Now can you imagine anyone with any sense of logic actually saying in a national media setting that any president we have or ever have is just too smart for the American people to grasp? Or can you imagine anyone suggesting that their biggest mistake in life was in not killing a former president?

Which is the only thing that Gore Vidal said in this entire interview that was correct on any level IMO. Americans are stupid. As further evidenced by those who watch the likes of Joy Beyhar and actually think or believe that her show is either informative or intellectually stimulating, much less a truthful representation of anything.

Remember, this is the same woman who is also a daily host on "The View." Where she and Barbara Walters and Whoopi Goldberg gather daily to collectively amass and display their liberal acumen and then attempt to pass it off as reasoned commentary.

But back to this interview.

Aside from the fact that Vidal is as liberal as they come and more than willing to place his finances behind his political leanings, the amazing part of the interview comes at the end. Where after touting the supposed wisdom of Barack Obama and the innate ignorance of most of America, the man sits there and blatantly asserts that he is forlorn and apologetic for never having killed former President George Bush.

These are the types of people that are fawned over by liberal American media programming and their mindless day time television commentary shows. And not one eyebrow is raised or one exception taken by either the FCC or the Secret Service for that matter.

Those like Vidal and Beyhar are allowed their amusements and jabs at supposed humor and they are never questioned as to their own spewed version of hate.

And they don't want us to believe that they are capable of setting up death panels?

Snow shifts east, paralyzing plains

Blizzard conditions closed Interstate 70 just east of Denver. (October 29, 2009)

DENVER - After pounding Colorado's Front Range and metropolitan Denver for more than two days with snow, a powerful Winter Storm pushed into eastern Colorado, Nebraska and Kansas Thursday evening.

The snow and wind created blizzard conditions and forced the closure of several major highways, including Interstate 70 which was shut down from Aurora to the Kansas state line.

Also closed were I-76 from Brighton to Neb., US 34 from Brush to Neb., CO 71 from Neb. to Ordway, CO 61 from Sterling to Otis, and CO 59 between I-76 and Yuma.

The storm was the biggest October snowmaker in the Denver area since 1997, said Byron Louis, a weather service hydrologist in Boulder. It also broke records for total October snowfall in Wyoming.

"The track of this storm was more indicative of March and April heavy storm event," FOX 31 Chief Meteorologist Dave Fraser said. "A two day event of this magnitude is certainly an oddity for October and may be an indication of the winter to come, which is a scary thought."....

Yes Mr. Fraser, this is a scary thought.

Chaplain Paul is one of the most effective chaplains in America today. He is an emergency responder to every situation.

Hey, this is the Chaplain again. This Sunday is the end of daylight savings time. For the next few months it’s going to get dark early. And I hope you remember to set your clock back one hour, or you’ll be early for church – that sure would surprise the pastor.

As I thought about the time change I was reminded of an important principle in scripture; we need to be working for the Lord while there is still time. In John 9:4 Jesus said,

“As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.”

Listen folks, we don’t have forever to get the job done.

Too many of us are better at procrastinating than we are at producing when it comes to spiritual things.

You know what helps me to get things done – put it on paper, make a list. You might want to try that. Make a list of the things you need to get done, and then put in order of priority – the most important things first. If you did that, would there be an item on your list such as, ‘talk to Larry about Jesus’ or ‘remind Mary that God loves her’? And how close to the top of the list would those things be?

I can remember my dad saying, ‘hurry up, we’re running out of daylight.’ Folks, we’re running out of daylight when it comes to telling people the Good News of God’s love. The night is coming when no one can work and it will be eternally too late.

In anticipation of the Obama administration's 'stimulus report' tomorrow, CBS Evening News reported on the fraudulent jobs claims already fabricated by Obama's White House.

CBS used research provided from a report yesterday by the Associated Press, entitled, "Stimulus Jobs Overstated by Thousands," which documents several specific instances of outright lies of the Obama administration, and says, that the administration has “overstated by thousands the number of jobs created or saved.”

Isn't it worth noting that the same people in government falsifying these numbers are the same ones being entrusted to potentially run the nation's health care? ....

Every day we can find people in our life that, if we are not careful, we reduce to the level of weeds simply because we have failed to see the value God places on them.

