Army Jedi's Mind-Tricking Congressmen for Money

Rolling Stone Mag. must be having some kind of a paranoid skitz moment.

Or ... perhaps they've been so spaced out for so many years that they have actually started to believe in ... the movies ... Santa Clause ... the Easter Bunny ... global warming?

The Burn Pit
Rolling Stone: LTC Holmes' battle with the US Army.
Is the Army using Jedi Mind Tricks to bolster their budget?

I’ll be honest, this whole story brings me more mirth that anything else. In case you haven’t seen it, Rolling Stone did a big story on “Psy Ops” teams being used against visiting Congressional Delegations, and portrays Lt. Colonel Michael Holmes as the officer-in-charge cum whistle-blower that exposed this illegal venture:
The U.S. Army illegally ordered a team of soldiers specializing in "psychological operations" to manipulate visiting American senators into providing more troops and funding for the war, Rolling Stone has learned – and when an officer tried to stop the operation, he was railroaded by military investigators.

The orders came from the command of Lt. Gen. William Caldwell, a three-star general in charge of training Afghan troops – the linchpin of U.S. strategy in the war. Over a four-month period last year, a military cell devoted to what is known as "information operations" at Camp Eggers in Kabul was repeatedly pressured to target visiting senators and other VIPs who met with Caldwell. When the unit resisted the order, arguing that it violated U.S. laws prohibiting the use of propaganda against American citizens, it was subjected to a campaign of retaliation.

"My job in psy-ops is to play with people’s heads, to get the enemy to behave the way we want them to behave," says Lt. Colonel Michael Holmes, the leader of the IO unit, who received an official reprimand after bucking orders. "I’m prohibited from doing that to our own people. When you ask me to try to use these skills on senators and congressman, you’re crossing a line."

.... Apparently PsyOps teams are now practitioners of Jedi Mind Tricks, telling Senators “These aren’t the programs you wish to cut”....

I can assure you ... no self-respecting Jedi would mind-trick US senators .... now they might enjoy working over Rolling Stone reporters ... as in this case.

Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

“’Tis a wealthy thing to count your blessings by summers instead of by hours.” (O. Henry)

At one time, a commercial said, “it is not how long you make it, it is how you make it long.” What it was saying was that substance does make a difference. The apostle Paul once said to the believers in Galatians 6:10:
“As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”

"God, let me choose to do good for You today and every day.
Amen."

Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

Someone printed these words under a tranquil scene on a calendar: “Today is the tomorrow we worried about yesterday.” We do spend a lot of time worrying about tomorrow. We may spend so much time worrying about tomorrow that we miss the opportunities of today.

The apostle Paul sums up the challenge this way in Philippians 4:6-7:
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

"God, thank You for this day. Let me use it wisely.
Amen."

The Chaplains Corner

The Chaplains Corner

Guest blogger, Chaplain Paul, is one of the most effective chaplains in America today. He is an emergency responder to every situation.

Hey, this is the Chaplain again.

Another sign caught my attention this week; the first line was "Community Christian School." then some additional information. The first two words of that sign 'Community Christian' got me to thinking. We need more 'Community Christians'.

We have a lot of Church Christians - that is people that act a certain way on Sunday morning, but then when the service is over their behavior and lifestyle is certainly not Christ-like. What makes us think it's OK to ignore what the Bible says about how we should live? Do we really believe that God is oblivious to our sins?

Listen, I'm talking to folks who claim to be Christians. If that's you, then I want to know - does your life measure up to your title? God does not expect non-Christians to live Christ-like lives; some do, and that's great. But He does expect His kids to behave like His kids.

Ephesians 4:1 tells us,
"live a life worthy of the calling you have received."
And 2Peter 3:11 says,
"You should lead holy and godly lives."
This is not a new problem. Jesus told the 'Church Christians' of his day,
'You hypocrites and frauds; you're like manicured graves, you look nice on top, but underneath it's just rotting bones and worm-eaten flesh.' (Matthew 23:27)
That's pretty plain talk, but that's what the Lord said. Let me ask you again; are you a Community Christian or just a Church Christian, which one best describes you?

Farrakhan to Argue UFOs Are Real

Now ... exactly how does one ... reason ... with this kind of mentality?

Seriously ... do all the members of the "Nation of Islam" hold to this ... vision?

FOX news report
The Nation of Islam, long known for its promotion of black nationalism and self-reliance, now is calling attention to another core belief that perhaps isn't so well-known: the existence of UFOs.

When thousands of followers gather in suburban Chicago this weekend for the group's annual Saviours' Day convention, one of the main events will include a panel of scientists discussing worldwide UFO sightings, which they claim are on the rise.

The idea of seeking the divine in the skies is deeply rooted in the Chicago-based Nation of Islam, whose late leader Elijah Muhammad detailed in speeches and writings a massive hovering object loaded with weapons he called "The Mother Plane" -- although religion experts, Nation of Islam leaders and believers offer very different interpretations of what exactly happens aboard the plane, its role or how it fits into religious teachings.
......
During last year's Saviours' Day speech, Farrakhan for the first time in years discussed in detail a vision he had in Mexico in 1985 involving an object he calls "the wheel." Using charts, photos and drawings, he spent almost four hours describing how he was invited aboard and heard Elijah Muhammad speak to him. Farrakhan says that experience led him to inklings about future events.

Farrakhan, 77, has said the wheel, with its great capacity for destruction, contains the "wisdom to purify the planet," but has harmed no one so far. He also claimed there have been governmental attempts to cover-up proof of the wheel, which he says many call UFOs.....

I trust they've had a good time meeting under the "wheel" this weekend.

Humpty Dumpty Sat On A Wall....

I bet there is some gnashing and thrashing of teeth in Iran over this development!

