OK... HERE IT IS FOLKS, THE BATTLE LINES FOR OUR FUTURE HAVE BEEN CAST DOWN IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.

The "global warming" fear mongering/tax hungry politicians, have thrown down the gauntlet for our certain destruction as a prospering and free nation and people.

HOUSE DEMOCRATS UNVEIL SWEEPING PLAN TO RESHAPE ENERGY IN AMERICA

WASHINGTON — Democrats in the House of Representatives on Tuesday announced a sweeping plan to change how the nation produces and uses energy in order to reduce the risk of dangerous climate change.

No environmental legislation in America has ever attempted such wide-reaching changes. The bill — an incomplete draft that will evolve in the months ahead — would provide incentives to boost wind, solar and other renewable energy, would improve efficiency so that homes and businesses need less fuel and would support the development of cars that run on biofuels and electricity.

It also would make using fossil fuels more expensive — and that will be the central issue of debate in Congress , with armies of lobbyists on both sides....

We will be keeping up with this very closely.

Here is a four minute video record of the very impressive efforts of the citizens of Fargo, ND, in their desperate efforts to save their city from the flooding as a result of "global warming" up there!

I've also added the seventh video chronicling the flood event. Again, very impressive local response.

Thanks to Janel in ND for the heads up.

Oh, and by the way, I didn't see any FEMA trucks or personnel in the video? Looks like the citizens up there took it upon themselves to save themselves and not wait around for someone to come save them... like the federal government.

Might just be a lesson here for the folks in New Orleans?

This is certainly past the proverbial "point of no return" for me as a pastor.

Passing out condoms in church? You've got to be kidding me! And... to go one step further and call it a "moral responsibility" is not distasteful but far rather disgusting.

Can you for one second imagine Jesus handing out condoms to his followers or even the casual crowds that followed him? Lost as they were?

What in the world has happened to, "Go thy way and sin no more?"

This group is speaking not for Christ on this issue.

ARTICLE

CONDOM DISTRIBUTION AT CHURCH

...Recently, the HIV and AIDS Network of the United Church of Christ (UCC) said condoms should be handed out at places of worship. The statement was issued during a presentation to the denomination's Wider Church Ministries Board and also advocated making condoms available at faith-based educational settings.

A UCC executive said that condom distribution is a matter of life and death and that condoms should be made available to save the lives of young people.

Calling it the denomination's "moral responsibility" to make condoms available, the UCC's executive for health and wellness advocacy said "people of faith make condoms available because we have chosen life so that we and our children may live."

Alan Wisdom, with the Institute on Religion & Democracy, believes the UCC's statement is dangerous. "It sends a message to youth particularly, the kids who meet in their Alan Wisdom (IRD)Sunday schools, that the church really has no expectation of them in terms of sexuality, that it expects them to enter into multiple sexual relationships in the same way the world does, and that its only concern is they not pick up diseases," he notes.....

Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

The teacher asked the pupils to tell the meaning of loving-kindness. A little boy jumped up and said, “Well, if I was hungry and someone gave me a piece of bread that would be kindness. But if they put a little jam on it, that would be loving-kindness.” (Sparks)

Most of us would give the necessities to a starving person, though sometimes even grudgingly. Yet there are others who go beyond the meeting of needs to putting the extra touch of compassion on the gift. 2 Peter 1:5-8 tells us to,
“And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Let us be the jam on someone’s bread today.

May God bless and keep you today.

Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

An Arabian princess was once presented by her teacher with an ivory casket, not to be opened until a year had passed. The time, impatiently waited for, came at last, and with trembling haste she unlocked the treasure; and behold—on the satin linings lay a shroud of rust; the form of something beautiful, but the beauty gone.

A slip of parchment contained these words: “Dear pupil, learn a lesson in your life. This trinket, when enclosed, had upon it only a spot of rust; by neglect it has become the useless thing you now behold, only a blot on its pure surroundings. So a little stain on your character will, by inattention and neglect, mar a bright and useful life, and in time leave only the dark shadow of what might have been. Place herein a jewel of gold, and after many years you will find it still as sparkling as ever. So with yourself; treasure up only the pure, the good, and you will be an ornament to society, and a source of true pleasure to yourself and your friends.”

