“There are no days when God’s fountain does not flow.”
Richard Owen Roberts

Isn’t it great? Before we were awakened this morning, God was waiting to pour out His love, mercy, and grace upon us. As we slept, He watched over and protected us.

As we did with our children, we can only imagine Him watching as we slept, thinking how sweet we looked as we lay there sleeping. He is very fond of us, don’t you know?

We must let Him drip His love on us. God has told us,
“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.”
Revelation 21:6

"God, thank You for Your blessings You pour out on us daily. l chose to drink of Your love from the fountain of the living water You so freely give.

Stay tuned for the next MAN MADE disaster coming near you!

So... now... every time there is a "natural disaster" we are expected to "believe" that it is the result of "climate change" and it is of course the developed West that is responsible for 99% of all these formally "natural disasters" that are now "man made" disasters.

CLIMATE-CHANGE DISASTERS KILL 300,000 A YEAR

LONDON – Climate-change disasters kill around 300,000 people a year and cause about $125 billion in economic losses, mainly from agriculture, a think-tank led by former U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan reported Friday.

The Global Humanitarian Forum also estimated that 325 million people are seriously affected by climate change — a number it says will double by 2030, as more people are hit by natural disasters or suffer environmental degradation caused by climate change.

"Climate change is a silent human crisis," Annan said in a statement. "Yet it is the greatest emerging humanitarian challenge of our time."

The report suggests that rising sea levels, desertification and changing rainfall patterns are reducing many people's access to safe drinking water and food. This in turn increases diarrhea, malaria and malnutrition.

The report said 99 percent of all people who die due to climate-change related causes live in developing countries, even though those countries generate less than 1 percent of total emissions of greenhouse gases responsible for global warming....

Nothing but rabid lies and propaganda... with a totally complicit msm playing the mime.

“Let’s not kid ourselves. Our birthright as Americans, if it is anything, is independence. It’s up to us to see that we don’t sell that birthright for a barrel of oil.”
Walter J. Hickel, governor of Alaska 1966-1969, secretary of the interior, 1969-1970

As we find our grandchildren and great-grandchildren being hocked to the gills for some instant gratification of some folks who will never pay for what they are doing to our country, we are very close to seeing what Hickel meant by that quote.

I pray for revival in our land to restore Jehovah God to His rightful place in our country, our homes, and our hearts.

The writer of Proverbs reminds us:
“Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.”

NATIONAL SALES TAX GAINING GROUND

...but not in the manner that candidate Huckabee wanted, which was to do away with the IRS and the income tax... and replace it with a National Sales Tax... no... this is a National Sales Tax ON TOP OF our current income taxes, and other taxes...

Once Considered Unthinkable, U.S. Sales Tax Gets Fresh Look

With budget deficits soaring and President Obama pushing a trillion-dollar-plus expansion of health coverage, some Washington policymakers are taking a fresh look at a money-making idea long considered politically taboo: a national sales tax.

Common around the world, including in Europe, such a tax -- called a value-added tax, or VAT -- has not been seriously considered in the United States. But advocates say few other options can generate the kind of money the nation will need to avert fiscal calamity.

At a White House conference earlier this year on the government's budget problems, a roomful of tax experts pleaded with Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner to consider a VAT. A recent flurry of books and papers on the subject is attracting genuine, if furtive, interest in Congress. And last month, after wrestling with the White House over the massive deficits projected under Obama's policies, the chairman of the Senate Budget Committee declared that a VAT should be part of the debate. ...

USA Today

IRS TAX REVENUE FALLS ALONG WITH TAXPAYERS' INCOME

Federal tax revenue plunged $138 billion, or 34%, in April vs. a year ago — the biggest April drop since 1981, a study released Tuesday by the American Institute for Economic Research says.

When the economy slumps, so does tax revenue, and this recession has been no different, says Kerry Lynch, senior fellow at the AIER and author of the study. "It illustrates how severe the recession has been."

For example, 6 million people lost jobs in the 12 months ended in April — and that means far fewer dollars from income taxes. Income tax revenue dropped 44% from a year ago.

"These are staggering numbers," Lynch says.

Big revenue losses mean that the U.S. budget deficit may be larger than predicted this year and in future years.

"It's one of the drivers of the ongoing expansion of the federal budget deficit," says John Lonski, chief economist for Moody's Investors Service. The Congressional Budget Office projects a $1.7 trillion budget deficit for fiscal year 2009.

The other deficit driver is government spending, which, the AIER's report says, is the main culprit for the federal budget deficit.

The White House thinks that tax revenue will increase in 2011, thanks in part to the stimulus package, says the report from AIER, an independent economic research institute. But it warns, "Even if that does happen, the administration also projects that government spending will be so much higher each year that large deficits will continue, and the national debt held by the public will double over the next 10 years."...

