If one would click on the two links below one would find another natural reason for the "warming ocean" so often spoken of these days! This underwater volcano in only one of thousands that are now active under our planets oceans if one were to read up on this growing reality that is so little spoken of. Would one ever guess that such a dramatic release of volcanic heat into the oceans waters might possibly have some effect on the waters temperature?

When XtnYoda was just a lad he was taught in our classrooms that our planet was a dying planet and one evidence was what was called "Extinct" volcanoes. After the "rebirth" of formerly extinct volcanoes such as Mt. St. Helens, the term "extinct" was dropped and replaced with the term "Dormant Volcanoes". The planet earth is still very much a dynamic planet, and from the appearance of the dramatic increase in earthquakes and "un-extinct....formerly extinct" volcanoes we see that our planet still has the ability to affect itself...and that without our help.

How outdated is much of our thinking about under-ocean volcanic activity? Consider this article from October 16, 2005 where a University of Hawaii professor speculates that our former thinking may have been wrong about how long it takes for "under-ocean" rocks to form. Keep in mind the video that shows rocks being formed right in front of our eyes...not years!

Study revises view of ocean volcanoes

Rocks formed by underwater volcanoes are much younger than believed, indicating eruptions are more frequent than suspected, researchers led by a University of Hawaii-Manoa scientist have discovered.

Researchers had thought it took a few thousand years for rocks to form in the deep ocean, "but we know for most rocks we studied, it has to be" less, said Ken Rubin, geologist-geophysicist at the UH School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology. "We're talking about a handful of decades for most of these rocks."

Rubin's team used natural radioactive isotopes in young lava flows on the sea floor to model how long it takes for rock to melt and rise from beneath the Earth's crust to where it solidifies and builds up at the deep-sea ridge. The research shows rocks could be formed in about 100 years.

Their study was reported in the recent issue of the journal Nature.

Rubin said they started the project to determine the age of mid-ocean ridge basalts.

"We expected to find the opposite signature of what we found, and when we didn't, and when we went through all the possible ways to try to explain what we found, the only way we could explain it was in the mantle during melting."

He said this led to "a cascade of implications" about the length of time for rocks to percolate up from the mantle -- the layer between the Earth's crust and core -- and the time they spend in the crust, which "became shorter than people thought.

"Melts migrate very, very quickly up the mantle from the depths where they erupt," Rubin said, adding that magma may rise as much as six miles a year.

The findings suggest that mid-ocean volcanoes are erupting more often than believed, with rapidly fluctuating geological, biological and chemical conditions allowing unusual biological communities on the sea floor to thrive, Rubin said.

XtnYoda wonders, "What is it mankind is doing to cause this increase in volcanic activity? Surely it must be mankind's fault?"

Here is the beginning of the end for western civilization if allowed to go on without being addressed. It is wrapped under the label of "Legal Pluralism" as described in the following article about the rise of "legal pluralism" in England.

Sharia law is spreading as authority wanes

By Joshua Rozenberg, Legal Editor
Last Updated: 2:03am GMT 29/11/2006

Islamic sharia law is gaining an increasing foothold in parts of Britain, a report claims.

Sharia, derived from several sources including the Koran, is applied to varying degrees in predominantly Muslim countries but it has no binding status in Britain.

The Koran
The Koran is one of the sources that Sharia derives from

However, the BBC Radio 4 programme Law in Action produced evidence yesterday that it was being used by some Muslims as an alternative to English criminal law. Aydarus Yusuf, 29, a youth worker from Somalia, recalled a stabbing case that was decided by an unofficial Somali "court" sitting in Woolwich, south-east London.

Mr Yusuf said a group of Somali youths were arrested on suspicion of stabbing another Somali teenager. The victim's family told the police it would be settled out of court and the suspects were released on bail.

A hearing was convened and elders ordered the assailants to compensate their victim. "All their uncles and their fathers were there," said Mr Yusuf. "So they all put something towards that and apologised for the wrongdoing."

Although Scotland Yard had no information about that case yesterday, a spokesman said it was common for the police not to proceed with assault cases if the victims decided not to press charges.

However, the spokesman said cases of domestic violence, including rape, might go to trial regardless of the victim's wishes.

Mr Yusuf told the programme he felt more bound by the traditional law of his birth than by the laws of his adopted country. "Us Somalis, wherever we are in the world, we have our own law," he said. "It's not sharia, it's not religious — it's just a cultural thing."

Sharia's great strength was the effectiveness of its penalties, he said. Those who appeared before religious courts would avoid re-offending so as not to bring shame on their families.

Some lawyers welcomed the advance of what has become known as "legal pluralism".

Dr Prakash Shah, a senior lecturer in law at Queen Mary University of London, said such tribunals "could be more effective than the formal legal system".

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml;jsessionid=Y3UZA1RZGTHK5QFIQMFSFGGAVCBQ0IV0?xml=/news/2006/11/29/nsharia29.xml
Society is ultimately defined by the laws of that society. "Legal Pluralism" is simply a phrase to describe the changing of a culture to another culture. There cannot be two heads.

