very well together; I appreciate them both. There are lots of flowers, bushes of every kind and an assortment of various fruit trees.

Lots of birds find their way into our yard and I really enjoy watching them. Some of the birds like to use our yard as a nursery. In one of the bushes out front there is a Robin’s nest that I have been watching. Recently we have had some terrible storms: lighting, thunder, wind, and hail – but no matter what the weather the mother Robin sits on the nest to cover and protect her little ones.

That reminds me of Jesus. In Mat. 23:37, He said,
“How often would I have gathered your children together as a mother fowl gathers her brood under her wings, and you refused!”
It seems to me that sometimes baby birds have better sense than some people.

Why are we so anxious to get out from under His care? Why do we struggle so hard to get away from Him? How many times do we have to fail before we realize that He is the one, the only one, we really need?

The difference between that mother bird and the Lord is; He allows us to make the decision as to whether or not we will stay under His protection, or go off on our own. We read in John 6:67-68 that on one occasion Jesus asked the disciples if they wanted to leave. Peter said, “Master, to whom would we go? You have the words of real life, eternal life.”

There was another bird’s nest in our yard, in a pear tree out back. Those little ones did not stay in the nest and we found them dead on the ground . . .

"God made the perfect and complete instrument: the human voice. It gives you personality, individuality, words, and music all in one vehicle."
(Harry Verploegh, 1908–? )

Even as beautiful as is a well-orchestrated concert, nothing resonates with the human heart as does hearing the voice of a loved one, a friend, or a relative. Our voices can cheer someone and inspire someone like nothing else in this world can do.

God loves to hear His children praising Him. We must not forget to give Him praise daily. The writer of Psalm 109:30 gives us these words to encourage us to use our voices to praise God:
“I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.”

"God, I love You and praise Your Holy Name.

Officers killed in West Memphis

The bloodiest day for area law enforcement officials began with routine-sounding radio broadcasts that West Memphis Police Chief Bob Paudert and his wife heard from their car.

One was from their son, Sgt. Brandon Paudert, reporting that he was providing backup for a traffic stop on Interstate 40.... Moments later, however, came a chilling transmission: "Officer down."

The elder Paudert rushed to the scene to find his 39-year-old son, a seven-year veteran with the West Memphis force, lying dead on the pavement, shot in the head and neck, still gripping his service weapon.

That sequence, confirmed by a law enforcement source, ushered in 90 minutes of horror and chaos Thursday that left two West Memphis police officers dead and the two top officers with the Crittenden County Sheriff's Department wounded.

The two suspects also were killed. Authorities declined to identify them....

"Devotion is not a thing that passes, that comes and goes, as it were, but it is something habitual, fixed, permanent that extends over every instant of life and regulates all our conduct."
(Douglas V. Steere, 1901– 1995)

To be devoted is a trait that must find its way back into our culture. Our society has been blown by every fad that comes along, and our politicians bend with every poll that comes down the pipe. We must rise up and be individuals who can be counted on to do what is right in the eyes of the Lord. Let us strive to live by these words found in James 5:12:
“Let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.”

"God, my devotion to You must grow deeper daily, lest I drift from Your presence. Amen."

Day 75
Yahweh

Validating His Word

Elijah appeals to God to uphold the Veracity of the Word/Message that He had given to Elijah.

Yahweh is very concerned about validating His Word. It is paramount to upholding the veracity of His Name... for if His Word cannot be trusted then His reputation/Name is tarnished.

Learn to appeal to Yahweh to uphold the veracity/validity of His Spoken Word.

In your situation... what is the tie to God's Word? That is where your appeal is to be focused.

Thursday, May 20th. Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

"God will take nine steps toward us, but he will not take the tenth. He will incline us to repent, but he cannot do our repenting for us."
A. W. Tozer (1897–1963)

When we find ourselves away from God we look around and realize God has not moved, but it is us who have wondered from His presence. Just as quickly He meets us when we just return the slightest bit toward Him. Jesus shares the picture of His Father in the story of the prodigals return in Luke 15: 20 with these words,
“When he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.”