BILDERBERG GATHERING DRAWS ATTENTION

I sometimes wonder if these "elites" don't enjoy the anxiety they produce by meeting... as much or more than they enjoy the actual meetings themselves?

It my little tad of life experience, I think, that if there is a real group that "controls" world events, that group would be truly "nondescript" to the point of totally invisible. They would never put on such a public display of flash and pomp.

Now, this bunch might be a purposeful front and distraction... to keep prying eyes of the real players...

politico

A handful of high-ranking Obama administration officials this month delivered private briefings at the annual invitation-only conference held by an elite international organization known as the Bilderberg group.

The closed meeting of some of the most powerful business, media and political leaders in North America and Western Europe heard from top Obama diplomats James Steinberg and Richard Holbrooke, who detailed the administration’s foreign policy, while economic adviser Paul Volcker, chairman of President Obama’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board, also gave a presentation at the heavily guarded seaside resort in Greece that hosted the event.

The Bilderberg group, which takes its name from the Dutch hotel where it held its first meeting in 1954, exists solely to bring together between 100 and 150 titans of politics, finance, military, industry, academia and media from North America and Western Europe once a year to discuss world affairs.

Its ultra-exclusive roster of globally influential figures has captured the interest of an international network of conspiracists, who for decades have viewed the Bilderberg conference as a devious corporate-globalist scheme....

Ann Margaret and Richard

There really are many Hollywood elites that have supported the Veterans... even during Vietnam. Ann Margaret is one of them. I checked this story out on snopes and it proved true according to them.

So... the day after Memorial Day, I'll leave it with this parting smile of remembrance.

PS. I got to see Bob Hope live just a few years ago in Branson, MO... it was good.

snopes report

This is a good counter balance story to the "Jane Fonda Vietnam Woman Of The Year" story I have received many times in my e-mail.

Richard, (my husband), never really talked a lot about his time in Vietnam other than he had been shot by a sniper. However, he had a rather grainy, 8 x 10 black and white photo he had taken at a USO show of Ann Margaret with Bob Hope in the background that was one of his treasures.

A few years ago, Ann Margaret was doing a book signing at a local bookstore. Richard wanted to see if he could get her to sign the treasured photo so he arrived at the bookstore at 12 o'clock for the 7:30 signing.

When I got there after work, the line went all the way around the bookstore, circled the parking lot and disappeared behind a parking garage. Before her appearance, bookstore employees announced that she would sign only her book and no memorabilia would be permitted.

Richard was disappointed, but wanted to show her the photo and let her know how much those shows meant to lonely GI's so far from home. Ann Margaret came out looking as beautiful as ever and, as second in line, it was soon Richard's turn.

He presented the book for her signature and then took out the photo. When he did, there were many shouts from the employees that she would not sign it. Richard said, "I understand. I just wanted her to see it."

She took one look at the photo, tears welled up in her eyes and she said, "This is one of my gentlemen from Viet Nam and I most certainly will sign his photo. I know what these men did for their country and I always have time for 'my gentlemen.'"

With that, she pulled Richard across the table and planted a big kiss on him. She then made quite a to-do about the bravery of the young men she met over the years, how much she admired them, and how much she appreciated them. There weren't too many dry eyes among those close enough to hear She then posed for pictures and acted as if he were the only one there.

Later at dinner, Richard was very quiet.. When I asked if he'd like to talk about it, my big strong husband broke down in tears. "That's the first time anyone ever thanked me for my time in the Army," he said.

That night was a turning point for him. He walked a little straighter and, for the first time in years, was proud to have been a Vet. I'll never forget Ann Margaret for her graciousness and how much that small act of kindness meant to my husband.

I now make it a point to say "Thank you" to every person I come across who served in our Armed Forces.

Freedom does not come cheap and I am grateful for all those who have served their country.

"A man’s true value consists in his likeness to God. What gives value to his thoughts, his feelings, and his actions is the extent to which they are inspired by God, the extent to which they express the thought, the will, and the acts of God."
Paul Tournier (1898–1986)

You are of value to your fellowman as you reflect the likeness to God in your daily life.

Of all the advice we could give to our friends, neighbors and kin folks, the nuggets from God are most valuable. Paul gives us good advice in Philippians 4:8-9,
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.”

"Dear Lord, Give me wisdom and compassion in dealing with family and friends. Let me reflect your love every day. Amen."

Look for reasons to praise God, they are many and He is worthy.

Another solemn ceremony at the close of Memorial Day around the world.

RETIRING A SYMBOL: UNSERVICEABLE FLAGS BURNED AT MISAWA CEREMONY

Senior Airman Amy North, a color guard member at Misawa Air Base, Japan, salutes an American flag as it burns during a retirement ceremony Monday.

MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan — Each year, about the same time the nation pauses to honor its fallen military comrades, small groups gather on U.S. bases for a different sort of solemn ceremony.

Volunteers follow the strict guidance of U.S. Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, in retiring American flags that have become "no longer a fitting emblem for display."

And the preferred method of destruction might be a surprise to some: The flags are burned.

About 30 minutes before sunset Monday, members of Boy Scout Troop 14 gathered with the U.S. Air Force color guard detail at Misawa Air Base, Japan, to host this year’s ceremony.

Senior Airman Adam Hershey, one of the two color guard members to prepare the flag for retirement Monday, said for him the ceremony was special.

"Not all of us get to attend" this type of ceremony, he said of his fellow military members.

Fellow color guard teammember Senior Airman Amy North organized the event. She said she spent a lot of time researching the ceremony, which she compared to a funeral.

As Hershey and North prepped the flag in a series of deliberate moves, a narrator spoke to the few gathered around the fire.

"Tonight, we are not just burning a flag; we are retiring a symbol of America’s honor, courage and strength," the narrator said.

As the Scouts and their families looked on, North slowly marched the flag to the fire, bending to place it in the flames. She straightened and offered it a final salute.

President Regan on Memorial Day

"Once each May, amid the quiet hills and rolling lanes and breeze-brushed trees of Arlington National Cemetery, far above the majestic Potomac and the monuments and memorials of our Nation's Capital just beyond, the graves of America's military dead are decorated with the beautiful flag that in life these brave souls followed and loved.

This scene is repeated across our land and around the world, wherever our defenders rest. Let us hold it our sacred duty and our inestimable privilege on this day to decorate these graves ourselves -- with a fervent prayer and a pledge of true allegiance to the cause of liberty, peace, and country for which America's own have ever served and sacrificed.

Our pledge and our prayer this day are those of free men and free women who know that all we hold dear must constantly be built up, fostered, revered and guarded vigilantly from those in every age who seek its destruction.

We know, as have our Nation's defenders down through the years, that there can never be peace without its essential elements of liberty, justice and independence. Those true and only building blocks of peace were the lone and lasting cause and hope and prayer that lighted the way of those whom we honor and remember this Memorial Day.

To keep faith with our hallowed dead, let us be sure, and very sure, today and every day of our lives, that we keep their cause, their hope, their prayer, forever our country's own."

Sunday, May 24th. Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

A pastor was speaking to his people on the relationship between fact and faith. He said, “That you are sitting before me in this church—is fact. That I am standing here, speaking from this pulpit—is fact. That I believe anyone is listening to me—is faith!”

Whether you are a preacher, teacher or even parent, the quote above gives us food for thought. Is anyone really listening to me?

It is a matter of faith that we write or speak to others with the confidence the message is being received. Fortunately I sometimes get feedback in the form of seeing a life changed, or a person moving in the right direction. By faith let us continue to edify and encourage one another while we can.

1 Thessalonians 5:11-14 gives this advice,
“Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves. Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feeble minded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.”

"God let us by faith encourage those in our sphere of influence while we are able. God help me to remember the results are up to you. Amen."

Today Praise God early, often and heartily.

U.S. DEFENSE CHIEF LAUDS SOLDIER IN PINK BOXERS

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates on Thursday praised an Army soldier in eastern Afghanistan who drew media attention this month after rushing to defend his post from attack while wearing pink boxer shorts and flip-flops.

In fact, Gates said he wants to meet the soldier and shake his hand the next time he visits Afghanistan.

"Any soldier who goes into battle against the Taliban in pink boxers and flip-flops has a special kind of courage," Gates said in remarks prepared for a speech in New York.

"I can only wonder about the impact on the Taliban. Just imagine seeing that: a guy in pink boxers and flip-flops has you in his cross-hairs. What an incredible innovation in psychological warfare," he said.

Army Specialist Zachary Boyd, 19, of Fort Worth, Texas, rushed from his sleeping quarters on May 11 to join fellow platoon members at a base in Afghanistan's Kunar Province after the unit came under fire from Taliban positions.....

As parents, we are not always in the limelight so the rest of the world may not know who we are or what contributions we may have made to the lives of our children. However, if we look around us, we will see the results of what parents have taught their children, whether good or bad.

We must be careful with the seeds we are sowing because the fruits will be seen in the next generation.

"If you point these things out to the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, nourished by the words and faith and of the good teaching that you have followed. But have nothing to do with irreverent and silly myths. Rather, train yourself in godliness, for, the training of the body has a limited benefit, but godliness is beneficial in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come."

SOMALI JUSTICE... ISLAMIST STYLE

The dusty streets of Kismayo in Somalia echoed to the sound of a vehicle with loudspeakers summoning residents to a new form of public "entertainment" earlier this month.