In the most quoted verse of all times, John 3:16, we are reminded,

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.”

This message reminds us not only of how much we are loved by God, but also of what the word "whosoever" is in relation to the value He places on each of us.

A gunshot was fired at the New Jersey home of CNN's Lou Dobbs after a series of threatening phone calls earlier this month, the host told listeners on his nationally syndicated radio show.

Dobbs, a fervent proponent of U.S. border enforcement, told listeners of "The Lou Dobbs Show" on Monday that the incident is part of an ongoing assault against anyone who opposes amnesty or leniency toward illegal immigrants.

"They've created an atmosphere and they've been unrelenting in their propaganda," Dobbs said in reference to pro-immigration groups like the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), the National Council of La Raza and America's Voice. "Three weeks ago this morning, a shot was fired at my house where I live. My wife was standing out and that followed weeks and weeks of threatening phone calls."

Dobbs continued, "But this shot was fired with my wife not, I don't know, 15 feet away, and we had threatening phone calls that I decided not to report because I get threatening phone calls."

Reached early Thursday at her home, Dobbs' wife, Debi Lee Segura, told Foxnews.com that she was outside the house when the shot was fired in her direction. She declined to elaborate, referring calls to Dobbs, who could not be immediately reached for comment.....

Only problem with one's head stuck in the sand is that it exposes the throat to a swift and final end... which we see happening right in front of our eyes... the rapid demise of the MSM as we USED to know it.

Over the top but on the mark

If you can get by the histrionics and theatrics, talk jock Glenn Beck does a nice job of weaving together what might appear to be disparate scenarios, but when viewed as a whole, leave you with the nagging feeling that Obama and his team are much further left than his campaign rhetoric led us to believe. I can only take so much of Beck, and catch his show only because he comes on when I'm working out on the treadmill or elliptical, and bored to death. He is as far to the right as MoveOn.org is too far to the left. (If either moved another inch they'd fall over.) Yet, now I find myself watching him for breaking news! That sounds like a bad joke.

He may give the Fox news channel a bad name in liberal circles, but he is the only one who seems to be breaking new ground revealing the socialist tinge to Obama's inner circle. The journalists on Fox then pick up his storyline, usually followed last by the mainstream media which will couch his "propaganda" in disparaging language. ("raving crazy," "the new lying lunatic skunk at Fox.")

I had written about Obama numerous times before the election saying that he was a closet socialist. His early ties to taxpayer funded ACORN (authoritarian socialists) as a leadership trainer - even before Harvard Law School - were troubling, but I thought after the election the Democratic leadership would nudge him to the middle; particularly after he made some respectable early cabinet appointments. Then came the czars.

It did seem bizarre to me that he would appoint Van Jones - an avowed communist - as a czar. I shrugged it off because of their early friendship, until Beck's staff uncovered recent revealing videos of Van Jones, such as, "I met...really radical communists and anarchists, and it was like this is what I need to be a part of,.. and "by August I was a communist." Then other strange videos started popping up, such as Ron Bloom, manufacturing czar, another Harvard grad from the United Steelworkers Union: "We all know that the free market is nonsense...We kind of agree with Mao that political power comes largely from the barrel of a gun..." And like Obama, Bloom had connections to the Democratic Socialists of America, which is decidedly more socialist than democratic. ("Our goal as socialists is to abolish private ownership of the means of production. Our immediate task is to limit the capitalist class's prerogatives in the workplace.") As a child Bloom was indoctrinated in Habonim, "a progressive Labor Zionist youth movement that emphasizes...socialism and social justice." Bloom explains: "That's part of what I try to do in my work life...That's one of the things that made me want to work for Obama."

And the list goes on with Hilda Solis, Secretary of Labor, former Congresswoman from California, who got 60 percent of her PAC donations from the Association of Trial Lawyers, the Teamsters, and the Service Employees International Union. (SEIU). Beck rails against Obama's love affair with the SEIU. ("Your agenda has been my agenda in the United States Senate.") She has sent representatives to meetings sponsored by the Socialist International, and to a major Communist Party USA event.

And then Anita Dunn, Obama's communication director, who called Fox the "communications arm of the Republican party." Beck's investigators then uncovered a video of Dunn addressing a high school graduation exercise telling these kids that Chinese dictator and mass murderer Mao Zedong is one of her "favorite political philosophers." She later tried to explain her comments away, but after all, she is Obama's communications guru, and should do a better job than this.

