Daily Nugget

Monday June 22, 2015, Today's cherished nugget from guest blogger, Pastor Bill.
“We should not be upset when unexpected and upsetting and discouraging things happen. God in his wisdom means to make something of us which we have not yet attained and is dealing with us accordingly” (J. I. Packer).
The twists and turns of life do not surprise God. He is working behind the scenes for our benefit. The apostle Paul in Romans 8:28 reminds us, “All things work together for good to them that love God, that are called according to His purpose.”
God, how awesome that we are in Your plan. Amen.

Yahweh, Day 126

Day 126, Yahweh: His Name Cometh #4
27 Look, Yahweh comes from far away, His anger burning and heavy with smoke. His lips are full of fury, and His tongue is like a consuming fire. 28 His breath is like an overflowing torrent that rises to the neck. [He comes] to sift the nations in a sieve of destruction and to put a bridle on the jaws of the peoples to lead [them] astray. 29 Your singing will be like that on the night of a holy festival, And [your] heart will rejoice like one who walks [to the music] of a flute, going up to the mountain of the Lord, to the Rock of Israel. 30 And the Lord will make the splendor of His voice heard and reveal His arm striking in angry wrath and a flame of consuming fire, in driving rain, a torrent, and hailstones. 31 Assyria will be shattered by the voice of the Lord. He will strike with a rod. 32 And every stroke of the appointed staff that the Lord brings down on him will be [to the sound] of tambourines and lyres; He will fight against him with brandished weapons. 33 Indeed! Topheth has been ready for the king for a long time now. His funeral pyre is deep and wide, with plenty of fire and wood. The breath of the Lord, like a torrent of brimstone, kindles it.
Isaiah 30:27-33 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
Resuming now from day 113 … the reality of Yahweh's Name that is coming ...
Do the above verses strike you as being a little uncomfortable?  As Yahweh expresses His Judgments against the evil of the day … we find Israel ... rejoicing?
We shall consider this for the next two days ... the cry of "Hallelujah" by the Lord's people ... as Yahweh makes "the splendor of His voice heard..."
It's in The Name.
Intercessory Prayer:  Yahweh, for the honor and respect of Your Great Name … give us eyes to see and ears to hear … and enough spiritual discernment to recognize the sound of Your Voice that has come … in this our day.  In Jesus Name.  Amen.

“Neutrality is at times a graver sin than belligerence” (Louis D. Brandeis, 1856–1941).
How many times have you thought later, “I wish I had said this or that”?  Or… have you said, “I should have said something.” Not saying many times is viewed as agreement with, and when we just say nothing when "squeaky wheels" are getting the grease, our point of view is lost.
Listen to the words of the writer of James 5:12: “Let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.”
God, let us not keep silent concerning You and Your Commandments. Amen.

Yahweh Day 125

Day 125, Yahweh: Trust... Forever

"Trust in the Lord forever, because in Yah, the Lord, is an everlasting rock!"
Isaiah 26:4 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

There really aren't many guarantees in this world that hold up to the test of time. At best... most are vain boasts.

Yahweh offers us a guarantee that He says is good... forever.

It's in The Name.

"Knowledge begins with wondering. Set a child to wondering and you have put him on the road to understanding" (Samuel Pierpont Langley, 1834–1906).
As the school year drews to an end, I want to thank all the teachers who set me to wondering from my parents and others who taught me early in Sunday School; to my wife, the teacher who helps mold me today; and to all others in between. I especially want to thank those who not only set me to wondering, but kept me from "wandering" on the wrong path. Remember the words of the writer of Proverbs 22:5: “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
We may not see the end results, but we can trust The Lord.
God, thank You for those who not only put me on the right path, but also re-directed my path, including You. Amen