People were being invited to see a man have his hand chopped off in a public park in the city.

The young man, Mohamed Omar Ismail, had been found guilty of stealing goods from another man's house.

That afternoon, hundreds of local people flocked to Freedom Park in order to see the amputation.

After a long wait, Mr Ismail was brought out in front of the people and an official started to read out the court decision from a piece of paper.

"The Islamic Sharia court of Kismayo district confirms that Mohamed Omar Ismail has been found guilty of stealing," the official announced.

"Mr Ismail stole 10 pairs of trousers, 10 shirts, eight other items and a bag. The value of all the items is estimated to be $90."

The official quoted a chapter from the Koran known as Surah Maida, verse 38, which is about stealing and relevant punishment.

He said that the verse decreed that punishment for stealing was that the right hand of the thief should be cut off.

A local journalist who witnessed the events unfold saw a shocked-looking Mr Ismail brought into the park.

His right hand was held up to the crowds. It was then laid on a table and severed immediately and without ceremony at the wrist.

The eyewitness told of his horror as the bloody body part was dangled by its index finger in front of the crowd to prove that punishment had been meted out.....

When others ask us to pray for them, that request is a matter of great importance.

We live in such a time of self-importance and self-sufficiency that if our friends ask us to pray for them, we can be assured that, more than likely, they have exhausted most other avenues. In other words, the comparison can go back to the difference between major surgery and minor surgery. It is minor surgery if others are going through it, but major surgery if I it is happening to me.

HERE IS SOME NEWS OUT OF PAKISTAN THAT HAS THE POTENTIAL OF BEING MAJOR NEWS

What this article represents is actually the first REAL step toward winning the war in Pakistan in the minds and hearts of the people. Until that war is won, there will be no lasting victory.

This is exactly what we have been waiting for. Now we pray that the cleric's ruling will stay firm... if so... the war on terror is over. It might take a while to do the "mop-up" work, but this could be the turning point in the entire mid-east.... that big.

PAKISTAN CLERICS DENOUNCE TALIBAN TACTICS
May 20, 2009
McClatchy-Tribune Information Services

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan -- Pakistani religious leaders and scholars Tuesday issued a strong denunciation of the tactics of Taliban militants, providing what could be major boost to the country's U.S.-backed battle against Islamic extremism.

The high-profile convention of clerics in the Pakistani capital was the second in three days to condemn suicide attacks and beheadings, two of the Taliban's favored tactics, as "haram," or contrary to Islam.

Both conventions also supported the Pakistani military offensive against Taliban in Swat and two adjoining districts, although almost all the clerics share the militants' goal of establishing Islamic law in Pakistan.

Pakistani public opinion has turned against religious extremists over the past few weeks, and if that shift is durable, it could prove to be a significant setback to the Taliban and their al-Qaida allies, not just in Pakistan but also in Afghanistan, the Persian Gulf and elsewhere in the Islamic world.....

Listen With Your Face

“To listen well is as powerful a means of influence as to talk well, and is as essential to all true conversation.”

I recently overheard one father telling a story about coming home after a hard day’s work and plopping down into his easy chair to relax with the newspaper.

One of his sons entered and started to tell him what he thought was a fairly important event in his day.

Dad “listened” to the story while continuing to scan the newspaper. Frustrated, the son burst out, “Dad, please put the paper down. I’m trying to tell you something.” “I’m listening, Son,” he said. “I could repeat everything back to you.” “But, Dad,” he pleaded, “I want you to listen with your face.”

Kids do say the darnedest and wisest things, don’t they?

I think of my own mannerisms and, like other multi-taskers, I always need to be doing two things at once – talking on the phone and writing, or organizing and straightening up while talking to a family member.

Some people feel that if they are not doing two things at one time, then they are not being productive – which can drive other people crazy!

Listen with your face. People want to see your eyes, which shows you are sincerely interested, and your facial response, which demonstrates participation – to know for sure that their words have been heard.

The first duty of love is to listen.

Truth spoken here.

Will sucking on a copper penny fool a breathalyzer machine? The answer is "no," the same answer to sucking on a nickel as some urban legends lead you to believe.

Rather than trying to live within the law, many people look for ways to try to fool the law. If these attempts were not true, we would not have a market for dozens of herbal remedies to fool alcohol and drug tests, or for that matter, a need for radar detectors.

A person gets to the point of trying to "fool" the enforcers of man’s laws because he has left off loving the laws of God and following His laws.

The Letter to the church of Ephesus reminds us:
“But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise.”

SCHWARZENEGGER SAYS HE'S HEARD VOTERS' ANGER

WASHINGTON – California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said Wednesday he's heard "loud and clear" a voter message to take care of deficits through budget cuts alone, without passing additional costs along to them.