The list of odd ball far left liberal czars and advisors seems endless.

Beck really became a rock star when he released all those shocking videos of ACORN trained cadre in four cities endorsing prostitution, tax fraud, and sex slavery by illegal immigrant minors. These videos were so despicable that even the mainstream media finally had to report the story, and the Democratic Congress was compelled cut off their funding. (As it is, ACORN is also under investigation in 14 states for voter registration fraud.)

This story was so big that it was reported in the People's Daily Online, euphemistically known as China Daily USA, which referred to ACORN as a "U.S. Anti-poverty group in trouble over tips for prostitution," and in "850 neighborhood chapters in 100 cities across the U.S...Argentina, Peru, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Canada." Good grief. This is a Chinese newspaper.

And all because of Beck.

Even Britain's guardian.co.uk got into the act saying that "Barack Obama's press chief" will not "legitimize" Fox News "as a news organization. No favours, no interviews, no recognition. The fantastically rabid Mr. Fox is the enemy."

And all because of Beck.

There is a lot more to this story, and it has a Michael Moore feel to it. A "mockumentary" on Beck - given his weirdness, his past, and his right-wing Christian background - could be more of a box office hit with Democrats than "Sicko" or "Capitalism: A Love Story." But how do you finesse all those revealing videos? They are the truth. Everybody wants to be on camera. There are no more invisible secrets.

Daniel Borstin, brilliant American historian and twelfth Librarian of the United States Congress, observed in his Guide to pseudo-events in America, that "Truth" has been displaced by "believability" as the test of the statements which dominate our lives." This reflection is but another slant to Mark Twain's observation that "Truth is stranger than fiction, but it is because fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities."

"Truth isn't."

Rep. Bart Stupak, a democrat, will not vote for a health care bill that doesn't clearly deny tax money for abortions.

Rep. Stupak threatens to work with Republicans to kill healthcare bill

Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) on Tuesday threatened that he may work with Republicans to torpedo healthcare reform unless he gets a vote to strip abortion-related provisions out of the House bill.

Stupak wants a floor vote on a measure that would prohibit taxpayer funds from being used for abortions. And in an interview on C-SPAN on Tuesday, he suggested if Democratic leaders don’t give him the vote, he’ll work with Republicans....

Some Democrats have been irritated by Stupak’s public campaign to change the bill, something Stupak is well aware of.

“The Speaker is not happy with me,” Stupak said.

The Michigan Democrat said he will not be backing down: “I’m comfortable with where I’m at. This is who I am. It’s reflective of my district. If it costs me my seat, so be it.”

According to Rep. Joe Pitts (R-Pa.), an ardent opponent of abortion rights, Stupak is confident in the support he has within the Democratic Caucus. Stupak said he has about 40 Democrats who will vote no on healthcare reform unless Democratic leaders change their bill on the abortion language. That would be enough to take down the bill if every GOP lawmaker votes no....

... and he says 40 other democrats will stand with him.

Nice to see that some are waking up to the senseless plague of abortion on demand.

I believe that this is one of those instances that you hear people refer to as a "no brainer." Not as it applies to what this jerk did, as his actions would certainly qualify him as having limited mental capacity IMO, but as it applies to what the most appropriate response by the viewing public should be.

Based on this report I would say that in response, that I was immediately canceling my HBO subscription. But that would not be a true response on my part. You see I can't cancel my HBO subscription and episodes like this are a direct example of the ongoing reasons why I haven't subscribed to HBO or the rest of those cable networks in my cable bundle for over twenty years now.

They (the powers that be at HBO) actually think this kind of unadulterated anti Christian angst and blatant attacks on Christianity are funny? They actually think that what this man has done on the program that they sponsor, is nothing but harmless humor and they therefore, defend it as such?

"Anyone who follows Curb Your Enthusiasm knows that the show is full of parody and satire," the statement read. "Larry David makes fun of everyone, most especially himself. The humor is always playful and certainly never malicious."

Playful? Exactly! That was the first very word that came to my mind immediately upon reading this report. (yeah right).