NY Times article
Iran told atomic inspectors this week that it had run into a serious problem at a newly completed nuclear reactor that was supposed to start feeding electricity into the national grid this month, raising questions about whether the trouble was sabotage, a startup problem, or possibly the beginning of the project’s end.

In a report on Friday, the International Atomic Energy Agency said Iran told inspectors on Wednesday that it was planning to unload nuclear fuel from its Bushehr reactor — the sign of a major upset. For years, Tehran has hailed the reactor as a showcase of its peaceful nuclear intentions and its imminent startup as a sign of quickening progress.

But nuclear experts said the giant reactor, Iran’s first nuclear power plant, now threatens to become a major embarrassment, as engineers remove 163 fuel rods from its core.

Iran gave no reason for the unexpected fuel unloading, but it has previously admitted that the Stuxnet computer worm infected the Bushehr reactor. On Friday, computer experts debated whether Stuxnet was responsible for the surprising development. ......

Just a little gratifying to see.

The Roman historian Sallust said of the statesman Cato, “He preferred to be good rather than to seem good.” Sometimes we are content to just seem good. As long as others know our virtues and are ignorant of our vices, we are content—but we ought not to be!

May we have the same desire, and that is to be good rather than just seem to be so. A good reminder would be the daily news as we see so-called respectable men and women reduced to shame because of character indiscretions. The writer of Proverbs 10:9 says,
“He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.”

"God, help me to walk daily in Your footsteps.

With Every Action There is An Equal and Opposite Reaction

The political "progressives" are freaking out that there are actually American citizens that cherish our blood bought freedoms from a tyrannical, overlord, federal monarchy.

Yahoo news
HELENA, Mont. – With each bill, newly elected tea party lawmakers are offering Montanans a vision of the future.

Their state would be a place where officials can ignore U.S. laws, force FBI agents to get a sheriff's OK before arresting anyone, ban abortions, limit sex education in schools and create armed citizen militias.

It's the tea party world. But not everyone is buying their vision.

Some residents, Democratic Gov. Brian Schweitzer and even some Republican lawmakers say the bills are making Montana into a laughingstock. And, they say, the push to nullify federal laws could be dangerous.

"We are the United States of America," said Schweitzer. "This talk of nullifying is pretty toxic talk. That led to the Civil War."

A tea party lawmaker said raising the specter of a civil war is plain old malarkey.

"Nullification is not about splitting this union apart," freshman Rep. Derek Skees said. "Nullification is just one more way for us to tell the federal government: 'That is not right."
....
Arizona, Missouri and Tennessee are discussing the creation of a joint compact, like a treaty, opposing the 2010 health care law. Idaho is considering a plan to nullify it, as is Montana.
.....
Proponents draw on Thomas Jefferson's late 18th-century argument that aimed to give states the ultimate say in constitutional matters and let them ban certain federal laws in their borders.
....
The nullification debate reached a fever pitch this week when tea party conservatives mustered enough votes in the House to pass a 17-point declaration of sovereignty......

The rights and liberties of the individual American citizen are what is at stake ... and the individual citizen will prevail.

It's in our blood.

The Newest Outrage

Curt Levey at the Committee for Justice blog has an excellent take on the president's decision to not support the constitutionally passed law that defends traditional marriage.

Statement of CFJ Executive Director Curt Levey on today’s announcement that the Obama Administration will not defend the Defense of Marriage Act:

President Obama’s decision to abandon the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) is both outrageous – as a matter of Justice Department policy and constitutional law – and a miscalculation that will decreases the chances of ObamaCare being implemented, while potentially increasing calls for Supreme Court Justice Kagan to recuse herself from certain gay rights cases.

The President’s refusal to defend DOMA, a federal statute enacted by overwhelming margins in the Senate (85 - 14) and House (342 - 67) and signed into law by President Clinton, flies in the face of Justice Department policy and principles of democratic government. It has long been the Department’s policy to defend any challenged federal statute unless no plausible argument can be made in its defense. By ignoring that policy, President Obama is engaging in a disturbing power grab that, if taken to its logical conclusion, would allow him to undermine any duly enacted federal law that he doesn’t personally agree with.

But that’s not the worst of this power grab. In announcing the President’s decision, Attorney General Holder informed the nation that “the president has concluded that … sexual orientation should be subject to a more heightened standard of [constitutional] scrutiny.” In layman’s terms, that means that President Obama has decided that the Fourteenth Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause prohibits distinctions based on sexual orientation in the same way that it prohibits racial discrimination.

Of course, the authors of the Fourteenth Amendment would be quite surprised to learn that they had made same-sex marriage a constitutional imperative. However, even putting originalism and strict construction aside, it was heretofore accepted that only the judicial branch – particularly the Supreme Court – has the authority to determine the appropriate level of Fourteenth Amendment scrutiny and whether a particular piece of legislation meets that level of scrutiny.

Apparently, President Obama has now taken that authority upon himself. And this from an Administration that was outraged that Congressmen were even discussing the proper interpretation of the Fourteenth Amendment provision dealing with birthright citizenship.

This is not the first time that President Obama has shown he is willing to do an end run around the other branches of government in pursuit of his political agenda. His use of White House czars to circumvent the Senate confirmation process and of the EPA to circumvent legislative resistance to cap and trade should have forewarned us that he would attempt today’s end run around the judicial system.

Even if today’s end run succeeds, President Obama may come to regret it should he fail to win reelection. In that case, it will be up to a Republican president to defend ObamaCare against current and future constitutional challenges. Obama has just handed his successor a perfect excuse to effectively repeal or cripple ObamaCare by refusing to defend it in court.

Even in the short term, the President has strengthened the hand of ObamaCare opponents, particularly the many states that question its constitutionality and plan to resist its implementation. After abandoning DOMA, Obama has no moral authority to argue that, because ObamaCare is the law of the land, all government officials must enforce it unless and until the Supreme Court decides it’s unconstitutional.