This is the beginning of the Muslim communities effort to take over another culture. Mark these words.

I've often wondered what atheists give thanks to at thanksgiving? I've made up a pretty ridiculous attempt at penning what might be said at the atheist's thanksgiving table...

Quote:
Dear Me,

How I thank Me for all the blessings that I have so bountifully lavished upon Myself this past year. I could have never achieved so much without My assistance.

I ask Me to continue My watch-care over Myself that I might bestow even more blessings upon Myself!

In the Name of Me, Myself, and I,

Reachforallthegustoyoucanget!

Truly we can give thanks to the Father for the bounty of His favored presence above all things. Thy Will be done, Thy Kingdom come...Honor Your Name in all the earth..."Universe...shout forth Praise to the King of Kings for the great things He has done."

Wanted: man to land on killer asteroid and gently nudge it from path to Earth

· Nasa evokes Hollywood in effort to avoid catastrophe

Bruce Willis in the 1998 film Armageddon

It is the stuff of nightmares and, until now, Hollywood thrillers. A huge asteroid is on a catastrophic collision course with Earth and mankind is poised to go the way of the dinosaurs.

To save the day, Nasa now plans to go where only Bruce Willis has gone before. The US space agency is drawing up plans to land an astronaut on an asteroid hurtling through space at more than 30,000 mph. It wants to know whether humans could master techniques needed to deflect such a doomsday object when it is eventually identified. The proposals are at an early stage, and a spacecraft needed just to send an astronaut that far into space exists only on the drawing board, but they are deadly serious. A smallish asteroid called Apophis has already been identified as a possible threat to Earth in 2036.

Chris McKay of the Nasa Johnson Space Centre in Houston told the website Space.com: "There's a lot of public resonance with the notion that Nasa ought to be doing something about killer asteroids ... to be able to send serious equipment to an asteroid.

"The public wants us to have mastered the problem of dealing with asteroids. So being able to have astronauts go out there and sort of poke one with a stick would be scientifically valuable as well as demonstrate human capabilities."

A 1bn tonne asteroid just 1km across striking the Earth at a 45 degree angle could generate the equivalent of a 50,000 megatonne thermonuclear explosion. Attempting to break it up with an atomic warhead might only generate thousands of smaller objects on a similar course, which could have time to reform. Scientists agree the best approach, given enough warning, would be to gently nudge the object into a safer orbit.

"A human mission to a near Earth asteroid would be scientifically worthwhile," Dr McKay said. "There could be testing of various approaches. We don't know enough about asteroids right now to know the best strategy for mitigation."

Matt Genge, a space researcher at Imperial College, London, has calculated that something with the mass, acceleration and thrust of a small car could push an asteroid weighing a billion tonnes out of the path of Earth in just 75 days...

STAUBLOG: Early Reactions to "Christian Wisdom of the Jedi Masters"

April 26th, 2005

Now that"Christian Wisdom of the Jedi Masters" has been out for a few weeks, I thought you might enjoy reading the variety of feedback posted online. Some reviewers did not read the book (I can tell). Others read it and were upset I didn’t write the book they wanted me to write (especially those looking for a theology of Star Wars book.). Just so you know. What I set out to write is a book that follows the arc of Luke Skywalker’s story from a clueless kid in the desert to Jedi Knight (via Obi-wan and Yoda) AND shows how Luke’s journey is analogous to the disciple who follows Jesus. People who wanted THAT BOOK ARE GIVING THIS BOOK HIGH MARKS INDEED!

SO STRAP ON YOUR SEATBELTS—HERE WE GO!...

A talking Jesus doll has been turned down by the Marine Reserves' Toys for Tots program.

A suburban Los Angeles company offered to donate 4,000 of the foot- tall dolls, which quote Bible verses for distribution to needy children this holiday season. The battery-powered Jesus is one of several dolls manufactured by one2believe, a division of the Valencia- based Beverly Hills Teddy Bear Co., based on Biblical figures.

But the charity balked because of the dolls' religious nature.

Toys are donated to kids based on financial need and "we don't know anything about their background, their religious affiliations," said Bill Grein, vice president of Marine Toys for Tots program in Quantico, Va.

As a government entity, Marines "don't profess one religion over another," Grein said Tuesday. "We can't take a chance on sending a talking Jesus doll to a Jewish family or a Muslim family."

Michael La Roe, director of business development for both companies, said the charity's decision left him "surprised and disappointed."

"The idea was for them to be three-dimensional teaching tools for kids," La Roe said. "I believe as a churchgoing person, anyone can benefit from hearing the words of the Bible."

According to the company's Web site, the button-activated, bearded Jesus, dressed in hand-sewn cloth outfits and sandals, recites Scripture such as "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again" and "Love your neighbor as yourself." It has a $20 retail value.

Grein also questioned whether children would welcome a gift designed for religious instruction. "Kids want a gift for the holiday season that is fun," he said.

The program distributed 18 million stuffed animals, games, toy trucks and other gifts to children in 2005.