The HBO response to this atrocity would be funny if the subject matter weren't so serious. Therefore, I pass this report to you along with my sentiments on the matter, in the hopes that anyone who reads this and follows up by going to the link to read the entire report, will seriously reconsider their continued patronage of HBO if they haven't already severed all ties with them.

Yes, as an individual America? I feel that the best way to handle HBO's support of anarchist and anti Christ humor, is to just say "well piss on them."

I dare say we are in that hour, or very near. We see our politicians' values change daily, based on which way the winds of the polls blow.

I also believe it is not necessarily the majority, but the loudest group even--if they are a minority--that moves the polls. Don’t you long for the return of the days of integrity when you knew day in and day out what a certain man or woman stood for? The writer of Matthew 5:37 records these words of Jesus, words that we need to be reminded of today:

“But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.”

God is good…. All the time!

Don't doubt that this resignation will be used to justify our cutting and running from our commitments in the Middle East, esp. Afghanistan. This is what the administration has been waiting for.

We have here a true American hero from the field of battle, who struggles with PTSD, who has finally decided that he doesn't need the pressure anymore... and... I salute him for his dedication and service... but... I am afraid this is going to be used as justification for our entire position strategy in Afghanistan... and that will be wrong... and evil.

It will be like he gave his life in the field of battle and service... to now be 'used' by our government looking for a way out... and I use the word 'used' in the sense of 'using' someone else's hurts for their personal benefit. I am saying that Matthew Hon will be used... taken advantage of.... without a thought for his personal well being... matter of fact... in the days ahead he will probably be hurt by this action even more... and they won't care.

Most people don't understand PTSD, but I do personally having struggled with it myself from Vietnam. I totally understand the emotions expressed in the entire story about the good marine below, if you read the whole story on the link.

PTSD is just as real a wound as any physical wound. This would be like holding up a marine with a severe and openly bleeding wound... showing that picture of the suffering marine... then using that to justify pulling our troops from the field of battle.

This would bring outrage, just like this story should bring outrage, esp. if this is used to forge a future direction to our military's efforts in Afghanistan.

U.S. official resigns over Afghan war
Foreign Service officer and former Marine captain says he no longer knows why his nation is fighting

When Matthew Hoh joined the Foreign Service early this year, he was exactly the kind of smart civil-military hybrid the administration was looking for to help expand its development efforts in Afghanistan.

A former Marine Corps captain with combat experience in Iraq, Hoh had also served in uniform at the Pentagon, and as a civilian in Iraq and at the State Department. By July, he was the senior U.S. civilian in Zabul province, a Taliban hotbed.

But last month, in a move that has sent ripples all the way to the White House, Hoh, 36, became the first U.S. official known to resign in protest over the Afghan war, which he had come to believe simply fueled the insurgency.

"I have lost understanding of and confidence in the strategic purposes of the United States' presence in Afghanistan," he wrote Sept. 10 in a four-page letter to the department's head of personnel. "I have doubts and reservations about our current strategy and planned future strategy, but my resignation is based not upon how we are pursuing this war, but why and to what end."

The reaction to Hoh's letter was immediate. Senior U.S. officials, concerned that they would lose an outstanding officer and perhaps gain a prominent critic, appealed to him to stay.

U.S. Ambassador Karl W. Eikenberry brought him to Kabul and offered him a job on his senior embassy staff. Hoh declined. From there, he was flown home for a face-to-face meeting with Richard C. Holbrooke, the administration's special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan.

"We took his letter very seriously, because he was a good officer," Holbrooke said in an interview. "We all thought that given how serious his letter was, how much commitment there was, and his prior track record, we should pay close attention to him." ....

Moses demonstrates for the people the miraculous power of Yahweh and shares the desire of Yahweh to deliver Israel from their captivity… and what is the specific point that scripture makes about Israel’s response?

They believed that Yahweh had seen them in their misery…

“The people believed, and when they heard that the LORD had paid attention to them and that He had seen their misery, they bowed down and worshiped.”

Remember now, for Yahweh to see means that Yahweh embraces with understanding… therefore, Yahweh Seeing being the equivalent of Yahweh Providing.

The Hebrews believed that Yahweh had seen their misery… and their natural response to that belief was… worship.

Where we worship is of less importance than how we worship.