Finally, even the President’s critics will concede that his conclusion about the proper level of constitutional scrutiny for sexual orientation – whether right or wrong – must have been based on legal research and analysis rather than just a sudden political whim. If so, Obama and Holder surely consulted the nation’s Solicitor General – the government’s top constitutional attorney – when conducting this important legal analysis. As a result, the Administration will be called upon to disclose whether Elena Kagan was still Solicitor General when this consultation began.

If the answer is yes and Kagan was involved in determining the federal government’s official position on the proper scrutiny for sexual orientation, it opens up an ethical can of worms for her concerning Supreme Court cases in which that standard is at issue. It’s a can of worms that Obama may come to regret.

Consider and Ponder.

Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

"One may go wrong in many different ways, but right only in one, which is why it is easy to fail and difficult to succeed—easy to miss the target and difficult to hit it."
(Aristotle)

The writer of Matthew 7:13-14 records these words of admonition from Jesus:
“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
In other words, we don’t accidently get to heaven. That entry is a choice (or series of choices) we make to follow Christ.

Yahweh Comes Near, Day 205

Day 205

Yahweh

Comes Near

I called on Your name, Yahweh, from the depths of the Pit. You hear my plea: Do not ignore my cry for relief. You come near when I call on You; You say: "Do not be afraid."
Lamentations 3:55-57 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

Yahweh comes near when we call on His Name. This is for Christians a powerful blessing ... and promise from our Creator.

In the Old Testament ... when humanity was still under the Old Covenant ... the thought of Yahweh actually coming near was actually a terrifying aspect for the typical person ... thus the Israelites said to Moses, "You go up on the mountain!" They wanted nothing to do with being in the presence of God ... but for we believers it is our blessed consolation and hope.

For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father!"
Romans 8:15 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

This is in The Name.

But That’s What Community Organizers Do

We've heard a great deal about "community organizers the last few years

... and it looks like we are going to be hearing a lot more about them in the next couple of years ... so ... following is a very good primer on the subject via Brutally Honest and BroKen's comment that leads us to the following article by Victor David Hanson.

Read it carefully.

During the Republican convention of 2008, Rudy Giuliani rhetorically asked: what is a community organizer? I think we always knew the answer without even referencing the guidebook of Saul Alinsky.

President Obama need not worry about budget deficits in the manner of Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin. Unlike state officials, he can print money, and raise fees and taxes. The nation’s more affluent, unlike blue-state refugees seeking red-state low tax sanctuaries, cannot flee anywhere. That makes it easy for President Obama to weigh in on the Wisconsin unrest by suggesting an insolvent state government was more interested in destroying the public unions than meeting a $3 billion budget shortfall.

That characteristic eagerness to grandstand on extraneous issues, while ignoring federal crises, is characteristic of this administration. It will not make meaningful progress in addressing its own massive trillion-dollar debts, reexamine the looming disaster of ObamaCare, gear up to produce more gas and oil in the face of skyrocketing energy costs, or seriously explore ways to get unemployment down below 9%.

Yet in the last twenty-four months, we have learned that the president will indeed declare that: the governor of Wisconsin is using his state budget disaster largely to punish public servants; the police in Cambridge, Massachusetts, act “stupidly” and racially stereotype minorities (“typically”) as do most police departments; the state of Arizona harasses Hispanic children when they go out to eat ice cream, and thus Mexico’s efforts to sue the state should be joined by the US government; much of our ills are due to “fat cat” bankers who junket to Las Vegas and the Super Bowl and cannot seem to grasp that at some point they have made enough money; the pro-democracy protestors in the streets of Tehran are not to be encouraged by our “meddling” (because of our past sins of involvement in Iran), but their counterparts in Cairo are to be encouraged by our meddling (despite our past sins of involvement in Egypt).

In addition, why would the president call for “sacrifice” in lean times, advising Americans to cut out going to dinner and to “put off” a vacation — while favoring Martha’s Vineyard for vacation, as the first lady (of erstwhile “downright mean country” repute) seems especially fond of Vail ski escapes in winter and Costa del Sol Mediterranean jaunts in summer? Is not symbolism important in these hard times?

Why, why, why all this? In a word, because that is what community organizers are supposed to do, even — or rather, especially — when they become the establishment. Cannot we answer Giuliani’s question? As a general rule, the “organizer” is not indigenous to the community, but as a sort of roaming utopian he travels widely to detect supposed foci of injustice (think an Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson), even to the point of worrying about professors being locked out of their homes or the tranquility of ice cream parlors in Arizona.

Almost immediately there is an artificial divide constructed between an oppressive “them” and a victimized “us,” usually on rigid class, gender, and racial lines. Some such university study is cited to “prove” injustice based on the absence of parity in income, healthcare, or education. Then the community organizer rallies the “community” to “get in their face” and agitate, which can encompass anything from suing in court, holding mass rallies, conducting voter registration drives with accordant intimidation, visiting the private homes of supposedly culpable officials, bankers, and the wealthy, and threatening strikes, slow-downs and disruptions. These metaphorical “hostage takers” must be “punished” as “enemies,” relegated to a proverbial backseat, and in such a fight have their knives rhetorically trumped by our guns.

Indeed, the supposed exploiters are deemed “fat cats” who often favor “Wall Street,” enjoy privileges that accord them Super Bowl or Las Vegas junkets, continually “raise the bar” on the rest of us folks, and can’t seem to figure out that at some point they have surely made enough money from others.

The remedy is always adolescent — the perceived government program and entitlement are demanded without any worry about who is to fund them or how. The community’s perceived “needs” are the sole point of contention, not society’s ability to meet them. The assumption of the community organizer is that there is an amorphous “they” (so often white, male, heterosexual, upper-middle class, Christian) who have done something wrong, or whose ancestors have done something wrong, that both results in their own present privilege and requires appropriate redress, in the moral sense.