Purity in thought words and deed are important. a small flaw can devalue the whole thing.
Galatians 5:9 reminds us, “A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.”
May we be alert to the devil’s methods seeking to bring us into a cankerous relationship with the world.

May God bless and keep you today.

Romans states that if we will confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, then we would be saved.

Pretty simple.

I've written a public confession that gives us in the English speaking world both God and the Messiah's name back... which we have been robbed of for some six hundred years.

I'll speak more of that later, but for now, here is my confessional we are going to begin using in our fellowship.

My Public Confession

I believe that YahShua the Messiah,
was born to the
Virgin Mary,
and that He is the
Only begotten Son of Yahweh.

I believe that YahShua paid the penalty for fallen humanity,
Suffering the wrath of
Almighty God against sin
In my place.

I believe that YahShua was buried for three days and
Three nights in the grave:
I believe by the power of God
He then rose victorious
Over death and the grave.

I believe that the Lord YahShua
then ascended into heaven.
I believe that YahShua will return to earth in order to receive us eternally
into His presence.

I believe that YahShua is the
Lord of the Universe.
I acknowledge Him as the
Lord of my life.

ANYBODY LOOKING FOR SOME SNAKE OIL? THERE IS PLENTY OF IT AROUND AS THE FOLLOWING DEMONSTRATES.

Rick works with a real live computer modeler who has run some numbers for us. First he talks about the national budget numbers being tossed around as gospel... then he makes some professional assessments about the "global warming" modeling craze... that has a lot of folks (politicians, etc.) going crazy.

Tom is a humble guy as you will see if you go read his entire article... so he isn't into touting his stuff. He's just fed up with the lies and deceit coming out of Washington and the UN and Al Gore... you know... all those people who are hoping to cash in on their lying manipulations of feeble minded lap dogs.

...If the budget guys can't predict within 20% of each other what the economy will look like in the next ten years. And through tax policy, monetary policy, law making and regulatory policy they control many of the inputs. Common sense should tell you the degree to which some quasi-meteorologist is going to be right. Particularly when you consider that they are using essentially the same tools and mathematical techniques to forecast global warming over the next 50-100-200 years as are being used by the economist in the administration. I can tell you with 100% certainty that when someone says, “The median temperature of the earth will increase by 2 degrees Celsius by the year 2080 and that the increase will have effects A B or C" they are wrong, period.

The earth may heat by that amount or more or less. The affect may be A B or C or it may be K L or M. When the weather changes (and it always changes, after all what makes you think the weather is the same now as it was 200 years ago?) will it be because the output of the sun changed, the orbit of the earth changed, the magnetosphere of the earth changed (think it's constant? Just look at the shifting patterns of the northern lights), the reflectivity of the changes of the earth changed over time. (due to deforestation) or that concentrations of CO2 in the atmosphere went up? The likelihood is that it was due to an interplay between all of these factors. I am not saying that things won't change. I am not saying that man couldn't be better stewards of the riches that we have been granted.

The point is, that the interplay of these factors is too complex for the weatherman to predict with any clarity what the weather will be a month from now much less with any precision, hell even tomorrows forecast has +/- swing of 4-8 degrees. People forecasting 10-20-50-100-200 years from now, give me a break! Modeling and simulation give you a best guess. The snakeoil salesmen selling global warming never disclose the "guess" portion of the analysis, they state it as gospel and expect people to change based upon their guess....

Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

In the horse and buggy days, a man was driving with his wife along a dangerous road. At a very narrow place the wife became frightened and seized the rein nearest to her. Her husband quietly passed her the other rein and let go.

Then, more frightened than ever she said, “Oh, don’t you let go!”

He answered, “Two people cannot drive one and the same horse; either I must drive or you must.”