If we leave our prayer closet or our cathedral and have not been affected by the presence of The Holy God, we have only shown up, not worshiped. The writer of 1 Chronicles 16:29 gives this advice:

Moral outrage is the intersection of morality and deep seated convictions. As Americans our decision to speak out or remain silent, act with conviction or step back, will create the world our children will inherit.

Were it not for moral outrage America would be under British rule and the Emancipation Proclamation would never have been penned. Moral outrage, by its very definition, is the intersection of morality and deep seated convictions. The following are 10 reasons for moral outrage:

1. Our forefathers acknowledged our creator God in the Declaration of Independence, but we are forbidden to acknowledge him in our public schools.

2.Our entertainment industry glamorizes sexuality yet is held unaccountable despite the rising rate of out-of-wedlock teenage pregnancies.

3. Moral relativism continues to reign in our public schools even though a nation reaps the results of such relativism with unprecedented greed on Wall Street.

4. 39.8 million people live below the poverty line in America -- over 14.1 million of them are children -- yet close to 100 billion pounds of food is wasted each year.

5. There have been over 50 million abortions since Roe vs. Wade became the law of the land with the vast majority being for no other reason than simple birth control.

6. Darwinism is taught as fact while Creationism is excluded from the American classroom.

7. More Christians were killed for their faith in the 20th century than in the entire history of Christianity.

8. A cross erected in 1934, at a WWI memorial site in the Mojave Desert, is currently at the center of a debate over whether or not its presence violates the Constitution.

9. The Ten Commandments have been taken from our court houses.

10. The community of faith is, in large measure, quiet and complacent.

It has been said that all that is needed for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing. Ultimately we will be judged not by our titles or bank accounts but by something far more sacred. Future generations hang in the balance. Whether we speak out or remain silent, act or step back will create the inheritance we bequeath.

Hey, this is the Chaplain again. I saw a bumper sticker that said,

"He who dies with the most toys wins."

That’s so tragically sad, but a lot of folks seem to believe it. Or at least the way they live sure indicates that they believe it. And a lot of Christians have been caught up in that mindset.

We have just got to have a new . . . whatever. Can I tell you something, just because your neighbor has one, just because the ads on TV say you can’t live without it, doesn’t make it so. We have become obsessed with stuff; things that we just have to have. Not because we need them, no; because we want them.

May I tell you the truth, many of us as Christians have lost our eternal perspective. Our vision is on the here-and-now and not on the hereafter. May I remind you of what Jesus said,

“Don't hoard treasure down here... Stockpile treasure in heaven, where it's safe from moth and rust and burglars. It's obvious, isn't it? The place where your treasure is, is the place you will most want to be.” (Mat. 6:19-21 the Message)

And what are the treasures we can have in heaven? Souls, the eternal souls of people that we influence for the Lord. People that will spend eternity in heaven because of our efforts to lead them to Christ. So let me ask you, are you collecting stuff for yourself, or souls for Jesus?

The Ongoing War On Fox

Escalation: White House Tries to Exclude Fox From Press Pool Interview

There was a point a week ago after the White House began its first attacks on Fox News, when it might have been considered amusing to watch. Now it is now. When the White House led by this president can even attempt to stifle media coverage of this administration on any level...... that is a serious transgression of our basic freedoms in my estimation.

And the American media and the American people should be standing up and collectively shouting ...."like hell you do! We won't stand still for that!" It is literally unimaginable to me, that an act as egregious as this could even occur, much less that it has been given less than casual lip service in the media by any agency other than Fox since it occurred.

To their credit, the rest of the White House media Pool immediately balked and refused to participate if Fox was to be excluded.

The White House sent out an alert today to the press pool that "Pay Czar" Kenneth Feinberg would be doing a press availability— a round robin with the major news networks, in which Fox is customarily included. The administration specified that everyone was invited except Fox News, according to Bret Baier on "Special Report" tonight.

The press pool, acting in the interest of its members, admirably stood up to the White House bullying. All the other networks declared that if Fox was not getting an interview, they would not be conducting interviews. The White House responded by cutting Feinberg's time with the networks from five minutes to two minutes.

Even so, the White House continued to press its arrogance in dealings with the media in the pool by cutting the time allotted for their precious Czar to be made available to media for questions. And that was done in retaliation against their favored liberal media pool.