Voters on Tuesday resoundingly rejected Schwarzenegger's package of budget-balancing measures that he promised would temporarily fix the state's financial crisis.

Instead, he now faces a $21.3 billion budget deficit.

Schwarzenegger said the state's residents have had to sell off motorcycles, second cars and hold garage sales to make ends meet in recent months. Now, they're telling state officials that the government has to shrink, too.

"Don't come to us for extra help. That was the message," Schwarzenegger said after a meeting with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. "And you know something. I appreciate that when you hear that from the people. It gives us a chance to go and adjust, and say 'OK, we went in the wrong direction. Now lets go in the right direction and lets go do what the people want.'...

A VERY DISTURBING LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT

You might ask why XtnYoda would find the joined letter signed by 76 US Senators... that's 76 out of 100... urging the president to keep the security of Israel in mind, would be very disturbing to XtnYoda?

Well... it's because it is very disturbing that 76 US Senators would feel the need to remind the president to keep Israel's security in mind. That tells XtnYoda that we have 76 US Senators that do not trust either the president's judgment, or worse yet, his intentions, about issues in the Middle East.

Very disturbing.

Dodd's page

Senators Chris Dodd (D-CT), Johnny Isakson (R-GA), Arlen Specter (D-PA), John Thune (R-SD) were joined by 72 of their Senate colleagues in writing to President Obama today, encouraging him to work towards achieving peace between Israel and its Arab neighbors in a manner that takes into full account the risks that Israel will face in any peace agreement....

In the letter to the President, the Senators wrote that the United States must recommit itself to its historic role as a trusted friend and mediator and that the United States must insist on Palestinian commitment to ending terrorist violence and to building the institutions for a viable Palestinian state living side-by-side, in peace with the Jewish state of Israel....

A copy of the letter appears below.

Dear Mr. President:

We are writing out of our shared concern over 60 years of conflict in the Middle East, and a mutual desire to see peace between Israel and its Arab neighbors. While the obstacles are formidable, we agree with you that every effort should be made to realize that peace.

Many years of strong, principled US engagement led to historic peace treaties between Israel and both Egypt and Jordan. We believe that achievement of a lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians requires adherence to some key principles. These include an understanding that while the United States has an important role to play, the parties themselves are the ones who will need to negotiate and live with whatever agreement is reached. As we work closely with our democratic ally, Israel, we must take into account the risks it will face in any peace agreement. Without a doubt, our two governments will agree on some issues and disagree on others, but the United States friendship with Israel requires that we work closely together as we recommit ourselves to our historic role of a trusted friend and active mediator.

We must also continue to insist on the absolute Palestinian commitment to ending terrorist violence and to building the institutions necessary for a viable Palestinian state living side-by-side, in peace with the Jewish state of Israel. The more capable and responsible Palestinian forces become, the more they demonstrate the ability to govern and to maintain security, the easier it will be for them to reach an accord with Israel. We encourage you to continue programs similar to the promising security assistance and training program led by Lieutenant General Keith Dayton, and hope that you will look for other ways to improve Palestinian security and civilian infrastructure.

Finally, we hope that you will promote far greater involvement and participation by the Arab states both in moving toward normal ties with Israel and in encouraging moderate Palestinian elements. Everyone in the region has a stake in the success of these negotiations and should contribute to a lasting and comprehensive resolution.

We look forward to working closely with you on these critical issues.

Wednesday, May 20th. Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

The Roman scholar Cato started to study Greek when he was over eighty. Someone asked why he tackled such a difficult task at his age. Cato said, “It’s the earliest age I have left.”

If we have not achieved our goals, or even started, now is the time. It is the earliest time we have left.

Every day is a gift, and we are stewards of that gift. The fact that God has given us another day, week, or year (this is my youngest daughter’s birthday) means He still has a purpose and plan for us. We must live life to the fullest so to learn something new and thereby increase our value to Him.

The Psalmist expresses that truth this way:
“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
Psalm 118:24
"God direct my paths and open my eyes to see the opportunities around me. Amen."

Give this day to God and see what He will do with it.
WELL NOW... THIS IS ALL OVER THE NEWS... ISN'T IT?

Oh... I guess the MSM has missed this report and trial of terrorists on American soil plotting to kill Americans?

whatever....

Heaven forbid that a story might leak out that the Bush team did an excellent job at protecting Americans... that there were actual plots that were foiled by our intelligence.

LIBERTY CITY SIX AL QAEDA CELL CONVICTED FOR CONSPIRACY TO KILL AMERICANS
May 19, 2009

After a three-month trial, a Miami jury convicted five men of multiple charges that include conspiring to provide material support to the al Qaeda terrorist organization and conspiracy to wage war against the U.S. by discussing and planning attacks on targets in the U.S., including the Sears Tower in Chicago and the FBI building and other federal buildings in Florida. A sixth defendant was acquitted on all counts....

