Prof. Caleb Rossiter: 'If people ever say that fears of censorship for ‘climate change’ views are overblown, have them take a look at this. Just two days after I published a piece in the Wall Street Journal calling for Africa to be allowed the ‘all of the above’ energy strategy we have in the U.S., the Institute for Policy Studies (IPS) terminated my 23-year relationship with them...because my analysis and theirs ‘diverge.’

And not only is the Professor concerned about the lies and misinformation about the "Global Warming" fudged "facts," he is also concerned about the very real human impact of the alarmist's desire to restrict the use of energy, such as in Africa.

His Wall Street Journal OpEd continued: “The left wants to stop industrialization—even if the hypothesis of catastrophic, man-made global warming is false.” He added: “Western policies seem more interested in carbon-dioxide levels than in life expectancy.”
“Each American accounts for 20 times the emissions of each African. We are not rationing our electricity. Why should Africa, which needs electricity for the sort of income-producing enterprises and infrastructure that help improve life expectancy? The average in Africa is 59 years—in America it’s 79,” he explained.
“How terrible to think that so many people in the West would rather block such success stories in the name of unproved science,” he concluded his WSJ OpEd.....

"Warmingistas" by Joe Bastardi!

Wow!!!

Joe Bastardi (formerly of the "AccuWeather channel" until he couldn't stomach the global warming mantra they are pushing any longer!) is weighing in on the "global warming alarmists over at Real Science ... and he is naming names and exposing agendas! Amazing work Joe and Steve! (Mr. Bastardi's comments are in the "comments" section of Steve's post.)

Thanks for the kind words, but most of us ( Steve included) know where this is going overall the next 20-30 years. N America has been the warm heart of a cooling planet. For the record, I expect a weak to perhaps moderate el nino to evolve this summer into winter, and while that will push global temps up a bit, double la ninas followed by el ninos with a cold PDO means the break we had this year in N America is not likely to repeat next year. Europe is likely to have another severe stretch, which would make it 4 winters in a row year to deal with a cold extreme. While I officially have forecasted global temps , as measured by objective satellites, to return to the temps of the late 70s by 2030, I must confess that some of the more extreme forecasts due to solar cycle theory certainly have reason to have a seat at the table.

The real shame is that we are now handcuffed by out of control warmingistas that have choked the lifeblood of our nations economy and find ourselves in a real bind as far as energy because of a ghost that never existed, and a reality that has a good chance of proving the opposite. Its amazing how many problems would be solved if we were just drilling without the paranoia about global warming. A more prosperous economy, less unemployment, more national security, and right on down the line. Years from now, people will marvel at how all this actually went on, perhaps with the same morbid fascination we look at what happened at Europe in the 30s. Tell a big enough lie loud enough , and people believe it.

.... One more thing, sorry I forgot.. A Hansen Super Nino watch is in effect. Once he realizes that the Nino is coming on (I posted last year when he was screaming about one for this past winter to wait till the following winter.. the one coming up in 12-13, though it would be weak) he will yell from the roof tops about a super nino, oblivious to the fact that we have a cold PDO and ninos are shorter lived and weaker.

I guess the 1 million or so he gets on the side of his government job by doing all this consoles him, but the watch is in effect anyway

The global warming house of cards is falling. The unfortunate thing, as Joe points out, is that millions, alas billions of humans will suffer due to the charade of "global warming" by governments and "global warming scientists."

And who will hold them accountable for the misery and loss of life so they can line their pockets?

Peter Gleick Admits to Deception in Obtaining Heartland Climate Files

Joe Bastardi hammering Warming Alarmists

Joe Bastardi, of Weatherbell Analytices, formerly of The Weather Channel, has had a belly full of the lies and coverup by the global warming alarmists.

I strongly suspected that Joe's growing concerns over the lying alarmists was a major reason for his departing The Weather Channel a year or so ago, and this new release by Joe adds to that feeling. He gets pretty down right explicit in his revelations about what is going on with the economy and the mess coming out of the EPA and Washington, and the tremendous negative economic impact on our nation and the world.