The logic is circular — more public money to deserving constituents ensures political support and in turn requires higher taxes from others to pay for it, a two-pronged redistribution plan of taking from the undeserving to allot to the more worthy. Absent from the community organizer’s ideology is any sense that the individual might in some cases bear some responsibility for the ensuing inequality — encounters with the criminal justice system, poor family planning, reckless use of easy credit, involvement with dangerous and addictive drugs, no interest in formal education, or adoption of a popular culture that promotes anti-intellectualism, misogyny, illegitimacy, and defiance of accepted norms. Again, some sort of deliberate prejudice is more likely, and thus state money is justified as a sort of reparation for the collective sins of society, as well as a wise investment to prevent social disequilibrium, if not outright public unrest.

Note the flip side: those who are better off enjoy such benefaction largely as a result of birth, privilege based on the exploitation of others, bias against someone who does look like them, random chance, accident, illegality, or immorality — rarely is success due to harder work, careful planning, more education and training, deferred gratification, or wiser personal decisions. The point is not how someone got more than others, but the suspect system that allowed them to get that more — and how to correct it.

There is never any followup (think audit of the second stimulus, or reexamination of ObamaCare) about the cost effectiveness of the new grant or program. The key is getting the money, not ensuring that it is well used. The organizer — often far better educated than his constituents — then moves on, either to other crisis spots or into politics on his way up his planned cursus honorum. Moreover, the organizer feels a certain sense of entitlement, given his good works — an exemption as it were to live a particular and much deserved lifestyle not always that different from (and indeed at times far better than) the supposed purveyors of social injustice. That the creation of huge entitlements creates social dependency, disrupts traditional local and family networks of mutual help and reliance, emphasizes poverty entirely in a political rather than a spiritual framework, or enables rather than addresses destructive behavior is of less interest to the careerist organizer — either because he sees problems only in classical material terms, or because he is long gone after the money is allotted, or because unanticipated disasters are not his purview, or because dependency, not alleviation of pathology, is the more important goal.

So we should cease being surprised that the president editorializes about extraneous issues while ignoring critical ones, or that the administration is now addressing breast pumps, or that Obama has ignored the findings of his own debt commission, or that he has added 200,000 new federal workers at a time of fiscal insolvency, and on and on.

You see, that is what community organizers do, now and in the past.

Foreign troops in the streets of America

From The Borg Conspiracy

Couldn't happen you say? Guess again.
Canada, U.S. agree to use each other’s troops in civil emergencies
Canada and the U.S. have signed an agreement that paves the way for the militaries from either nation to send troops across each other’s borders during an emergency, but some are questioning why the Harper government has kept silent on the deal.

You haven't seen any mention of this in American media have you. No, this report is coming out of Canada and the American media is still asleep at the switch. No one in American media is questioning why the Obama administration has kept quite on this "deal" are they. Read on........
Neither the Canadian government nor the Canadian Fores announced the new agreement, which was signed Feb. 14 in Texas. The U.S. military’s Northern Command, however, publicized the agreement with a statement outlining how its top officer, Gen. Gene Renuart, and Canadian Lt.-Gen. Marc Dumais, head of Canada Command, signed the plan, which allows the military from one nation to support the armed forces of the other nation during a civil emergency. The new agreement has been greeted with suspicion by the left wing in Canada and the right wing in the U.S.

I can imagine that this agreement has been greeted with suspicion (in Canada) and I suspect that it would be greeted with more than suspicion (here) if this nation and the people at large were made aware of what has been hidden from them.

The Posse Comitatus Act specifically prohibits the use of American military personnel in any capacity involving law enforcement against the people. Yet here is an agreement between Canada and America, that is in essence our government and this administration making an 'end around' maneuver, to insure that the present administration can field as many troops in the streets as possible once they call for it. (including foreign troops.) And the premise of the supposed necessity is the need to address potential "Civil unrest?"

While some in Canada are railing against what they see as the increased integration of American and Canadian militaries, in my opinion there is a far graver fear and reality that should be being addressed. And that reality is the justified fear that foreign troops can now legally (via treaty) be put in our streets to police and control our citizens during "civil unrest." And this has been done under the cover of darkness and secrecy and withheld from the knowledge and awareness of the American people.

We Americans have had some significant 'civil unrest' across the last fifty years in particular. The civil rights movement and anti war protests of the 60's immediately come to mind. Campus unrest, Kent State etc. Rioting, burning, marching in the streets. All have occurred and yet we have never had the need to call in troops from other nations to quell or police our citizens. So what is afoot now. What is this administration afraid of? What are they preparing for?

For the past twenty odd years, there have been those who spoke of the black helicopters and the FEMA camps that have been inexplicably constructed for supposed "natural disasters" and in each instance, those who questioned what they were seeing were called nutters and members of some radical fringe thinking.

I wonder what people will think of their opinions now. I wonder what they will think if they are told the truth about what this administration is doing and accomplishing under the cover of a complicit media.

The bottom line, America is being prepared. From our international policy interactions with other nations, to the purposeful contrition and demeaning of America by this president in the eyes of the world. To the way our supposed office of homeland security responds and reacts to known and observed threats to this nation and recognizes the greatest of those threats as (supposedly) domestic in nature. To the recent admonishes by Janet Napolitano to solicit information from everyday Americans against their neighbors. To the manner in which our leaders now classify our own people in America as a greater threat than those on foreign soil who have vowed ill will toward this nation.

This president and his administration have been open and forthright as it concerns their observations of militant Islamic terror in the world. They have denied it exists and refused to even use the word terror or to recognize or acknowledge that there is Muslim fundamentalism afoot in the surge of global terrorism. They have branded our own people as threats, including Christians who have spoken out against homosexuality and those coming home from having served in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

These veterans are considered as potential subversives and potential threats to this nation. Yet this administration turns blind eyes and deaf ears to those all but screaming to be seen as the true threats to this nation in the middle east. Combine that with the fact that this president and his administration's across the board acceptance, that America stands to be attacked and on a level far beyond the 9/11 attacks.

