Daily Nugget

Today's cherished nugget from guest blogger, Pastor Bill.
"Christian action is not of ourselves; it is the spirit of Christ operating in our lives" (Anonymous).
When someone compliments us for anything we have achieved or anything we said that impacted them, we can’t claim credit since it is Christ living in us that makes the difference.
Supporting the message of Christ’s living within us, the apostle Paul shares this thought with us in Galatians 2:20: “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
God, thank You for all You do in and through us. Amen.

Yahweh, Day 145

Day 145, Yahweh: What Do You Truly Value?
"Do you not know? Have you not heard? Yahweh is the everlasting God, the Creator of the whole earth."
Isaiah 40:27-30 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
The pressures to conform to societal “norms” are exerted by those least worthy to deserve a following.  Their methods always resort to some form of fear or intimidation.
"He reduces princes to nothing and makes the judges of the earth to be irrational. They are barely planted, barely sown, their stem hardly takes root in the ground when He blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind carries them away like stubble."
Isaiah 40:23-24 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
In the end their fear and coercion comes to nothing ... especially when compared to the very One to whom they will give their account to.  To whom much is given ...
This is in The Name.
Intercessory Prayer:  Oh Father!  Help us to see that You are The Judge … and give us a heart that longs for Your favor … alone.  In Jesus Name.  Amen.

Christ is the head of this house, the unseen guest at every meal, the unseen listener to every conversation.
At the end of every day, the unseen guest in our home knows our actions and our reactions. We must learn in all situations that we are watched by an impartial witness. Let us live knowing He sees our every move, hears our every heartbeat, feels our every emotion. Remember the words of the apostle Paul in Romans 14:12: “So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.”
God, help my heart always to make You welcome.  Amen.

Yahweh, Day 144

Day 144, Yahweh: Enthroned Above the Circle of the Earth
"Do you not know? Have you not heard? Yahweh is the everlasting God, the Creator of the whole earth."
Isaiah 40:27-30 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
The inspired writer knew something that it took the rest of humanity several thousand years to understand.
The earth was a … circle.
"Have you not considered the foundations of the earth? God is enthroned above the circle of the earth"  Isaiah 40:21-22 (HCSB)
God's revelation is not restricted by man's drought of understanding.  The creator knows His creation well.
Our challenge is to ask God to open our understanding so that we might grasp that which Yahweh has revealed.
Have you not heard?
This is in The Name.
Intercessory Prayer:  Oh Father!  Open our eyes … open our ears … that we might see and hear … with understanding … that which You have said.  In Jesus Name.  Amen.

Every man gets on the wrong road at times. He comes down hills, rough roads, and dangerous detours. What he does when he meets these obstacles determines his destiny. The world never hears from those who look for a place to sit down and quit.
We must get up today and turn ourselves toward the task God has set before us. We must be willing to march toward the destiny God's leadership will takes us in our lives.
God, let me follow You and become the man You need for my family, my church, my country, and Your kingdom. Amen.
