Today's cherished nugget from guest blogger, Pastor Bill.
"No
man ever sank under the burden of the day. It is when tomorrow’s burden
is added to the burden of today that the weight is more than a man can
bear. Never load yourself so. If you find yourself so loaded, at least
remember this: it is your own doing, not God’s. He begs you to leave the
future to him and mind the present" (George Macdonald 1824–1905).
If
we knew what tomorrow would bring, we would either worry about what was
going to happen, worry about how to change it, or worry about what if
it doesn’t happen. Someone once said, “90% of what you worry about never
comes to pass.” Jesus reminded us in Matthew 6:34, “Take
therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought
for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”
God, thank you for handling the things I don’t need to worry about. Amen
