Tuesday, May 25th. Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

"Be virtuous and you will be eccentric."
(Mark Twain, 1835–1910)

At one time in our lives, my wife Reta and I went on a technology fast. Even though we didn’t make a big deal out of it, news traveled fast, and people began to question our sanity.

One lady in her 60’s shared (gossiped) with another: “You can’t give up the T.V. and sit around and just read your Bible; you’ll go batty!”

Some of you may agree with her that "batty" did happen, but that was not all we did; in fact, Reta and I spent many peaceful nights talking with each other. Believe it or not, as we sat conversing together, we were even surprised at how the time would get away from us.

In writing 2 Timothy 2:22-26, the apostle Paul encourages us to untangle ourselves from the world with these words:
“Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”

"God, help me to release the things of this world to gain Your will.
Amen."

Bro. Bill

God loves you!