The indictment charged four counts: conspiracy to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization, namely al Qaeda (Count 1); conspiracy to provide material support and resources to terrorists (Count 2); conspiracy to maliciously damage and destroy by means of an explosive (Count 3); and conspiring to levy war against the government of the U.S. (Count 4)....

According to evidence presented at trial, beginning in November 2005 and continuing to the date of their arrests, Batiste recruited and supervised individuals to organize and train for a mission to wage war against the U.S., including a plot to destroy the Sears Tower by explosives.....

But the word will get out somehow.

Spread the word.

SCIENTISTS UNVEIL MISSING LINK IN EVOLUTION

Scientists have unveiled a 47-million-year-old fossilised skeleton of a monkey hailed as the missing link in human evolution.

The search for a direct connection between humans and the rest of the animal kingdom has taken 200 years - but it was presented to the world today at a special news conference in New York.

The discovery of the 95%-complete 'lemur monkey' - dubbed Ida - is described by experts as the "eighth wonder of the world". They say its impact on the world of palaeontology will be "somewhat like an asteroid falling down to Earth".

Researchers say proof of this transitional species finally confirms Charles Darwin's theory of evolution, and the then radical, outlandish ideas he came up with during his time aboard the Beagle.

Sir David Attenborough said Darwin "would have been thrilled" to have seen the fossil - and says it tells us who we are and where we came from....

PELOSI'S APPROVAL RATING PLUMMETS
Posted by Foon Rhee, deputy national political editor May 18, 2009

Embattled House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has approval ratings nearly as low as Newt Gingrich when he was the primary lightning rod in Congress, a new poll says.

The CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey released this afternoon found that the approval of how Pelosi is doing her job as speaker has dropped from 51 percent in January to 46 percent in March to 39 percent now.

In the new survey, conducted Thursday through Sunday while Pelosi was embroiled in controversy over how much she was told about waterboarding of terrorist suspects, 48 percent of respondents said they disapproved of her performance.

Tuesday, May 19th. Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

A woman visiting New York City saw on the sidewalk a ragged, cold, and hungry little girl, gazing wistfully at some of the cakes in a shop window. The woman stopped and, taking the little one by the hand, led her into the store.

Though she was aware that bread might be better for the cold child than cake, yet, desiring to gratify the shivering and abandoned one, she bought and gave the little one a cake she wanted. Then, taking the child to another place, the woman purchased for the girl a shawl and other items of comfort.

The grateful little girl, holding the shawl against her cheeks, looked the woman right in the eyes, and with precious simplicity, asked, “Are you God’s wife?”

Can someone see the face in God in our eyes? if not, why not?

Paul wrote in the Book of Acts,
“...the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.”
(Acts 11:26)
As Christians today, we must reflect the love of God in all we do. We must be worthy of our calling as Christians. We must adhere to the beautiful hymn, "Let Others see Jesus in You."

Be a doer and not a hearer only.
XtnYoda is working on a Christian men's ministry model.

Here is a Code of Conduct for Christian men that I have modeled after the American Military's Code of Conduct. If it is good enough that American soldiers should pledge their lives for their country and God, then it ought to be appropriate for Christian men to do the same for God, and our Savior/King YahShua.
Gideon’s CORE, Code of Conduct

I am a Man of God, called by God with a Divine mandate to advance and defend Christ’s Kingdom. I am prepared to give my life in its defense and advancement.

I will never turn away from Christ’s call on my life. I will never forsake Christ’s body on earth, His Church, nor Her members. So help me God.

I will never surrender myself to any besetting sin. I will make every effort to restore a Christian who has been defeated by sin. I will accept neither temptation nor pleasure from sin as a favor from my enemy. So help me God.

Should I fall into temptation, I will submit myself to our church’s servant leaders for the appropriate steps to reconcile my actions. I will not seek to justify my sinful actions, nor will I cast blame to any other. So help me God.

When accused about my former failures I will agree with my adversary quickly. However, I will not allow former failures to give me permission for future failure nor prevent me from future service. I am a Man of God, I have been washed in the blood of YahShua, and forgiven. So help me God.

I will never forget that I am a Man of God, fighting for the freedom in God’s Truth. I am responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the Truths of Scripture, which offers freedom to all humanity. I will trust in no other testament. So help me God.

I will strive to have the same purpose and heart for all humanity as my Lord and Savior, YahShua. So help me God.

For the Honor of His Name.

Have you ever wondered just what it is that the American Military expects of it's personnel?

Well here is the US Military's article of the Code of Conduct.

Take a look. Ponder what you read. Ask yourself this question, "Would I be willing to make the same pledge?
THE SIX ARTICLES OF THE CODE OF CONDUCT

I am an American, fighting in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.