That sentiment has been repeatedly followed up by the Obama administration, with the statement that America can 'sustain and absorb' another terrorist attack along the lines of 9/11 or worse. Now consider what is presently happening in Wisconsin and soon to be happening in Indiana and Ohio and other states.

This administration is preparing the ground for the day (soon to come) when the president could very well step forward and declare a national emergency. A time when in the face of rising discontent, this man could in essence call for marshal law and then bring in foreign troops to enforce his edicts. And by the way, his authority to use the kill switch on the internet is in place to be activated.

Still say that it can't happen here in America? Look around....pay attention people. How has the entire middle east been set afire in recent weeks and who was responsible for that happening. Still believe that all of that was the result of some leaked memos by wikileaks and some errant US Army PFC who apparently had unlimited access to America's greatest secrets?

There is a global fundamentalist Muslim realignment in the making. It has already occurred in Tunisia and Egypt and it is now spreading to Yemen and Bahrain and yes, it is spreading to Saudi Arabia. Libya is burning and the Muslim fundamentalists are cheering. Iranian navy ships are transiting the Suez in route to Syria And America is condemning Israel on the florr of the UN and this president remains silent.

Yet in the background, his military leadership is signing covert treaty agreements with Canada authorizing the deployment of Canadian troops in the streets of America during civil unrest? And yet Americans haven't been told about it.

The only position that this president has taken in the past month on any issue, has been to support the unionized efforts to overthrow the duly elected government of Wisconsin and the wishes of the people there. And to that end, the president and his party have sent their own campaign machine and resources into Wisconsin to see to it that the people of Wisconsin are not allowed to vote for their own self determination. Nor will they be allowed in any fashion to stand against the unions who have destroyed the public treasury of Wisconsin.

How much longer before this happens all across America? How much longer before we turn on the TV and see the streets of America resembling the streets of Cairo or Tripoli. How long before we see foreign troops marching and firing against our citizens?

That can't ever happen in America you say? It's already in motion people. Wake up and open your eyes before it is too late. Our enemies are inside the gates and they are preparing this nation for utter destruction and the ultimate socialist control of us all, cradle to grave.

Consider and Ponder.

Daily Nugget

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011.

Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

A Boy Scout master had twenty boys in his troop. He asked each to name his ideal person. Thirteen of them named a hardware dealer in the town. The leader took the scrawled names to the man and told him what had happened. The man turned white! He said that he never realized that such a thing could be true. Later he said, “After that happened, in everything I did I saw twenty-six eyes looking right at me.”

Each of us can ask the question: “How many eyes are looking at me?” We will probably never know the full number, but we can be assured there are some we never knew were looking. The writer of Colossians 1:10 encourages us with these words:
“Walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.”

"God, let my walk lead others to You.
Amen."

Do Not Be Afraid, Day 204

Day 204

Yahweh

Do Not Be Afraid

I called on Your name, Yahweh, from the depths of the Pit. You hear my plea: Do not ignore my cry for relief. You come near when I call on You; You say: "Do not be afraid."
Lamentations 3:55-57 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

This today is the God of Glory and Majesty calling back to us ... after we have cried out to Him ... "Do Not Be Afraid."

This response is the "rest" longed for in the human heart. Our Lord promised a Comforter ... and here we find inner peace ... and make no mistake ... here we find strength ... strength to not just "carry on" ... but rather strength to overcome every trial.

Through the spoken Word of Yahweh we are more than conquerors.

Do not be afraid.

For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father!"
Romans 8:15 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

This is in The Name.

N. Korea begs for food

One almost has to read between the lines to get the real news in this story ... and the real news is that the devastation of the brutally cold winter has destroyed crops around the world ... and some of our more repressed nations are beginning to feel the pressure of global cooling.

Washington Post
TOKYO - North Korea recently took the unusual step of begging for food handouts from the foreign governments it usually threatens.

Plagued by floods, an outbreak of a livestock disease and a brutal winter, the government ordered its embassies and diplomatic offices around the world to seek help.

The request has put the United States and other Western countries in the uncomfortable position of having to decide whether to ignore the pleas of a starving country or pump food into a corrupt distribution system that often gives food to those who need it least......

Awakening is coming ... but for millions it will be too late ... and they will have a complicit media and corrupt governments to thank.

God ... have mercy.

“If the forces of Christianity were one instead of so many denominations fighting each other, think what a great power the church would be for God." This statement has probably been said by many, in several varying ways, and thought by most.

If harnessed, the power of Christ would be the answer all the world is looking for in each of the areas of life whether it be religion, education, recreation.... The writer of 1 Peter 3:8-9 says,
“Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.”

"God, help us to worship You and You only in Spirit and Truth.
Amen."

50 million climate refugees by 2020

This is really amazing... the "scientists" are "getting" every thing exactly backwards.

Yahoo news report
WASHINGTON (AFP) – Fifty million "environmental refugees" will flood into the global north by 2020, fleeing food shortages sparked by climate change, experts warned at a major science conference that ended here Monday.

"In 2020, the UN has projected that we will have 50 million environmental refugees," Cristina Tirado, a professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, said at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).

"When people are not living in sustainable conditions, they migrate," she said, outlining with the other speakers how climate change is already impacting the amount of food we have -- food security -- and food safety, or the healthfulness of that food.

Southern Europe is already seeing a sharp increase in what has long been a slow but steady flow of migrants from Africa, many of whom risk their lives to cross the Straits of Gibraltar into Spain from Morocco or sail in makeshift vessels to Italy from Libya and Tunisia.

The flow recently grew to a flood after a month of protests in Tunisia, triggered by food shortages and widespread unemployment and poverty, brought down the government of long-time ruler Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, said Ewen Todd, a professor at Michigan State University, predicting there would be more of the same.