Of course the poorest people are the ones that are being most severely hurt by all of this, the least of these, as Christ would say.

When the PDO turned cold, most of the meteorological and climate community understood that the pattern was turning very similar the last time of the PDO reversal, the 1950s, and it was a matter of time before the global temperatures, which have leveled off, would start falling in the same herby jerky fashion they had risen when the PDO turned warm at the end of the 1970s. I am not going to rehash the sordid details of how the AGW crowd simply ignores the major drivers of a cyclical nature. We all know that. Nor am I going to question them as to why they believe a trace gas like co2 (needed for life on the planet) with a specific gravity of 1.5 as compared to the atmospheres 1.0, was going to mix with air in a way to affect the earth’s temperatures. Instead I am going to drive home points I have been making since 2007 and are now dramatically validating.

Currently, with gas so high because we are being handcuffed by an administration that won’t drill (if gas was a 1.50 lower, it would be worth a half trillion dollars to the economy) and an EPA that is causing untold economic damage (I would conservatively etiolate a half trillion dollars, from jobs lost to burdensome regulations) along with a 100 billion dollar subsidy to fight global warming world wide, it is costing each ACTUAL TAX PAYER close to 7000 dollars (1.1 trillion divided by 150 million tax payers).

One has to wonder, how even the most dogmatic of them don't look at the actual facts, how they can continue to carry on their denial while the results of such things handcuff the American economy and cause untold misery for many as our wealth is not only redistributed, but dwindles. One can only conclude this is being done on purpose, and with purpose.

Climate Research Shakedown

The cat is escaping out of the global warming bag ... and the money shake-down of the American tax-payer is coming to light ... and the ruse of Frankensteinian scientists gone bad is becoming more and more apparent to even casual observers.

Climate research,” the New York Times confidently assures us, “stands at a crossroads.” This means that a lot of research scientists are standing at the crossroads, holding out paper bags like trick-or-treaters on Halloween night, standing in line for taxpayer largesse to fill ‘em up.

These specialists in shakedown “science,” who speak only in hyperbole, are calling the weather of 2011 the worst in history, or at least in memory, or maybe a decade, and say they could have found useful links between disasters and global-warming “science” by now if only they could shake down tightwad taxpayers for a few more millions.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change predicts that 70 percent of the various species on the planet will be wiped out if global warming continues at the predicted rate. Floods, droughts, hurricanes, blizzards and other bad stuff will do us in.

The solution, the panel says, lies in either mitigation, to finally do something about the weather, or adaptation, to make the best of the bad news.

Mitigation relies on regulation, and naturally the worthies of shakedown science prescribe mitigation first. Regulation will require many studies, written in the language of academics that no one else can understand, to be read at elaborate conferences, always held at luxury resorts that a shakedown scientist could never afford on his own dime. The conclusion of the learned shakedown artists is invariably about how to milk the governments of the West for more handouts.

The director of NOAA tells the New York Times that with the pressure on the U.S. government to cut expenses and save taxpayers money, “it’s going to be more and more challenging to devote resources to many of our research programs.”

Science, which has replaced religion as the source of faith in certain circles, has otherwise always been skeptical of certitude. Science has always held that nothing is so settled as to be beyond questioning. This held until the propagation of the gospel of global warming. Skeptics are called “deniers,” their arguments mocked, and held up to public ridicule.

It’s a particular conceit of man to imagine that he is both the author and the center of the universe, that whatever happens to the stars is the work of his hand. “We are changing the large-scale properties of the atmosphere,” declares Benjamin D. Santer, a climate scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California. “You can’t engage in this vast planetary experiment — warming the surface, warming the atmosphere, moistening the atmosphere — and have no impact on the frequency and duration of extreme events.”

Or not. “Everybody talks about the weather,” Mark Twain said, “but nobody does anything about it.”

The Chevy "Volt" ... a pretty expensive taxpayer adventure ... mandated by the federal government.