Ladies and gentlemen? There is something very very wrong going on inside the Obama administration. From their attempts to isolate and control media at their whim, to White House officials openly bragging about how they have successfully manipulated media to their own advantage since last years election. To their going on national Sunday programs to basically admit their prejudices and declare so what when questioned about it.

While there may be those who are presently considered alarmist and even conspiracist as it concerns this administration, the reality of what is going on in this administration and how business in being conducted by this White House is inescapable. And the sense that we have a renegade administration, answerable to no one except the approved elect of liberal socialist elitism is palpable IMO.

The media polls today reflect that this president has lost more public support faster than any previous president of the past fifty years. In light of this administration's treatment of the press and the White House attempts to isolate and control all information concerning this president and his policies? Is there really any doubt that he apparently could care less what main stream liberal press has to say about him. His focus and concern is obvious centered on Fox and as obvioused by the past week, he intends to demonize Fox and deny them any opportunity to participate in day to day reporting on this White house.

There are many parallels and analogies that can be draw to the history of the 1930's IMO, but I will leave those analogies to my readers to sort through and assign value to on their own. Never the less, the people of this country had better begin to stand up and defend their freedoms and they have better start doing it very soon IMO, or else we may soon wake up to a literal "coup de etat" of all freedom of the press.

The white house is trying to forge a totally complicit press...

Well, well, well! The truth is finally coming out about the drive behind the "Climate Change" legislation called "Cap and Trade" and the ulterior motive behind it.

Kirsten E. Gillibrand, is the current senator from New York State that replaced Hillary Clinton. This is a United States Senator that is finally telling the truth that we peons have been trying to get out since the beginning of the "Cap and Trade" movement.

And, the truth is, "Cap and Trade" is all about MONEY... and lots of it.

It is amazing to me that Senator Gillibrand is so forthright in her declaration about the purpose of "Cap and Trade" legislation... it is to open the doors of opportunity to billions and billions of dollars (EDIT: THREE TRILLION DOLLARS ACTUALLY!) to be made in the forced replacing of carbon energy.

They will use the abuse of children for their greedy purposes as demonstrated in this post and clearly laid out here by the good Senator.

If you read carefully you will actually see that she unashamedly touts controlling who can participate in the carbon credit scheme. She is "selling" the idea to New York and Wall Street on the basis that they are uniquely poised to gain control of the carbon credit scheme... and shut out all others.

Here we have a United States Senator admitting that legislation and legislators in Washington DC are in total and evil collusion with big industry to force the carbon credit market by national law... and then to reward those they chose to reward with the billions of dollars to be made when they shove this evil legislation down America's and the rest of the world's throat.

This is both unconstitutional and wicked. The ones who will suffer the most are the poorest in our country and the world.

This is a remarkable admission and should serve for the impeachment of every legislator that supports this assault on all of humanity.

Cap and Trade Could Be a Boon to New York
The city is uniquely positioned to benefit from a global market in carbon emissions.

Over the past year, the economic crisis has devastated the financial services industry that fueled New York's boom years. The ripple effect from Wall Street is still being felt, as unemployment has risen to 10.3% in New York City.

In this turmoil, it may seem hard to imagine a financial market poised to deliver significant growth. However, a rising number of investors and financiers see one in the trading and reduction of carbon. According to financial experts, carbon permits could quickly become the world's largest commodities market, growing to as much as $3 trillion by 2020 (Notice first the appeal to greed) from just over $100 billion today. With thousands of firms and energy producers buying and selling permits to emit carbon, transaction fees for exchanges and clearing alone could top nearly half a billion dollars.

If Congress establishes proper oversight of a carbon market, New York's financial talent, expertise and institutions are uniquely suited to provide the tools and innovation for a new commodities market of this size. Firms wishing to invest over the long term will need to turn to our financial sector to create the emerging products and provide the capital that would allow them to make green energy investments.....(Notice the open greedy bait to control the carbon market... and the word control is a key word here.)

.... As a member of the Senate Environment, Agriculture, and Foreign Relations Committees—all of which will have a lead role in the development of climate change legislation—I am focused on several core principles to ensure effective oversight of this new market and help New York seize this opportunity..... (She openly admits here that as an elected official with a leading role in climate legislation that she will work to not only pass the legislation, but also direct the oversight of the consequence of said legislation to specific institutions. This is collusion of government and industry... brazenly announced.)