Then she gave him the reins and he drove safely past the danger.

So it is with God and us. He is more than willing to let me grab the reins to show me what a mess I can make out of a situation. When we are willing to ‘let go and let God,’ He will lead us safely home. James 4:6 tells us,
“But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.”
As tempting as wanting to be in charge is, we must as the Greyhound Bus commercial says, ‘Leave the driving to God.’

DAILY KOS ON FIRE ABOUT GORDON BROWN!

Now, Daily Kos, is as liberal as one can get in the way of political perspective... but... they are finally getting it! They are finally seeing the hand writing on the wall of what is going on in this financial "crisis" that world politicians are referring to as a great "opportunity" for them.

This is almost too good to be true!

Please note that I haven't started my quote at the beginning of the article, so don't think you are at the wrong link.

DAILY KOS

...GORDON BROWN'S CRUSADE

Gordon Brown is a driven man. He's been jetting around non stop to pitch his big vision: A global governing body to oversee the world's finances. Here is him selling the idea to congress the other day:

Our task is to rebuild prosperity and security in a wholly different economic world, where competition is no longer local but global and banks are no longer just national but international.

It seems to me banks are already too international, where some bad loans in California ends up bankrupting a bank in Dubai. But Brown isn't just talking about cooperation. He's talking about something far more profound:

"Or we could view the threats and challenges we face today as the difficult birth-pangs of a new global order -- and our task now as nothing less than making the transition through a new internationalism to the benefits of an expanding global society."....

...Hey, I'm all for the world citizen concept. But not the one envisioned by people like Walter Wriston, Henry Kissinger, or Gordon Brown. Not one that further centralizes power away from common people, thereby eliminating all accountability to democratic authority. That is what's at stake here. Our system of government is already to centralized and unaccountable enough. Imagine this global authority, even in a likely scaled back form, where it just regulates banks and such. What recourse would I, as an American citizen, have to such a monstrosity?

Now... be forewarned... there is some really graphic language in the article... but when you get time go read it for a remarkable lesson on the political move toward what the "conspiracy nuts" have been telling us for about eighty years now.

Then... go to your closet and pray...

Then... come out swinging.

THE UN IS PUSHING HARD FOR A REFORMATION OF THE WORLD'S ECONOMY... THE TOOL... CLIMATE CHANGE

U.N. 'Climate Change' Plan Would Likely Shift Trillions to Form New World Economy

Friday, March 27, 2009
By George Russell

full story

A United Nations document on "climate change" that will be distributed to a major environmental conclave next week envisions a huge reordering of the world economy, likely involving trillions of dollars in wealth transfer, millions of job losses and gains, new taxes, industrial relocations, new tariffs and subsidies, and complicated payments for greenhouse gas abatement schemes and carbon taxes — all under the supervision of the world body.

Those and other results are blandly discussed in a discretely worded United Nations "information note" on potential consequences of the measures that industrialized countries will likely have to take to implement the Copenhagen Accord, the successor to the Kyoto Treaty, after it is negotiated and signed by December 2009. The Obama administration has said it supports the treaty process if, in the words of a U.S. State Department spokesman, it can come up with an "effective framework" for dealing with global warming.....

Getting that deal done has become the United Nations' highest priority, and the Bonn meeting is seen as a critical step along the path to what the U.N. calls an "ambitious and effective international response to climate change"....

Finally the real purpose of the "Climate Change" scheme is coming to light. The purpose is to bring the industrialized world to it's knees... and generate chaos.

So... now the UN is trying to place itself into the position of setting and collecting taxes on those nations that it wishes... in order to "redistribute" the wealth of the Western world to whoever the UN pleases.

It's of course only equitable... of course.

Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

A little girl had been told many times by a childless old couple that if she would come and live with them, they would get her everything she wanted—a pony and cart, a piano, and the like. One day when the couple had been particularly urgent, her father said, “Don’t you think you had better go with them?” The little girl looked at him in alarm and cried, “Why, Daddy, don’t you want me?” “Yes,” he replied, “but I can’t give you very much, and they will give you everything nice.” “But I wouldn’t have you!” she said as she snuggled up to him.

