Daily Nugget

Today's cherished nugget from guest blogger, Pastor Bill.
“The angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord”
 (Luke 2:10-11).
Now that is good, nay...Great news!  Merry CHRISTmas to you and your family.
God, thank You for the gift of love You sent to us.  Amen.

Daily Nugget

Today's cherished nugget from guest blogger, Pastor Bill.
“Although today he prunes my twigs with pain, Yet doth his blood nourish and warm my root: Tomorrow I shall put forth buds again And clothe myself with fruit” (Christina Georgina Rossetti 1830–1894).
The trials and corrections we go through are not always fun.  In fact, they are never fun; however, those trials are for our benefit. In Hebrews 12:11 the apostle Paul tells us: “Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.”
God, hide me behind the cross; let my only praise be reflected toward You. Amen.

Yahweh, Day 134

Day 134, Yahweh: A Solemn Question Asked
"Do you not know? Have you not heard? Yahweh is the everlasting God, the Creator of the whole earth."
Isaiah 40:27-30 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
After the appeal from Heaven to cry out the coming of Yahweh... one then asks a somber question... why?
"A voice was saying, "Cry out!" Another said, "What should I cry out?" "All humanity is grass, and all its goodness is like the flower of the field."
Isaiah 40:6 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
This is a breathtaking question. "Why should we?" asks the Heavenly Clarion? The Clarion goes on to establish that man is like grass ... withering and weak ... So ... why bother?
The answer is in the character of Yahweh ... not the virtue of any man.  We . Owe . Him . Everything.
This is in The Name.
Intercessory Prayer:  Oh gracious Father!  When will we ever learn that every blessing … and every mercy that we have ever received from Your hand … has been, and will be, the result of Your goodness … and Your goodness … alone?  In Jesus Name.  Amen.

Daily Nugget

Daily Nugget from guest blogger, Pastor Bill.
“I turn my little omelette in the pan for the love of God. When it is finished, if I have nothing to do, I prostrate myself on the ground and worship my God, who gave me this grace to make it, after which I arise happier than a king. When I can do nothing else, it is enough to have picked up a straw for the love of God” (Brother Lawrence, a cook in a monastery).
May we learn to give God the glory for each flop of the mop and sweep of the broom.  May we not only glorify Him for the strength to carry out the task, but also may we give Him the glory for the task itself to bring honor to Him.
Oh, Lord, thank You for each day and for its opportunities You put before us. Amen.

Yahweh, Day 133

Day 133, Yahweh: Prepare the Way!
"Do you not know? Have you not heard? Yahweh is the everlasting God, the Creator of the whole earth."
Isaiah 40:27-30 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
We would do well to learn to genuinely emulate the thrill of the crier announcing the coming of The One ... "A voice of one crying out: Prepare the way of the LORD in the wilderness; make a straight highway for our God in the desert." Isaiah 40:3 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
Can you sense the excitement is this exclamation?  “The King is coming ... the King is coming ... prepare the way for Yahweh!  Make sure His path is level and ... Perfect ... The King is coming!”
This is in The Name.  His Name cometh!
Intercessory Prayer:  Even so … Come Lord Jesus!  Maranatha!  For the Glory of Your Name!  Amen!