.... Carbon is a commodity derivative, and the new carbon market must conform to the broader commodity derivatives oversight that President Barack Obama and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner have outlined. Congress should integrate carbon trading into comprehensive financial reform.... ("Congress integrate carbon trading into financial reform"... more direct and admitted control.)

.... New York will be positioned to gain market share in this growing marketplace ("Will be positioned to gain"... read I will see to it that we get our control.) due to its superior and substantial financial talent and expertise....

...Some have suggested that we mandate exchange trading of carbon-related derivatives, effectively requiring standardization of all derivatives. In order to trade on an exchange, a derivative contract must be highly standardized. As a result, such a requirement would effectively ban customized derivatives. ("effectively BAN customized derivative." Read here, "We will stifle and eliminate all competition.")

Closing off these markets to customized contracts would block carbon emitters from the products they need to hedge costs and fund long-term carbon reduction projects.... (This is an open acknowledgment that the government will stop all necessary resources to any that might try to compete in what used to be an "open market" place... what we used to know as the "Free Enterprise System.")

... it is essential to the long-term success of climate-change legislation and the ultimate benefit for New York that the market for carbon-emissions permits is internationally integrated. (Interpreted this means that congress and their latch-key industries will control the carbon credits industry for the entire world.) We should encourage the use of international offsets, such as reforestation projects in South America, which will drive investments in the most efficient reductions and allow firms in the U.S. to capitalize on their innovative practices across the globe. (Another open admission to a global control of energy futures.)

New York and the U.S. have a lot to gain from our efforts to combat climate change, and a lot to lose if we fail.

This speech by the Senator is the most brazen acknowledgment of government collusion with industry that could ever be imagined.

The FBI has released the stats on 2008's assaults on law enforcement personnel in the United States of America. 58,792 officers were assaulted while on duty... last year.

In many ways this is the official, yet unreported, war that goes on 24/7 in our own land.

Every day, when your law enforcement officer goes to "work" he/she straps on a weapon... is prepared to use it... and walks out onto a battle field where nothing less than life and death is at stake... every day.

FBI Releases 2008 Statistics on Law Enforcement Officers Killed and Assaulted

According to information released today by the FBI, 41 law enforcement officers were feloniously killed in the line of duty last year; 68 officers died in accidents while performing their duties; and 58,792 officers were assaulted while on duty....

Felonious Deaths

The 41 felonious line-of-duty deaths took place during 38 separate incidents. All 38 incidents have been cleared by arrest or exceptional means.....

Circumstances: Of the 41 officers feloniously killed, 9 of the slain officers were involved in arrest situations; 8 were performing traffic stops; 7 were investigating suspicious persons/circumstances; 7 were involved in tactical situations (e.g., high-risk entry); 6 were ambushed; 2 were performing investigative duties; 1 was handling, transporting, or maintaining custody of a prisoner; and 1 was answering a disturbance call.

Weapons: Offenders used firearms to kill 35 of the 41 victim officers. Of these 35 officers, 25 were slain with handguns, 6 with rifles, and 4 with shotguns. Four officers were killed with vehicles that were used as weapons, and 2 officers died from injuries as a result of a bomb....

Accidental Deaths

Of the 68 law enforcement officers killed in accidents while performing their duties in 2008, the majority of officers accidentally killed (39 officers) were the result of automobile accidents....

Assaults

In 2008, 10,110 law enforcement agencies reported that 58,792 officers were assaulted while performing their duties. Of the officers assaulted in 2008, 26.1 percent were injured. The largest percentage of victim officers (32.0) were assaulted while responding to disturbance calls (family quarrels, bar fights, etc.). Assailants used personal weapons (hands, fists, feet, etc.) in 80.7 percent of the incidents, firearms in 3.8 percent of incidents, and knives or other cutting instruments were used in 1.6 percent of the incidents. Other types of weapons were used in 13.9 percent of assaults....

