Yahweh, Day 119

Day 119, Yahweh: A New Day
"Pay attention, heavens, and I will speak; listen, earth, to the words of my mouth. 2 Let my teaching fall like rain and my word settle like dew, like gentle rain on new grass and showers on tender plants. 3 For I will proclaim the Lord's name. Declare the greatness of our God! 4 The Rock-His work is perfect; all His ways are entirely just. A faithful God, without prejudice, He is righteous and true."
Deuteronomy 32:1-5 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
Verse 2 pictures a new day.  God has designed creation in such a way that with each day ... is newness.
A biblical day actually began at sunset ... not sunrise. Think on this ... this evening as the sun sets in the western sky ... the current day is past and God has designed that our new day begins with rest from our labors.
God's new day begins with rest.  Let this fall like rain and settle like dew on your heart.  The "dew" of Yahweh settles in the night ... refreshing and life giving.
As the Psalmist shares in Psalm 63:6-7, "When, on my bed, I think of You, I meditate on You during the night watches because You are my help; I will rejoice in the shadow of Your wings." (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
 It is in The Name.
Intercessory Prayer:  Oh Father, You make all things new!  And Your restoring grace works in our hearts during each new day … refreshing and invigorating … that we might proclaim Your greatness and goodness to all of creation.  Thank You!  In Jesus Name.  Amen.

"Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, ‘I will try again tomorrow’"  (Mary Anne Radmacher).
God gives us daily opportunities to live for Him. We may not always be as victorious as we would like to be, but He gives us the ability to start over daily and to find ourselves in a right relationship with Him (1 John 1:9).
God, thank You for giving us multiple opportunities to try to get it right. May we do better today than we did yesterday. Amen.

Yahweh, Day 118

Day 118, Yahweh: Preaching To Creation
"Pay attention, heavens, and I will speak; listen, earth, to the words of my mouth. 2 Let my teaching fall like rain and my word settle like dew, like gentle rain on new grass and showers on tender plants. 3 For I will proclaim the Lord's name. Declare the greatness of our God! 4 The Rock-His work is perfect; all His ways are entirely just. A faithful God, without prejudice, He is righteous and true."
Deuteronomy 32:1-5 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
Moses here appeals to all creation to listen to the message of Yahweh The Rock.  This is in reference to the tablets of stone on which the Law of God was given … the 10 Commandments etched in stone.  The commandments of Yahweh … perfect and just … and the great wonder is that Yahweh the Creator is personally involved with and in His creation … He has touched us.
It is in The Name.
Intercessory Prayer:  Oh Father!  You are involved with all of Your creation … and with each of us.  We are humbled at Your presence and attention.  In Jesus Name.  Amen.

"It takes 20 years to build a reputation and 5 minutes to ruin it. If you think about
that, you'll do things differently"  (Warren Buffet)
The Bible speaks a great truth in the statement: "A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches and loving favor than silver and gold" (Proverbs 22:1). In light of that truth, we are to live today, building our legacy for the days to come.
God, in these days where the world’s values are movable, help us to remain steadfast on walking with You. Amen.

Yahweh, Day 117

Day 117, Yahweh: An Everlasting Rock
"Trust in the Lord forever, because in Yah, the Lord, is an everlasting rock!"
Isaiah 26:4 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
A Rock stands as a symbol in ancient cultures of stability and faithfulness ... protection and deliverance … covenant and commitment.
Yahweh was, and is, our Rock of Salvation.  We will study this analogy for the next days.
Intercessory Prayer:  Oh Father!  There is no one like You!  We owe You everything … and in You we have salvation … and in You alone.  We will shout it from the housetops!  In  Jesus Name.  Amen.