Faking it as a priest in Japan

With a rise in the popularity of Christian-style weddings in Japan, some Westerners are finding they can make a lucrative living by acting as priests. But it does not please everyone, particularly genuine priests, as Kathleen McCaul reports.

Mark Kelly
Mark Kelly acts as a fake priest at the weekend
Mark Kelly is originally from Lancashire in England. He has been living in Japan for six years and, at the weekend, he is a fake priest.

"I was living in Sapporo, studying Japanese, and I needed the money. It's far better paid than teaching in a language school," he said.

"Being a fake priest is big business in Japan - I've done a TV commercial for one company," he added. "In Sapporo, there are five agencies employing about 20 fake priests. In a city like Tokyo, there must be hundreds."

The fake Western priests are employed at Western-style weddings to give a performance and add to the atmosphere. These are not legal ceremonies - the couples also have to make a trip to the local registrar.

"In the past almost all weddings in Japan were Shinto, but in the last few years Western-style weddings have appeared and become very popular," said one Japanese priest.

It is important for the bride and groom to have a proper wedding, and they are not getting it from these foreign priests
"People like the dress, the kiss and the image. Japanese Christians make up only 1% of the country, but now about 90% of weddings are in the Christian style."

"At the hotel where I work, there is a Christian chapel next to a Shinto chapel. The Christian chapel is always in use, but the Shinto chapel is being used as a storeroom," Mr Kelly said.

The fake Western priests are used to create an authentic Christian feel.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/6067002.stm

The rest of the article can be read at the above link.

So the Japanese want a Christian wedding? If only we could teach them the symbolism behind the wedding ceremony! Jesus left His Father's house and came to earth to purchase His bride with His own shed blood. He then went back to the Father's house to prepare a dwelling place for his new bride. When the dwelling is finished He will return at a time unannounced to receive her unto Himself! What a joy that will be!

Pray for the people of Japan that they will discover the true reason they want a "Christian" wedding.

WASHINGTON (AP) - During a Vietnam-era run for Congress three decades ago, John Kerry said he opposed a volunteer Army because it would be dominated by the underprivileged, be less accountable and be more prone to "the perpetuation of war crimes."

Kerry, a decorated Vietnam veteran who turned against the war, made the observations in answers to a 1972 candidate questionnaire from a Massachusetts peace group.

After Kerry caused a firestorm this week with what he termed a botched campaign joke that Republicans said insulted current soldiers, The Associated Press was alerted to the historical comments by a former law enforcement official who monitored 1970s anti-war activities...

XtnYoda suggests another theory dealing with the “Global Warming” alarms.

Instead of “Global Warming” what is suggested is actually taking place in “Global Drying”, or the drying of the earth. This theory would be what XtnYoda would call the “Dying of the Earth”. We often hear news reports of the spreading of the deserts such as this report from the “Cool Planet” website for children.

Desertification - expansion of the desert - is a grave problem that affects not only those countries in the direct path of the encroaching arid lands, but also has implications for the rest of the world. To give some idea of the scale of the problem, the last 50 years have seen the Sahara desert spread southwards to cover an extra 65 million hectares, and on a global scale, the area of useful land lost each year exceeds six million hectares.

Desertification is brought about by our planet's progressively changing climate - the world is becoming warmer and drier, and this means there is less water to support plants and animals…

http://www.oxfam.org.uk/coolplanet/kidsweb/index.htm

Just where are these ‘expanding’ deserts? They are not in the America’s as of yet but rather seem located in the northern half of Africa and the Mideast parts of our planet.

It seems to be a strange coincidence that these increasingly expanding deserts and drying wastelands coincide with the spreading of Islam. With that thought in mind let us look at the meaning of the most ‘holy’ month of Islam which is called Ramadan as described on the “answers” web site.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and the most sacred of the twelve months. The name Ramadan derives from the Arabic word for intense heat and sun-scorched ground. A number of reasons have been advanced to explain the linguistic connection:

  • It refers to the hot, dry sensation of thirst during this month of fasting
  • Ramadan scorches out evil like the sun scorches the earth
  • Just as heat shapes and influences all matter — organic and inorganic — so does Ramadan shape and influence the believer

http://www.answers.com/topic/ramadan

For the Christian the promise of new life in Christ represents quite the opposite. Instead of seeking the parching dryness of drought we seek living waters and we seek to be vessels of that living water.

“If anyone is thirsty, he should come to Me and drink! The one who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, will have streams of living water flow from deep within him.”
John 7:37-38 (HCSB)

Quite a contrast between "living water" as our desire and the "drying of the earth" as Islam's thought of holiness.

If global warming, if true in itself, were taking place without the "drying of the earth" what we would end up with is even more lush vegetation it would seem to XtnYoda.

Therefore, for your consideration, observe the spreading drying of the earth through spiritual eyes. Then join me in praying and working toward the spreading of Christianity as a life giving stream.

Ezek 47:8
This river flows east through the desert into the Jordan Valley, where it enters the Dead Sea. The waters of this stream will heal the salty waters of the Dead Sea and make them fresh and pure.