Analyst: 'This might be the most government-supported car since the Trabant'

Each Chevy Volt sold thus far may have as much as $250,000 in state and federal dollars in incentives behind it – a total of $3 billion altogether, according to an analysis by James Hohman, assistant director of fiscal policy at the Mackinac Center for Public Policy.

Hohman looked at total state and federal assistance offered for the development and production of the Chevy Volt, General Motors’ plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. His analysis included 18 government deals that included loans, rebates, grants and tax credits. The amount of government assistance does not include the fact that General Motors is currently 26 percent owned by the federal government.

The Volt subsidies flow through multiple companies involved in production. The analysis includes adding up the amount of government subsidies via tax credits and direct funding for not only General Motors, but other companies supplying parts for the vehicle. For example, the Department of Energy awarded a $105.9 million grant to the GM Brownstown plant that assembles the batteries. The company was also awarded approximately $106 million for its Hamtramck assembly plant in state credits to retain jobs. The company that supplies the Volt’s batteries, Compact Power, was awarded up to $100 million in refundable battery credits (combination tax breaks and cash subsidies). These are among many of the subsidies and tax credits for the vehicle......

DURBAN, South Africa (AP) — The United States, China and India could scuttle attempts to save the only treaty governing global warming, Europe's top negotiator said Friday hours before a 194-nation U.N. climate conference was to close.

After two weeks of negotiations, talks went through the night Thursday with delegates struggling to keep Durban from becoming the graveyard of the 1997 Kyoto Protocol on global warming.

"If there is no further movement from what I have seen until 4 o'clock this morning, then I must say I don't think that there will be a deal in Durban," said Connie Hedegaard, the European commissioner for climate action.....

And should truth prevail we just might avert the coming human disaster of God's judgment against man claiming to do what only God can do .... and in this case .... that would be controlling the climate of the earth.

More than 5,000 documents have been leaked online purporting to be the correspondence of climate scientists at the University of East Anglia who were previously accused of ‘massaging’ evidence of man-made climate change.

Following on from the original 'climategate' emails of 2009, the new package appears to show systematic suppression of evidence, and even publication of reports that scientists knew to to be based on flawed approaches.

And not only do the emails paint a picture of scientists manipulating data, government employees at the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) are also implicated.

One message appeared to show a member of Defra staff telling colleagues working on climate science to give the government a ‘strong message’.

The emails paint a clear picture of scientists selectively using data, and colluding with politicians to misuse scientific information.....

Australian government carbon madness

Australia is going totally Orwellian.

THE whitewash begins. Now that the carbon tax has passed through federal parliament, the government's clean-up brigade is getting into the swing by trying to erase any dissent against the jobs-destroying legislation.

On cue comes the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, which this week issued warnings to businesses that they will face whopping fines of up to $1.1m if they blame the carbon tax for price rises.

It says it has been "directed by the Australian government to undertake a compliance and enforcement role in relation to claims made about the impact of a carbon price."

Businesses are not even allowed to throw special carbon tax sales promotions before the tax arrives on July 1.

"Beat the Carbon Tax - Buy Now" or "Buy now before the carbon tax bites" are sales pitches that are verboten. Or at least, as the ACCC puts it, "you should be very cautious about making these types of claims".

There will be 23 carbon cops roaming the streets doing snap audits of businesses that "choose to link your price increases to a carbon price".......

Seriously, can you think of anything more ... governmentally wicked? To levy a tax ... then tell a business that they do not have the right to inform their customers that their price increases are due to the government's added tax ... under threat of massive fines if they dare announce the obvious.

Global Warming Fear Mongering in Kampala

The IPCC is at it again. And they are shrieking louder than ever before in their newest gathering of nations taking place this very day.

Following is just part of their scare-mongering in Kampala this week.

Southern Europe will be gripped by fierce heatwaves, drought in North Africa will be more common, and small island states face ruinous storm surges from rising seas, according to a report by UN climate scientists.