"What we saw in Tunisia -- a change in government and suddenly there are a whole lot of people going to Italy -- this is going to be the pattern," Todd said.

"Already, Africans are going in small droves up to Spain, Germany and wherever from different countries in the Mediterranean region, but we're going to see many, many more trying to go north when food stress comes in. And it was food shortages that put the people of Tunisia and Egypt over the top......

These refugees are fleeing "north" into Europe to escape political corruption ... and looking for that noble thing we call freedom... freedom from the despots under which they have suffered.

The global weather reality is also the opposite of what this article purports... in that our world's citizens that live in the norther parts of our nations are actually thinking about moving "south" to escape the growing harsh winters... as well is the world's food supplies are being diminished as the direct result of the global cooling that is having devastating effects on our crops.

How can such intelligent people get things exactly backwards from what is real? One answer is of course that they are not able to figure the God Factor into their projections and calculations. Leave God out and He will make you a fool.

Jails and Nursing Homes

Someone has come up with a good idea...we should put our seniors in prison...and our prisoners in the nursing homes.

Jails and Nursing Homes
Here's the way it should be:
Let's put the seniors in jail and the criminals in nursing homes.

This would correct two things in one motion:

Seniors would have access to showers, hobbies and walks.
They would receive unlimited free prescriptions, dental and medical treatment, wheel chairs, etc.
They would receive money instead of having to pay it out.
They would have constant video monitoring, so they would be helped instantly if they fell or needed assistance.
Bedding would be washed twice a week and all clothing would be ironed and returned to them.
A guard would check on them every 20 minutes.
All meals and snacks would be brought to them
They would have family visits in a suite built for that purpose.
They would have access to a library, weight/fitness room, spiritual counseling, a pool and education...and free admission to in-house concerts by nationally recognized entertainment artists.
Simple clothing - i.e.., shoes, slippers, pj's - and legal aid would be free, upon request..
There would be private, secure rooms provided for all with an outdoor exercise yard complete with gardens.
Each senior would have a P. C., T. V., phone and radio in their room at no cost..
They would receive daily phone calls.
There would be a board of directors to hear any complaints and the ACLU would fight for their rights and protection.
The guards would have a code of conduct to be strictly adhered to, with attorneys available, at no charge to protect the seniors and their families from abuse or neglect.

As for the criminals:
They would receive cold food.
They would be left alone and unsupervised.
They would receive showers once a week.
They would live in tiny rooms, for which they would have to pay $5,000 per month.
They would have no hope of ever getting out.
"Sounds like justice to me!"

Something for serious consideration.

George Washington's Code of Conduct

Allow me to share on this day what is known as George Washington's "Code Of Conduct."

These are a few of his personal character qualities that made him the man that he was, and why he is still held in high esteem to this day.

In one of his writing-books he copied many good rules and sayings. Here are some of these sayings:

Labor to keep alive in your breast that little spark of celestial fire called conscience.

Undertake not what you cannot perform, but be careful to keep your promise.

Be not forward, but friendly and courteous.

Be not curious to know the affairs of others, neither approach to those that speak in private.

Be not tedious in disclosure.

Speak not evil of the absent, for it is unjust.

Let your recreations be manful, not sinful.

When a man does all that he can, though it succeeds not well, blame him not.

Mock not, nor jest at anything of importance; break no jests that are sharp-biting, and, if you deliver anything witty and pleasant, abstain from laughing thereat yourself.

Use no reproachable language against any one, neither curse nor revile.

Associate yourself with men of good quality, if you esteem your own reputation.

Be not immodest in urging your friend to discover a secret.

Speak not of doleful things in time of mirth, nor at the table.

Break not a jest where none takes pleasure in mirth.

Laugh not aloud, nor at all without occasion.

When you speak of God or His attributes, let it be seriously, in reverence.

May we hear and heed these words from the one we offer gerateful memories this day.

“Remember that it is the actions, and not the commission, that make the officer, and that there is more expected from him, than the title.”
(George Washington)

The same is true in the army of God. The writer of Acts 11:26 says,
“And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.”
They were called Christians because they acted like Christ, not because of their "religious" affiliation.

"God, let my actions be worthy of the title of Christian, a follower of Christ.

The Chaplains Corner

The Chaplains Corner

Guest blogger, Chaplain Paul, is one of the most effective chaplains in America today. He is an emergency responder to every situation.

Hey, this is the Chaplain again.

I was at a local business the other day and walked pass the bathroom - it had a sign on the door, "KNOCK BEFORE ENTERING"; I thought that was a pretty good idea. And, that sign also reminded me of a Bible verse. In Revelation 3:20 Jesus said,
"I'm standing outside the door of your heart, knocking. If you will open the door I will come in."
That's an amazing picture, the Lord, Jesus Christ patiently waiting for you and me to open the door of our life so that He can come in. Why would He even want to come into my life and yours? The Bible says that the human heart can be a wicked, sin-filled place. Why would the Lord want to come into a place like that?

To clean it up; because He loves us.

You know how dirty sin makes you feel. Jesus can fix that. He will come into your life, forgive every sinful thing you've ever done and make you a new person - from the inside out. All you and I have to do is open the door and invite Him in.

Listen, He will not push the door open - but He gently knocks. And He will come in - if you invite Him. That gentle knock you hear? It could be the Lord.

Will you open the door?

A salesman called his wife from a coin-operated phone in a distant city, finished the conversation, said good-bye, and replaced the receiver. As he was walking away, the phone rang. He went back and answered it, expecting to be informed of extra charges. But the operator said, “I thought you’d like to know. Just after you hung up, your wife said, I love you.”

Technology has replaced the coin telephone with the cell phone, and we definitely don’t get that kind of service with a cell phone. One thing we can know, however, is that God keeps hanging on until we finish talking to Him and even waits for our next word. The writer of 1 Thessalonians 5:17 reminds us to
“Pray without ceasing.”