Turn to Him, He is running to you.

"God, Thanks for meeting me more than halfway.
Amen."

We've finally discovered that Al Gore was actually Tiny Tim in his former existence... and this video proves it.

Here we see young Al (acting as Tiny Tim) trying to terrify little children with the lie that the ice caps are melting... the tides are rising... we are all going to be drowning... and of course it is all because of our sin. (Following are the actual words.)
'The ice caps are melting, ho ho ho ho ho'
All the world is drowning, ho ho ho ho ho'
The ice caps are melting, the tide is rushing in,
all the world is drowning to wash away the sin'

So... if you were wondering what Ol' Al was doing back in the 60's... here it is.

Day 74
Yahweh

Honors/Defends His Name

"Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, today let it be known that You are God in Israel and I am Your servant, and that at Your word I have done all these things. Answer me, Lord! Answer me so that this people will know that You, Yahweh, are God and that You have turned their hearts back."

1Kings 18:36-39 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

Elijah understood appealing to Yahweh on behalf of His Name. This is the person God is looking for... the understanding required to be "Mighty in Spirit."

It could be you friend... if you dare learn.

Wednesday, May 19th. Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

"I cannot be the man I should be without times of quietness. Stillness is an essential part of our growing deeper as we grow older."
(Charles R. Swindoll, 1934– )

In all the hustle and bustle of life, reality can choke off our ability to listen and hear The Lord when He wants to speak to us; however, missing His communion with can only occur if… we let it. We must wait through the winds, fires, earthquakes...to listen for His still small voice as He whispers to us in love (I Kings 19:11-12).

"God, help me to be listening when You whisper softly to me.
Amen."

Now... it's Homeland Security Director Napolitano that makes herself an idiot by not only admitting that she hasn't read the Arizona Illegal Insurgent law... she then actually goes on to pontificate on why the law she hasn't read is bad.

Any Junior High School Student... if asked to defend a book report they had written... would have enough sense to know you shouldn't begin your defense by saying, "Well... I actually didn't read the book in detail... but... I know all about the book because of a review I read about the book... and from what other students have told me about the book."

The Junior High Teacher would stop the student right there... on the spot... and give the Junior High Student a well deserved "F"...

FOX News report
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano admitted Monday that she has not read the controversial Arizona immigration law even though she's gone on television to criticize it, and continued to assert that it was "bad law enforcement law."....

... Napolitano discussed the policy under questioning by Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., during a Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing ... "I have not reviewed it in detail. I certainly know of it," the former Arizona governor said when asked by McCain whether she had a chance to give the language a close look.

Nevertheless, Napolitano said, "That's not the kind of law I would have signed." Napolitano explained that she dealt with "laws of that ilk" in Arizona before and that most law enforcement groups were opposed to them.

"It's a bad law enforcement law," she said. "I believe it mandates and requires local law enforcement or puts them into a position many do not want to be placed in." .....

Ms. Napolitano... you have earned a resounding "F."

And... after the AG Holder stupidity event last week... by having to admit he hadn't read the bill he was threatening to file a federal lawsuit against... and you still didn't read the bill before going before a congressional committee...

Is there an F-?

Here's a fun little video from Sweden and their efforts to pacify Muslim radicals.

One just has to admire Lars Vilks for taking such strong stands for true freedom... freedom of speech.

And likewise... one must almost feel disdain for those who want to stifle free speech... yet want acceptance themselves... well... what they really want is ascendancy.

right side news
The latest in Muslim intolerance to free speech while demanding tolerance towards their faith. The full length clip shocking Lars Vilks being attacked at a University in Sweden by radical muslims simply for showing a portrayal of muhammad onscreen. This is the latest in muslim intolerance just after the recent south park episode and muhammad cartoons as of late.

