Yahweh, Day 140

Day 140, Yahweh: Directing The Spirit
"Do you not know? Have you not heard? Yahweh is the everlasting God, the Creator of the whole earth."
Isaiah 40:27-30 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
One more brick in the building of the Greatness of Yahweh over and above all that man can imagine ... how can a man give direction to, or control, the Holy Spirit?
"Who has directed the Spirit of the Lord, or who gave Him His counsel?  Who did He consult with?"  Isaiah 40:13-14 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
This is another mental image shared for the purpose of trying to help a man come to the reality that he is just a ... man.
This is in The Name.
Intercessory Prayer:  Oh Father!  Help us to see more clearly the magnitude of Who You are … that we might see more clearly who we are … so that we might realize that we are not only … not God … but also that we have not the power to control You … Who Is God.  In Jesus Name.  Amen.

Daily Nugget

Today's cherished nugget from guest blogger, Pastor Bill.
One day, a little boy was seen lounging around a circus tent. If anything in the world is tempting to a boy, it is a circus.  Knowing this, a gentleman said, “Come, Johnny, let’s go into the circus.”
“No,” said the boy. “Father would not like it.”
“But your father need not know it,” said the man.
“But I will know it,” said the boy, “and when my father comes home tonight, I could not look up into his face.”
Ah, how important! Able to look into our Father’s face! He has been very good to us. No good thing has He withheld from us, and yet so many times we find ourselves unable to look into His face. May God help us live so close to Him, so pure and so holy, that all the time we can be able to look into His face.
Let us remember the words of 1 Peter 1:13-19: “Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.”
God, let our desire always to be able to look on Your face. Amen.Bro. Bill

Yahweh, Day 139

Day 139, Yahweh: Human Incapacity
"Do you not know? Have you not heard? Yahweh is the everlasting God, the Creator of the whole earth." Isaiah 40:27-30 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
The Prophet goes on to describe the vastness of our God that defies human comprehension ....
"Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand or marked off the heavens with the span [of his hand]? Who has gathered the dust of the earth in a measure or weighed the mountains in a balance and the hills in scales?" Isaiah 40:12 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
These are of course mental images shared for the purpose of helping a man to come to the reality that he is just a ... man.
This is in The Name.
Intercessory Prayer:  Oh Father!  Help us to see more clearly the magnitude of Who You are … that we might see more clearly who we are.  In Jesus Name.  Amen.

Daily Nugget

Today's Cherished Nugget from guest blogger, Pastor Bill.

“Let us keep our mouths shut and our pens dry until we know the facts” (Anton J. Carlson).
This is timely advice also for our computers. How many times have rumors burned across the Internet only to be retracted because not all the facts have been told. The apostle Paul gives this good and positive advice in Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
When we follow either (or both) of these words of wisdom, we will find and keep peace.
God, keep our hearts from secret sin.  Amen

Yahweh, Day 138

Day 138, Yahweh: Our Shepherd
"Do you not know? Have you not heard? Yahweh is the everlasting God, the Creator of the whole earth."
Isaiah 40:27-30 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
One of the most tender and protective of all occupations is that of the Shepherd.
"He protects His flock like a shepherd; He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries [them] in the fold of His [garment]. He gently leads those that are nursing."
Isaiah 40:10 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
As YahShua (Jesus) said, the Good Shepherd would lay down His life for His sheep.  Take a moment to marvel at this truth ... our Heavenly Shepherd did lay down His life.
The Good Shepherd also nurtures and cares for His sheep.  The Good Shepherd also will defend His sheep.  Our Good Shepherd loves His sheep.
This is in The Name.
Intercessory Prayer:  Oh Great Shepherd!  Thank You for Your love, protection, and care!  In Jesus Name.  Amen.