"God, thank You for listening and being ready to listen at all times.
Amen."

What will happen this coming week in Wisconsin

From The Borg Conspiracy

As the weekend arrives and settles down the simmering controversy, the political powers that be are bringing all their efforts to bear on the people of Wisconsin. The simple fact remains that the people of Wisconsin voted for change and now that the change is happening, the democrats locally and nationally are blocking it.

Talk about obstructionist tactics and violent reactions. The majority of teachers in Wisconsin walked out on their jobs this week, while the democrat led opposition to the governor, literally fled the state and went into hiding to prevent being forced to participate in a fair and democratic vote.

Once again, the democrats and their ilk demonstrate clearly to the people, that the favored tactic of the left is 'by any means necessary.' The president has sent his campaign organization to the state to whip up the local unionists and Jesse Jackson arrived yesterday to add his voice to the cacophony of angst and vitriol that will flow freely come next week. And yes, the former speaker, madam Pelosi has also weighed in to demonstrate her 'solidarity' with the unionists.

I can't wait to see what will happen this week. (Or how the media will report it).

A few years back Pepper Rodgers was in the middle of a terrible season as football coach at UCLA. The time even got so bad that it upset his home life. He recalls, “My dog was my only friend. I told my wife that a man needs at least two friends, and she bought me another dog.”

Many of us have reached levels of depression when we have felt no one is there to encourage and comfort us. At one of my lowest points, the Holy Spirit spoke to me, reminding me that Jesus went to the cross alone on our behalf. He reminded me that even though Christ was rejected on earth, He was loved and accepted by The Heavenly Father. The writer tells us God says in Hebrews 13:5:
“I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
When you are low, when you feel no one cares, look for Him; He is there with you.

AGW and CO2 are altering Evolution

Evolution is a theory that has not been proven ... nor demonstrated in any form. Global Warming is a political propaganda mechanism that is not demonstrated by science but rather promoted by fear mongering in order to further subjugate the "little people" of planet earth under more rules and regulation ... greatly diminishing the health and well being of billions of humanity.

Now ... the next step in the dream works of hype and fear mongering ... CO2 has been determined that it "might" alter the coming eons of evolution?

RD Mag
Rising carbon dioxide levels associated with global warming may affect interactions between plants and the insects that eat them, altering the course of plant evolution, research at the Univ. of Michigan suggests.

The research focused on the effects of elevated carbon dioxide on common milkweed, Asclepias syriaca. Milkweed is one of many plants that produce toxic or bitter chemical compounds to protect themselves from being eaten by insects. These chemical defenses are the result of a long history of interactions between the plants and insects such as monarch caterpillars that feed on them.

Plant defenses—and insect eating patterns—also respond to environmental factors such as rising carbon dioxide. This suggests that elevated carbon dioxide could affect plant evolution by altering the "selection pressure" that plant-eating insects exert on plants.

Selection pressure, the driving force of evolution, induces changes in the genetic composition of a population. It works like this: if insects inflict too much damage on plants, the plants can't reproduce as successfully. This sets up a situation in which any plants that, by chance, have inherited insect-deterring traits are at an advantage. Because of that advantage, such traits are likely to spread through the population, urged on by "pressure" from the insects.....

These people that dream this stuff up would make excellent SciFi writers.

Give me a break.

What Was "Journalism"

Journalism has descended into the abyss of "tabloid journalism" .... at best ... in the MSM. Also, the days of the "objective" reporter ... just reporting the "facts" ... has died ... and has been replaced by propagandists for the political politburo in Washington and the "academic" world of progressive elitism.

Media Research Center
Arianna Huffington's crazy left-wing, pro-Democrat website gets bought out by AOL for $315 million. Professional Angry Man Keith Olbermann follows up by joining Al Gore's deservedly unknown Current TV effort. Before that, decrepit Newsweek was absorbed by one of the lesser liberal lights of the blogosphere - Tina Brown's Daily Beast.

To journalists desperate for a direction - any direction - turning left seems an easy way to go. Forget MSNBC's brief propaganda attempt to "lean forward." That is going nowhere.

Old-style, supposedly neutral journalism is collapsing. Out of the rubble, we are seeing more and more journalists declare themselves to be what we've always known they were - liberal, left-wing, progressive or even "socialist," as MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell admitted late last year.....

The reality is that our current MSM has become nothing more than another arm of the "progressive" political party and is hell bent on dragging every "little person" that they so righteously say they defend ... into subservience to the state. We of course all know that what is best for the state is what is best for the little people ... you know ... so the state can take care of all of us ... feed us ... cloth us ... provide shelter for us ... provide health care for us ... teach us ... you know ... we would all be so much better off if we were just not responsible for our own lives and decisions.

I think we all have felt like Pogo did when we have faced, or are facing, life and its "opportunities." My dad often said, "Some days a man eats a bear, and other days the bear eats a man." The key in facing life is not to go alone, but to remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 28:20:

Yahweh Hears His Name

I called on Your name, Yahweh, from the depths of the Pit. You hear my plea: Do not ignore my cry for relief. You come near when I call on You; You say: "Do not be afraid."
Lamentations 3:55-57 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

When we cry out The Name ... Yahweh hears.

This is a sublime promise from our Father. Today ... call out The Name in earnest appeal. Identify the pit that you find yourself in ... and from that pit cry out The Name, Yahweh. Ask for His attention. Ask for His wisdom. He will grant it without reservation.

Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without criticizing, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith without doubting.