Sunday, October 18, 2009 was the world premier of the film, Not Evil Just Wrong. Irish journalist Phelim McAleer, who is one of the film's producers and directors, calls it "the movie that Al Gore and Hollywood don't want you to see." Why? Because Not Evil Just Wrong directly challenges what Gore's film An Inconvenient Truth presents as irrefutable evidence of global warming.

Not Evil Just Wrong shows how the children in the U.K. are being traumatized with frightening scenarios of drowning people and cuddly polar bears dying by the numbers. Viewers of the film, almost 10,000 were logged into just one of the over 1,400 premier showing venues, watched in horror as bright young faces darkened when asked about Global Warming in their school classrooms. The chat among the viewers was noticibly hostile to this tactic and caused most to agree that Al Gore and his Climate Change Cult were Evil AND Wrong. "How can they claim any ethics when they traumatize children so heartlessly?" one viewer asked. How, indeed, especially in the face of irrefutable evidence that global warming is not happening, and that climate change always happens, regardless of what man does.....

There should be congressional action to stop this abuse of children... if congress had a shred of decency about themselves.

It's all in the name of punishing the developed countries for their advancement and to make the "green technology" tycoons rich... at the expense of the, "Least of these, My Children," as Jesus said.

CNN Poll: Half the country disagrees with Obama on issues

WASHINGTON (CNN) – For the first time since he took over in the White House, Americans don't see eye to eye with President Barack Obama on the important issues, according to a new national poll. But the CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey does indicate that a majority approve of how Obama's handling his duties as president.

According to the poll, which was released Tuesday, 48 percent of people questioned say that they agree with Obama on the issues that matter most to them, with 51 percent saying no. That's a switch from April, when 57 percent said they agreed with the president on important issues, with 41 percent disagreeing.

"Obama is facing crunch time on a number of controversial issues, from health care to financial regulation to cap and trade to Afghanistan," says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. "The fact that most Americans no longer agree with him on important issues makes his task harder."

The tsunami is swelling.

Journalism is at risk according to the Columbia University Journalism School.

Well... I'm in total agreement... that journalism is at risk.... except giving papers tax breaks, etc is not the answer.

The answer is for "journalists" to once again become "journalists" and refuse to be simple propaganda mimes for this administration in Washington DC.

Report urges action to preserve journalism

NEW YORK (AP) - Journalism is at risk and American society must act to preserve it. That's a key message in a new report co-authored by Len Downie, former executive editor of The Washington Post.

In a paper commissioned by the Columbia University Journalism School, Downie and Michael Schudson, a Columbia professor, argue the government, universities and nonprofit foundations should step in as newspapers suffer financially.

Among other steps, the authors recommend that the government ensure the tax code allows local news outlets to operate as non-profits. They urge philanthropic organizations to support local reporting. And they suggest a fund be established using fees from telecom or Internet providers for grants to innovative local news groups.

You might take FOX news as an example of a news group dedicated to "journalism" and not becoming the propaganda arm of the government.

Gates: Afghanistan war strategy should come first

The Obama administration needs to decide on a war strategy for Afghanistan without waiting for a government there to be widely accepted as legitimate, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Monday.

Gates' comments put him at odds with top White House and NATO officials who are balking at ordering more troops and other resources to Afghanistan until the disputed election crisis there is resolved.

The Pentagon chief called the Afghan elections—and the larger issues of curbing corruption in its government—"an evolving process."

"We're not just going to sit on our hands, waiting for the outcome of this election and for the emergence of a government in Kabul," he told reporters en route to Tokyo.

"The outcome of the elections and the problems with the elections have complicated the situation for us. But the reality is, it's not going to be complicated one day and simple the next," he said. "We're going to have to work with this going forward, and I believe the president will have to make his decisions in the context of that evolutionary process." ....

Letterman refused to pay his alleged blackmailer. Obama should say no to Big Pharma, the insurers and the AMA

Last January, as I understand it, the White House promised Big Pharma, big insurance, and the American Medical Association the moral equivalent of what Joel Halderman allegedly demanded of David Letterman: hush money. The groups agreed to stay silent or even be supportive of healthcare reform, as long as they were paid off.

But now that it's time to collect, the bill is larger than the White House expected, and it's going to fall like an avalanche on middle class Americans in coming years. That could mean an ugly 2012 election (read Sarah Palin).

So the President has to do what Letterman did: Refuse to pay.....
