Daily Nugget

Wednesday, June 18th, 2014.  Today's cherished nugget from Guest Blogger, Pastor Bill.

"The cock crows, but daybreak is from God" (Unknown).

Be careful not to try to take credit for what only God can do. Remember to give glory to God for what He has done and to have faith for what He will do.

The writer of Psalms 118:24 says, “This is the day that the Lord hath made, I will rejoice and be glad in it.”

God, thank You for this day You have set before us.  Amen.

Yahweh, Day 85

Day 85, Yahweh: Not  "Co-Dependent"

2Kings 5:11 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
“But Naaman got angry and left, saying, ‘I was telling myself: He will surely come out, stand and call on the name of Yahweh his God, and will wave his hand over the spot and cure the skin disease.’”

The person plagued with co-dependency allows their perceived state of happiness to be determined by another person that is usually a wretched individual.

It is usually a son or a daughter, husband or wife, or some significant person in their life.  The wretched person finds myriads of ways of convincing the person that truly cares about them that if the person who cares would just give them one more break then the wretched person's life would be changed.

And this is repeated over, and over, and over again ... slowly destroying the life of the dear soul that is always trying to rescue the wretch ... to the point that the rescuer's sense of self-worth and personal value becomes totally consumed in the madness of trying to make the wretch ... whole.

Yahweh is not co-dependent on any man or woman ... and the servant of God must understand this lest they fall into the trap of making their service to Yahweh a total disaster of co-dependent guilting and ascribing their own worth to the assistance and deliverance of some wretch who will do all in their power to drag you down the same road of insanity.

Yahweh's movement to rescue wretched humanity was not based on a personal need of discovering wholeness through the deliverance of any creature ... Yahweh moved on humanity's behalf ... simply because Yahweh is ... whole.

It's in The Name.

Intercessory Prayer:  Dear Father, thank you for Your wisdom and power.  Power to save and deliver.  Wisdom to know when to let us go our own way … receiving the full consequence of our wretched actions.  For Your Name’s sake.  In Jesus Name.  Amen.

Yahweh, Day 84

Day 84, Yahweh: Preconceptions are... Contemptible

But Naaman got angry and left, saying, "I was telling myself: He will surely come out, stand and call on the name of Yahweh his God, and will wave his hand over the spot and cure the skin disease.
2Kings 5:11 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

Naaman's preconceived idea about what the Man of God... via the power of Yahweh... should accomplish... and how it should be accomplished... reveals an interesting feature of many people.

We will often come to Yahweh with our own desire for what we want God to do... and just how we want Him to do it. I'm sure we have all been there.

However... God is not subject to man's expectations. This truth lies in the name of Yahweh itself... God is who and what He desires to be... and that depends not on our conceptualizations.

It is our mission to come to know all we can of Yahweh... and what His desires and purposes are... and how we are to fit into His purposed will... He already knows us quite well.

"When you pray, don't babble like the idolaters, since they imagine they'll be heard for their many words. Don't be like them, because your Father knows the things you need before you ask Him."
Matthew 6:7-8 (HCSB)

Daily Nugget

Tuesday, June 17th, 2014, Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

Without GOD, our week would be:
Sinday, Mournday, Tearsday, Wasteday, Thirstday, Fightday & Shatterday.
Remember seven days WITHOUT GOD makes one WEAK!!
I have seen the quote, “Seven days without GOD makes one weak” before, but the rest of this message really puts it into perspective. Truly, as the old song reminds us, without HIM we are nothing. We must start each day in communication with GOD, and then we are to continue in fellowship with HIM all day: “Pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
Proverbs 3:24 also reminds us of our comfort in HIM at night: “When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.”
GOD, thank You for Your daily presence, provision, and protection. Amen.

Yahweh, Day 83

Day 83, Yahweh: Was Known by Other Nations

2Kings 5:11 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
“But Naaman got angry and left, saying, ‘I was telling myself: He will surely come out, stand and call on the name of Yahweh his God, and will wave his hand over the spot and cure the skin disease.’”
The fame of Yahweh's Name had spread through the entire region. The nations surrounding Israel feared not Israel ... but rather feared the God of Israel.
What do you think the other nations think of the God of your nation?
Intercessory Prayer:  Oh God!  Help we, Your blood bought people, to follow You, to exalt You, to live in the daily power of Your grace … so that our lives would once again make a famous Name for You … that the nations would say that You, Yahweh, are the Living God!  For Your Name’s sake!  In Jesus Name.  Amen.