“Joy can be real only if people look upon their life as a service, and have a definite object in life outside themselves and their personal happiness.”
(Leo Tolstoy)

We are here for a purpose! When we learn that it isn’t just all about us, we can grow in the joy of serving others. Jesus gave us this example as He came to earth on our behalf, doing the will of The Heavenly Father. Remember these words of the Apostle Paul in his letter recorded in Philippians 2:4-8:
“Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”

From the Depths of the Pit

I called on Your name, Yahweh, from the depths of the Pit. You hear my plea: Do not ignore my cry for relief. You come near when I call on You; You say: "Do not be afraid."
Lamentations 3:55-57 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

One of the most difficult accomplishments for a person to make that is outside of Jesus/YahShua ... is discovering exactly where they are.

Abiding in the state of spiritual emptiness is so very difficult for the lost soul to recognize. They will thrash around in this life trying to gain ... whatever they think will make them ... happy ... only to find that what they thought would provide them joy is actually ... empty and vain.

The Teacher cries out,
"Absolute futility," says the Teacher. "Absolute futility. Everything is futile. What does a man gain for all his efforts he labors at under the sun?" Ecclesiastes 1:2-3 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

How desperate and sad for one to live a life ... never recognizing the pit in which they live.

The Ghost of Christmas Future

This offering is from The Borg Conspiracy

For those paying attention, the present rate that we as a nation are burning through money is unsustainable. The president's budget this week along with his promises of reducing the deficit are nothing short of blatant smoke and mirrors.

Obama's promises to reduce the deficit by 1.1 trillion dollars? "Over the next ten years." In other words, this is based upon a ten year projection and it is based upon an economic growth rate, twice what is realistically to be expected, even in the best of recovery speculation figures. The congressional budget office continues to point these facts out.
And then there is this news today from the UK
It's begun in the UK

British consumer price inflation surged to double the Bank of England's target in January, official data showed on Tuesday, raising pressure on the central bank to look seriously at increasing interest rates.

The Office for National Statistics said that the rate of consumer price inflation rose to 4.0 percent in January, in line with economists' forecasts, from 3.7 percent in December.

The rise, which was driven by higher oil prices and increased indirect taxation, means inflation has been at least a percentage point above the BoE's 2 percent target for more than a year.

BoE Governor Mervyn King will have to publish a letter to finance minister George Osborne later on Tuesday explaining why inflation remains so high.

Previously King has blamed above-target inflation on a succession of one-off factors, including rises in value-added tax, the depreciation of sterling and spikes in commodity prices.

Economists expect the BoE to raise interest rates from their record low of 0.5 percent later this year, and investors are betting a rise will come by May.

The BoE will publish a new set of growth and inflation forecasts on Wednesday.

Once again, for those who may be paying attention, the reality is that inflation is already here, it is already upon us. One trip to the grocery store should validate that reality very quickly. The news yesterday reflects that we are about to be slammed with quadruple price increases on produce due to the storms of the past month wiping out produce crops in Texas and Mexico. (So much for global warming), but there will be other increases that are not tied to recent weather or storms.

The news for the past two months reflects a global food shortage, particularly as it concerns grains. Once again, it seems as if we have shot ourselves in the foot by pursuing "green initiatives" and driving our economy down the global warming rabbit hole in pursuit of political ideology over common sense.

We have significantly reduced the production of corn in America by demanding more grain based ethanol, while at the same time further implementing environmental polices that further reduce the amount of acres of corn planted annually. Combine that with a burgeoning third world that needs that corn? And we have the perfect storm approaching us both internally and on the horizon globally.

Presently, America is a corn based economy. Everything that we do is in some manner or another tied to our corn production. Corn is in everything, from all levels of our food, to the plastics industry and just about everything else and now we have painted ourselves into a corner on that commodity by over burdening the resource unnecessarily.

Go ahead, have a look at the inflation that is rising in the UK in the report above, then consider that much of the unrest in the middle east is presently being spurred by rising inflation in food prices and yes, the perfect storm is forming for America. Inflation is coming to America and is already here. When you consider the factors I have pointed out and the combination of suicidal economic factors that this administration has allowed to build since 2008, there is no other outcome aside from economic collapse and global chaos.

The American economy cannot be sustained through borrowing and we cannot sustain our production of necessities to the world, while continually being ham-stringed by socialist and environmental policies aimed more at crippling America than addressing the sensible needs of the people.

Our deficit currently sits at 15 trillion and is projected to be over 21 trillion within the next five years?

Have a look around people and start getting your affairs in order. Put back and plan for the disaster that is looming. There is no escaping it. We are now at the sooner part of sooner or later as it concerns our fate. The die has been cast.

A lot of us married above ourselves (I know I did), and it is a great thing to have someone love you and think you are special. God loves us and thinks we are special. He knows all our quirks, warts and everything else about us and still loved us before we were even born. John, in his gospel, chapter 3:16, records these words from Jesus:

Jordan minister dubs Israel girls’ killer a ‘hero’

This story today is the definition of evil sickness.

Islam Tribune
AMMAN (AFP) - Jordan's justice minister on Monday described a Jordanian soldier serving a life sentence for killing seven Israeli schoolgirls in 1997 as a "hero," drawing an expression of "revulsion" from Israel.

"I support the demonstrators' demand to free Ahmad Dakamseh. He's a hero. He does not deserve prison," Hussein Mujalli, who was named minister last week, told AFP after taking part in the sit-in held by trade unions.
.....
In March 1997, Dakamseh fired an automatic weapon at a group of Israeli schoolgirls as they visited Baqura, a scenic peninsula on the Jordan River near the Israeli border, killing seven and wounding five as well as a teacher.
.....
The motives of Dakamseh, who was 30 at the time and a married father of three, were never clear.
.l...
"We cannot imagine that a great fighter like Dakamseh is in jail instead of reaping the rewards of his achievement," the letter said.

Jordan's powerful Islamist movement and the country's 14 trade unions, which have more than 200,000 members, have repeatedly called for Dakamseh's release.
Killing ... cold blooded slaughter of 7 school girls makes one a ... hero?