I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command, I will never surrender the members of my command while they still have the means to resist.

If I am captured, I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.

If I become a prisoner of war, I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners. I will give no information or take part in any action which might be harmful to my comrades. If I am senior, I will take command. If not, I will obey the lawful orders of those appointed over me, and will back them up in every way.

When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am required to give only my name, rank, service number, and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country and its allies or harmful to their cause.

I will never forget that I am an American, fighting for freedom, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America.
I wonder how many in our congress would be willing to take this pledge... and live up to it? How many in the White House? How many in the Federal Court System?

Every public servant in this nation should have to take this pledge... and mean it.

It is the pledge of every American fighting man and woman.

YOU HAVE A PRISONER WHO YOU KNOW KNOWS THE DETAILS ABOUT THE NEXT TERRORIST ATTACK ON YOUR COUNTRYMEN

...So you follow the latest political logic in dealing with terrorist prisoners and your effort to get crucial information from them.

"Ahmed, how are you doing today?"

"Very well, thank you."

"Is there anything I can get for you? Some water or some chips?"

"Oh, no thank you, I had a nice breakfast this morning."

"Did you get to talk to your lawyer last evening?"

"Yes, we had a very good conversation about the conditions here. He was pleased to hear that you are all taking such good care of me. He is also setting up a conference call with my family back in Jordan for this evening. I'm looking forward to visiting with my Mother and sister!"

"Good. Is there anything that you would like to talk with me about today? Anything that you would like to tell me about your friend's plans for the future?"

"No, I really don't feel like talking about any of that stuff today. You, know, it is just so confusing for everybody."

"OK, I think I understand... Please excuse me while I answer this call on my cell phone."

"OK"

(Long pause while the interrogator takes a phone call. In a few minutes the interrogator returns with a distressed look on his face.)

"Ahmed, I have some bad news."

"Oh, and what might that be?"

"It seems there has been another terrorist attack on our homeland. It seems there are several thousand American citizens that are dying from some sort of a nuclear dirty bomb that has been set off in Down Town LA! The news is sketchy right now, but we know there are about 20,000 people who are directly effected by the radiation blast."

"OH, praise be... I've been waiting for this good report."

"You mean to tell me that you knew that this was in the planning?"

"OH, yes. We have been planning this glorious attack for years, but I didn't think it was going to happen until tomorrow."

"Why didn't you tell me so we could have stopped this carnage?"

"Well, you are a nice guy and all, but you know, this is just who we are... nothing personal."

A majority of Americans now say they oppose abortion rights, according to a Gallup poll released today. It is the first time since the polling outfit began asking the question in 1995 that a majority of Americans have held that position.

Just over half, 51%, identified themselves as pro-life when asked in the survery, “With respect to the abortion issue, would you consider yourself to be pro-choice or pro-life?”

Some 42% identified themselves as pro-choice and support abortion rights.

The results were drawn from Gallup’s annual “Values and Beliefs” survey, and mark a notable shift from just last year, when 50% said they support abortion rights and 44% said they oppose them.

Prior to the latest survey, the high mark for those who identified themselves as pro-life was 46%, in August 2001 and again in May 2002.

Gallup finds the source of the shift coming almost exclusively from Republicans, which includes independents that lean Republican. Those identifying themselves as pro-life rose by 10 points, from 60% to 70%, in one year. There has been essentially no change in views among Democrats, including independents that lean Democratic.

House Minority Leader John Boehner makes the following statement in the video from FOX. He doesn't call for Pelosi to resign, but certainly lets her know that she should be responsible for her own words. Perhaps she will reveal to us that there is some "vast right wing conspiracy" that made her say what she said and that is why she is denying saying what she said.

What was it that Flip Wilson used to say...
"The devil made me do it!"

"Lying to Congress is a crime. Purposely misleading Congress is a crime. And if the speaker is accusing the intelligence community of lying to her or purposefully misleading her, then she ought to present that evidence, turn it over to the Justice Department, have them prosecute it," Boehner said.

“It seems strange that nothing could have been done for her,” someone was saying of a woman who had just died. “I have been told that she consulted some of the most eminent physicians in the country.”

“Oh, yes, she consulted them,” was the reply. “The trouble was that it ended there. She never took the advice they gave her.”

The same is true of a good many of us. It isn’t that we have had a lack of advice, but rather we have refused to take it.

Wow, how many of us fit this picture? We have God’s Word, The Bible in our hands, and yet many seldom take its advice. It is not enough to hear or read the words of God, we must obey His Word.