When I watched this video yesterday my concern was that given Sweden's leftist deathwish, the people who will end up getting punished for this assault are the policemen who tried to restrain the Muslim students from killing Vilks.

By the way... such events are coming to an area near you.

EDIT: If you will look closely at the 30 second mark you will see the person in the orange hooded coat that is wrestling with the guards... you will see him hit himself in the face and turn away bent over. He does this to himself as the guard clearly has his arm extended just trying to hold the person away.

In other reports it was said that one of the attackers got his glasses broken... well... he did it himself... to himself... thats what these people are trained to do.

EDIT #2:
I was wrong about the above assessment... if you will notice the second officer to the right of the rioter... she clearly has some sort of a spray mechanism in her hand and sprays the rioter toward his face. He then recoils away.

Thanks to oldwolves for spotting this error on my part.

Rick at Brutally Honest has a humorous take of Ol' Al's Tennessee downer of a graduation speech...
Al Gore boosts sales of Xanax, Zoloft and Prozac

He does his level best to encourage wrist slashing at a recent University of Tennessee graduation:

Seriously folks... this is not audacity on Al's part... it is pure... delusionality. (I know... it's probably not a real word... but there are no real words to adequately describe the manic mentality of Ol' Al.)

And... if you were not a part of the graduation ceremony... you can thank your lucky stars. (If they don't melt first with the world's glaciers.)

We cannot direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails.

We know who controls the winds; therefore, we also know He can be trusted. The adjustments we make from day to day bring us to the paths where He wants us to go. In Romans 6:28, the apostle Paul reminds us:
“We know all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.”

"God, thank You for Your gentle--and sometimes not so gentle--guiding.
Amen."

Well, well, well... what have we here?

One more candy reared boy wanting to be known as a man.

"Senator Wanna-Be" Blumenthal has been lying about "serving" in Vietnam. Mr. Blumenthal... there is a BIG difference between serving "during" the Vietnam conflict... and serving "in" the Vietnam conflict... just in case you as a famous trial lawyer don't realize the difference.

I have no problem with you serving in the Marine reserves... got no problem with you doing everything in your power to stay out of Nam while in the Marine reserves... but... I have a BIG problem with you missrepresenting your service as having been "in country"... when you were never "in country."

Man up for a change and admit you lied for the sake of a sympathy vote... OK?

I mean... you want to be a man don't you?

>NY Times article
Candidate’s Words on Vietnam Service Differ From History

“We have learned something important since the days that I served in Vietnam,” Mr. Blumenthal said to the group gathered in Norwalk in March 2008. “And you exemplify it. Whatever we think about the war, whatever we call it — Afghanistan or Iraq — we owe our military men and women unconditional support.”

There was one problem: Mr. Blumenthal, a Democrat now running for the United States Senate, never served in Vietnam. He obtained at least five military deferments from 1965 to 1970 and took repeated steps that enabled him to avoid going to war, according to records....

Quite embarrissing isn't it.

Chances are pretty clear that it's not just Mexicans crossing our border and into our country illegally... Mideastern terrorists are crossing the border and into our country as well...

Real Clear Politics article
Threat On Border With Mexico: Possible Terrorists Entering US

WSB-TV reports: The U.S. Border Patrol uses choppers, ATVs and horses to patrol the 2000-mile border between the Southeastern U.S. and Mexico. Agents say most of the illegals caught crossing are from Mexico or South America. Still, they say thousands of people caught are classified as O.T.M.'s, which stands for "other than Mexican". They report that includes hundreds of people from nations that sponsor terrorism.

Channel 2 Action News anchor Justin Farmer traveled to Arizona to view a detention center near Phoenix. He viewed records that show illegals in custody from from Afghanistan, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, Sudan and Yemen.

Do you think we should be concerned about securing our border?