The assessment is the most comprehensive probe yet by the 194-nation Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) into the impact of climate change on extreme weather events.

A 20-page draft "summary for policymakers" obtained by AFP says in essence that global warming will create weather on steroids.

It also notes that these amped-up events -- cyclones, heat waves, diluvian rains, drought -- will hit the world unevenly.

Subject to modification, the draft summary will be examined by governments at a six-day IPCC meeting starting on Monday in the Ugandan capital of Kampala.

In the worst scenario, human settlement in some areas could be wiped out, the report warns.

"If disasters occur more frequently and/or with greater magnitude, some local areas will become increasingly marginal as places to live or in which to maintain livelihoods," it says.

"In such cases migration becomes permanent and could introduce new pressures in areas of relocation. For locations such as atolls, in some cases it is possible that many residents will have to relocate." .......

Chicken Little isn't going to be able to shout much louder that the sky is falling. The only problem is that it is going to be the temperature that is falling, and snow, instead of the temperature rising.

The only temperatures that are going to be rising are in the veins of the alarmists as they watch their predictions crashing to the ground by God Himself. As Yahweh said in Hosea, He is God and not man. Or we could say it this way, man is not God, and when man claims to do what only God can do, God will prove that man can't.

This would be really fun if there weren't so many people that are going to suffer because of all the lies of the alarmists. We should be preparing for a very cold coming generation.

World has five years to avoid severe warming: IEA

In their desperation to convince the world that humanity is destroying the planet by burning carbon fuels, gas and oil, the IEA has upped the anti.

Just a couple of years ago we were being told that we had until something like 2030 before we reached the point of 'no return.' Now the scream is only 5 years away before the global warming destruction of the world by mankind.

The world has just five years to avoid being trapped in a scenario of perilous climate change and extreme weather events, the International Energy Agency (IEA) warned on Wednesday.

On current trends, "rising fossil energy use will lead to irreversible and potentially catastrophic climate change," the IEA concluded in its annual World Energy Outlook report.

"The door to 2.0 C is closing," it said, referring to the 2.0 Celsius (3.6 Fahrenheit) cap on global warming widely accepted by scientists and governments as the ceiling for averting unmanageable climate damage.

Without further action, by 2017 the total CO2 emissions compatible with the 2.0 C goal will be "locked in" by power plants, factories and other carbon-emitting sources either built or planned, the IEA said.

Global infrastructure already accounts for more than 75 percent of that limit.

To meet energy needs while still averting climate catastrophe, governments must engineer a shift away from carbon-intensive fossil fuels, the agency said bluntly.

The report "shows that the world is heading for a fossil-fuel lock-in. This is another urgent call to move to a low-carbon economy," she said in a statement.

Setting a global price on carbon, slashing fossil fuel subsidies, boosting renewable energy and energy efficiency and revised tax codes are all tools for achieving that end, she added.

As you can see by the last 2 little paragraphs, the goal of the alarmists is simply a total control of the world's economy ... and a drastic reduction of the world's peoples life styles.

Governing bodies know best of course what is best for us all.

And in the process of their hysteria, Yahweh is making them fools by lowering the earth's temperatures.

In God We Trust

Here is some interesting news out of the House of Representatives that hasn't received much play, a voted on House Resolution to affirm our national motto, "In God We Trust."

I guess it is a little heart warming that the House would elect to make such a resolution ... but it is a little disheartening to realize that they felt the need to do so. Not that they didn't need to do so, it is just a rather sad commentary about the reality of the place that our nation has come to.

House Votes to Reaffirm 'In God We Trust' as National Motto

The House on Tuesday passed a measure reaffirming “In God We Trust” as the national motto of the U.S., in an effort to encourage its display in public buildings and send a message to those who seek to remove God from the public domain.

The resolution required a two-thirds vote to pass, and did so easily, 396 to 9.

“We need to make clear to the people in this country that our motto is ‘In God We Trust,’ and encourage them to proudly display that motto,” Forbes said.