In the book of James we're told,
"But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.”
James 1:22-25

CHRISTIAN UNWELCOME HERE: THE MUSLIM WORLD IS BECOMING MORE INTOLERANT
Sunday, May 17, 2009

As the West continues to reach out to the Muslim world with a message of tolerance, some Muslim communities are growing increasingly intolerant toward people of other faiths. A case in point is Iraq, where Christians are being chased out of their homeland.

New research reported by Associated Press indicates that the number of Christians in Iraq has fallen to between half and one-third of the estimated population of 1.4 million before the first Gulf War. Christians have been fleeing the country after being targeted in sectarian attacks, and most find the general climate increasingly less accommodating. After a series of particularly violent anti-Christian attacks in Mosul last October, leaders of the Catholic Chaldean church and other Christian denominations wrote a protest letter stating that "it seems that Iraq is one step closer to becoming an Islamic state intolerant to non-Muslims."

The Taliban last week threatened Pope Benedict XVI, whom they call "the most important personality in the Christian world," with violence over "stupid and irresponsible acts of proselytism" they contend are being conducted in Afghanistan by "crusader" missionaries. This followed edited footage aired on al-Jazeera that appeared to show the military's top chaplain in Afghanistan, Lt. Col. Gary Hensley, encouraging troops to "hunt people for Jesus." Unedited footage released later showed the chaplain discussing in detail what constituted impermissible proselytizing and cautioning the troops not to cross the line.

For the Taliban, the mere presence of Christians in their country - not to mention Jews, Hindus and others - is anathema. Under current Afghan law - which is under the regime the United States and other Western countries are expending blood and treasure to defend - converting to another religion from Islam is a capital offense. Afghan aid worker Abdul Rahman, who converted to Catholicism, was allowed to flee to Italy after his arrest in 2006 created an international outcry.

During his recent tour of the Middle East, the pope denounced the "ideological manipulation of religion" and called for reconciliation between the various faiths. However, as the West promises, promotes and pleads for diversity, as national leaders travel to the Middle East to offer apologies and seek conciliation and fair play, the region answers them with faith-based apartheid. This is an issue President Obama cannot afford to ignore in his June 4 address to the Muslim world.

Sunday, May 17th. Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

Baylor University is a thriving institution in Beaumont, Texas. The Christian who gave the money for building that school later lost all his property. Men of the world asked him, “Don’t you wish you had the money back that you put into that school?”

He replied, “Not at all. It is all that I have saved. If I had kept that money, I would have lost it, too. I am thankful that I gave that building when I did.”

The world may judge us by what we do with the property God has placed in our keeping. Nevertheless, we should only be concerned with God’s estimation of our stewardship of His gifts.

What about the use of our voices? We talk about stewardship in terms of money and sometimes time. What about the use of our faculties? Are we good stewards with our thoughts and with the use of our voices? A day may come when we can no longer praise God out loud; at that time, we will have lost the voice God gave us to lift up His name in praise. We must remember the Psalmist's words:
“But we will bless the LORD from this time forth and for evermore. Praise the LORD.” (Psalm 115:18)

God, as long as You give me voice, I will praise and honor You. Keep my mind uncluttered from such things as worrying about what is or is not being done by my neighbor and keep me focused on the tasks You have given to me. Amen!

Praise God from Whom all blessings flow.

Two goats met one another upon a narrow plank set up across a river, so that they could not pass by without one thrusting the other off. If they had been human beings they would have argued about who had the right to survive. But the goats figured out how one could help the other and, at the same time, help itself. One lay down and let the other leap over it.

In our quest to be first, many times we find that no one wins. Let us be willing to step aside that we mighty win both physically as well as spiritually. Let us remember the lesson found in the Gospel of Mark:
“But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.”
Mark 10:31

God let me step aside that you might be glorified. Give me wisdom to esteem others higher than myself. (Luke 14:10)

Gingrich: Pelosi 'Lied,' 'Despicable,' 'Dishonest,' 'Vicious,' 'Trivial'
May 15, 2009 10:34 AM

Klein_2ABC News’ Rick Klein reports: Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich today offered a blistering critique of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s handling of oversight on harsh interrogation tactics, in a major escalation of partisan attacks being aimed at Pelosi.

In an interview with ABC News Radio’s Marcus Wilson, Gingrich, R-Ga., said Pelosi, D-Calif., “has lied to the House” in claiming that she was never briefed by the CIA about the Bush administration’s use of waterboarding and other harsh tactics.

"I think she has lied to the House, and I think that the House has an absolute obligation to open an inquiry, and I hope there will be a resolution to investigate her. And I think this is a big deal. I don't think the Speaker of the House can lie to the country on national security matters,” Gingrich said.

He continued: "I think this is the most despicable, dishonest and vicious political effort I've seen in my lifetime."

"She is a trivial politician, viciously using partisanship for the narrowist of purposes, and she dishonors the Congress by her behavior.".....