Day 73
Yahweh

Worthy an Altar

"Elijah took 12 stones-according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, to whom the word of the Lord had come, saying, "Israel will be your name"- and he built an altar with the stones in the name of Yahweh."
1Kings 18:31-32 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

The 12 stones representing the tribal names... built/joined/placed together in God's name.

We tend to focus on the names on the stones instead of the Name of the altar.

"When the well’s dry, we know the worth of water."
(Benjamin Franklin, 1706–1790)

To know the value of our relationship with God is not to miss one second of fellowship with Him. Jesus said,
“Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled."
(Matthew 5:6)
We need that fellowship with God in the same way that we need food, water, or air itself.

"God, You give me life. Thank You.
Amen."

Dear Nancy... Nancy... UHHHHHHH..... Nancy........ OHHHHHHHHHHH Nancy....

Is there anybody home... Hello.....

Daily Caller
Pelosi to artists: Quit your jobs, U.S. taxpayers have your health care

Nancy Pelosi spoke to musicians and the artistically inclined in Washington DC, and instead of telling those in attendance they should get a job, she brought quite a different message: they needn’t bother working, because the taxpayers of the United States would cover their health care. Perhaps channeling her San Francisco district, Pelosi explained that without a job they would be free to focus on their talents, passions and aspirations because they wouldn’t be “job locked.”

Pelosi: “We see it as an entrepreneurial bill, a bill that says to someone, if you want to be creative and be a musician or whatever, you can leave your work, focus on your talent, your skill, your passion, your aspirations because you will have health care. You won’t have to be job locked.”

Bless Nancy's heart... somebody needs to get her a mental checkup and evaluation.... in her new health care culture...

.... and somebody needs to do the same for the people that keep voting for her.

Sunday, May 16th. Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

John Newton claims, “For my own part, if my pocket was full of stones, I have no right to throw one at the greatest backslider upon the earth. I have either done as bad or worse than he, or I certainly should if the Lord had left me a little to myself; for I am made of just the same materials: if there be any difference, it is wholly of grace.”
A heart like that is able to sing John Newton’s song that most people know and to which we can all relate, “Amazing grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me.” The words of that beautiful song help us remember the words of the writer of Ephesians 2:8-9:
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is a gift of God--Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

"God, thank You for Your amazing grace.
Amen."

The Chaplain's Corner

Guest blogger, Chaplain Paul, is one of the most effective chaplains in America today. He is an emergency responder to every situation.

Hey, this is the Chaplain again.

The weather for the last few days has been unsettled and stormy around here. But even on the stormy days you can get up early in the morning, before day light and listen to the birds sing. It’s almost like they are trying to wake up the day. It’s like a cantata.

I was wondering, why do the birds sing like that so early in the morning, while it’s still dark and the storms are threatening? It’s almost as though they can’t help themselves. But then I remembered – they are just doing what God told them to do,
“Let every living, breathing creature praise God! Hallelujah!”
Psalm 150:6 (Msg.)

If only we could follow the divine directions half as well.

I remember when we lived out in the country and had a few chickens out in the yard. Early in the morning the rooster would start crowing – what in the world was that all about? Could it be Psalm 150, verse 6 again? Have you ever looked at the verses in the Bible that talk about nature praising God?
Ps. 65:13, “The meadows are covered with flocks and the valleys are mantled with grain; they shout for joy and sing.”
Ps. 69:34, “Let heaven and earth praise him, the seas and all that move in them.”
Ps. 98:8, “Let the rivers clap their hands, Let the mountains sing together for joy.”
Isa. 44:23, “Sing for joy, O heavens, for the LORD has done this; shout aloud, O earth beneath. Burst into song, you mountains, you forests and all your trees.”
Rev. 5:13, “Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: "To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!"

This is my prayer, “Oh Lord, may a song of glory burst out of me even as it does all of nature. May I ever praise You regardless of the circumstances. Amen.”

Saturday, May 15th. Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

A man planted two rose bushes on either side of his house. The bushes were equally strong and healthy, but after a time, the one grew and prospered and the other withered and died. Later, the man discovered that the living one was on the sunny side of the house.