Rep. Dan Lungren (R.-Calif.) said the reaffirmation is also important because the word “God” has been challenged in the courts when used on public buildings, such as the new U.S. Capitol Visitor Center, and in the Pledge of Allegiance when it's recited in public schools.

“This is an important message that we need to affirm. It is under attack, and we are not wasting time. How could we waste time making sure ‘In God We Trust’ is enshrined in our national motto?” Lungren said.

Rep. Jeff Miller (R.-Fla.) said the U.S. has relied on its faith in God since the country's inception.

“Yes, there are attacks on God, every day,” Miller said. “As President Reagan​ said, 'If we ever forget that we're one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.’ ”

Even though this has not made it into any MSM news reports ... it might just be a resolution that is referred to in days ahead.

The "Occupy Wall Street" protesters true colors are coming out ... and the color is fire orange.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Police and protesters supporting the Occupy Wall Street movement have clashed downtown following a day of peaceful protests throughout Oakland.

The confrontation began after protesters started a large bonfire in the middle of a downtown street. Dozens of police in riot gear moved in on hundreds of protesters as the flames leapt more than 15 feet in the air from several large metal and plastic trash bins that had been pushed together.

Police warned protesters to clear out before firing several rounds of tear gas and "flash bang" grenades to clear the area.

In the aftermath of the police actions, protesters with cloth wrapped around their faces to protect them from the stench of the gas marched through the area chanting, "Whose streets? Our streets."

Some marchers wore gas masks.

Glass covered streets and sidewalks from windows of area businesses that were shattered.....

The article state how the OWS crowd had managed to shut down the port that loads and unloads goods to and by ship. Now that's a real noble accomplishment against our evil capitalist system of business ... don't you think? And just how would one imagine that the windows of the shops that had been shattered and scattered on the sidewalks got shattered? Do you think that the police broke out all the windows?

The true colors of this "movement" are coming out, and it is not the color of the 99% of Americans. This is a fringe, anti-capatalist, spell that 'socialist/communist' movement. It is trying to take advantage of the gullible, but again their true colors are coming out.

It will fail. The true colors of 99% of Americans are red ... white ... and blue.

U.S. Winter May Be Coldest in Decade, Commodity Weather Says

Bloomberg business is reporting forecasts of a colder-than-normal winter for the US. Good news for commodity traders ... bad news for average citizens and global warming alarmists.

Oct. 24 (Bloomberg) -- The coming U.S. winter may be the coldest in more than 10 years, Commodity Weather Group LLC said in its seasonal forecast.

Temperatures will range from 1 to 3 degrees Fahrenheit (0.5 to 1.7 Celsius) below normal across much of the U.S., according to the forecast. The period from November to March is expected to be 2.4 percent colder than last year, said Bethesda, Maryland-based CWG.

“This would be the coldest winter since 2000-01,” the company said.....

Death Panel opens the door to the cancer that is the #1 cancer among men. Newt is trying to expose this effort by bureaucrats to lord it over our health care.


Earlier this month, a panel appointed by the Department of Health and Human Services made a recommendation so detached from the good of individual patients it could only have come from government bureaucrats. They recommended eliminating screening for the most common cancer among males nationwide.

Despite lacking any specialist who deals with the issue, the panel issued a recommendation this month to stop using the only available test to screen for prostate cancer. PSA tests .... Without the PSA testing, many men will have no way to know they have the disease until it has developed into much more dangerous problem. In some cases, it will be a too late by the time they discover it.

It has nothing to do with the merits of the test. Instead, these government-appointed experts advised against screening because they disagree with what some doctors and patients choose to do with the information once they have it ..... the task force’s answer is simply to deny doctors and patients the chance to consider early treatment by recommending they not screen for prostate cancer in the first place.

That is not a reasoned response to the problem. It is a bureaucratic response to the problem. And people will almost certainly die because of it.

This points to the difference between the bureaucratic approach to healthcare, which leads to rationing, and an approach to empower individuals and their doctors to make the best decisions for them.....