Lesson: Live on the sunny side of the street.

More than once I have watched as two equally gifted individuals reacted differently to outside influences. I have been blessed to see some react positively to pressures and trials, while others spew bitterness and darkness sometimes under even less difficulties. The factor making the difference is The Son on the inside. We need to remember the Apostle Paul’s words in Romans 8:16:
“The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.”
Truly, our lives bear witness of The Son living within us.

"God, thank You for Your presence living in us.
Amen."

Brutally Honest

Borg Conspiracy

Despite repeatedly voicing concerns about Arizona's new immigration enforcement law in recent weeks and threatening to challenge it, Attorney General Eric Holder said Thursday he has not yet read the law -- which is only 10 pages long.

"I have not had a chance to -- I've glanced at it," Holder said at a House Judiciary Committee hearing when asked by Rep.Ted Poe, R-Texas whether Holder has read the state law cracking down on illegal immigrants.

"I'll give you my copy of it if you would like," Poe responded.

Holder told reporters last month that he fears the new law is subject to abuse and that the Justice Department and the Homeland Security Department are in the midst of conducting a review.

I think it's time to begin a nation wide campaign for all conservatives to cancel their vacation plans... then remake vacation plans... to vacation in Arizona this year... in support of the citizens of Arizona... since the progressives are trying to bankrupt and castigate the people of Arizona.

How about meeting at the Grand Canyon?

The Arkansas Supreme Court has ruled that the terrorist that killed an army soldier in cold blood and critically wounded another... is worthy of Arkansas tax payers money to pay for his private attorney.

Oh... the state sponsored public defender is not good enough for this terrorist... so... we the people of Arkansas get to pay for his private attorney since he is an indigent?

This is not simply ludicrous... this is an atrocity against the people of Arkansas as well as the people of America... as well as a slam in the face of the United States Military.

This is an outrage.

Arkansas Online article
Justices: Man held in GI case due funds

The Muslim convert facing the death penalty over the slaying of a soldier in Little Rock is entitled to state funding for his defense, the Arkansas Supreme Court ruled on Thursday in a decision that could significantly affect the operations of the Arkansas Public Defender Commission. One state legislator warned that the ruling could lead to an “open raid” on state money by unscrupulous lawyers.

The high court’s eight page decision, written by Justice Paul Danielson, upholds the January ruling by Pulaski County Circuit Judge Herb Wright that Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, as an indigent, is entitled to funding from the commission....

One of our state senators said this would amount to “an invitation for an open raid on the public treasury...”

So... now the state supreme court has in essence ruled that every indigent qualifies to have a private attorney paid for with state tax money.

This is an insult.... and you can rest assured that this ruling will be followed in other states... by terrorists... and their lawyers will laugh all the way to the bank.

Friday, May 14th. Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

"A Roman Emperor once gave a magnificent banquet, and at an agreed signal the roof opened and a shower of roses descended on the guests. It was regarded as a singularly beautiful and original proceeding, and has helped to immortalize the Emperor. But when God pours upon earth the refreshing rain, could our eyes but be opened, we should see that He pours down on field and garden, forest and plain, not only roses, but golden grain and fruit for the sustenance and delight of mankind. The King of kings is ever entertaining us at His providential banquet of blessing and beauty too."

Remember the words of the Apostle Paul as he wrote to the Ephesians in chapter 1 verses 3 and 4,
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love.”

Day 72
Yahweh

The Power of Acceptance

"Then you call on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of Yahweh. The God who answers with fire, He is God." All the people answered, "That [sounds] good."
1Kings 18:24 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

As noted earlier... fire consuming the offering was the sure evidence of Yahweh's acceptance. This is the same reality seen in Acts chapter 2 as fire falls from heaven on the disciples... the evidence of Yahweh's acceptance.

This is for every believer... we are accepted in the Messiah... there is no greater power afforded to man.