This brings to mind the words of the song George Beverly Shea sang so well for many years with the Billy Graham Crusade Team,
“I’d rather have Jesus than anything this world affords today.”

The world has nothing to offer that is not more than overshadowed by the presence of God. Remember what Matthew 16:26 tells us,
“For what is a man profited if he shall gain the whole world and lose his on soul?”
Value your relationships with God, your family, and with your friends.

A gentleman had found a shelter for a ragged, homeless boy and was walking down the street with him. He was stopped by another gentleman who, after a short conversation, said, “You are surely not walking through the streets with that dirty boy?”

“Why not?” said the gentleman. “He is my friend.”

Overhearing the first remark the lad was slinking away, but the answer made him the life-long, devoted follower of his new-found friend.

God calls us His friends. Can we ever express enough gratitude and honor to Him?

God saved us "just as we were." (Romans 10:13)

INTERPRETED THIS MEANS TO SAVE THE EARTH...

Porritt’s call will come at this week’s annual conference of the Optimum Population Trust (OPT), of which he is patron.

INTERPRETED THIS MEANS THIS IS HOW HE MAKES HIS MONEY

The trust will release research suggesting UK population must be cut to 30m if the country wants to feed itself sustainably.

INTERPRETED THIS MEANS WE SHOULD KILL THIRTY MILLION BRITS TO SAVE THE PLANET

Porritt said: “Population growth, plus economic growth, is putting the world under terrible pressure. Each person in Britain has far more impact on the environment than those in developing countries so cutting our population is one way to reduce that impact.”

INTERPRETED THIS MEANS WE SHOULD KILL THIRTY MILLION BRITS AS A RESULT OF THEIR ACHIEVEMENTS IN TECHNOLOGY AND LIFE IN GENERAL.

NEXT TO AMERICA... HE WOULD HAVE TO CALL FOR THE KILLING OF 150 MILLION IN THE NAME OF SUSTAINABILITY... NEXT TO FRANCE HE WOULD HAVE TO CALL FOR THE KILLING OF... etc...

The "save the planet" people are finally having to show their real agenda and hatred for humanity... and therefore... their hatred of God.

They are demonically driven and consumed by strong delusion... deceiving and being deceived.

A PERSONAL INVITATION

And at the time for the banquet he sent his servant to say to those who had been invited, "Come, for everything is now ready."
from Jesus Christ, Luke 14:17 ESV

If you read the whole incident you will come away asking yourself something like, "What excuses have I been making that keep me from following Christ?"

At least that is the question I find myself asking of myself.

The more we see the work and plan of God as being focused on our benefits and blessings... instead of God working and planning for His own benefits and blessings... the more we are likely to make excuses for going our own way and pursuing our own interests...

Jesus concludes,
"I tell you, none of those men who were invited shall taste my banquet."

One day Reta was driving home coming up the side of a mountain, she saw a bird dog on point. No one was around and she began to look to see the owner. When she could not see anyone around it struck her that the dog was doing what it had been designed to do; point and stay on point. No one needed to tell the dog what his job was, it was a natural part of who he was.

As Christians, we have the Holy Spirit living within. It should be a natural part of who we are to be found doing the right thing even when no one is around. Your character is who you are in the dark as well as in the light. Matthew 5:16 says,
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

The Wall Street Journal is hitting the nail on the head about the Cap and Trade scheme.

This covert scheme by congress and the white house is squarely aimed at...

...think of Robin Hood in reverse... instead of taking from the rich and giving to the poor this is taking from the poor and giving to the affluent...

Is this what we've been promised?

Wall Street Journal article

WHO PAYS FOR CAP AND TRADE?
Hint: They were promised a tax cut during the Obama campaign.

Cap and trade is the tax that dare not speak its name, and Democrats are hoping in particular that no one notices who would pay for their climate ambitions. With President Obama depending on vast new carbon revenues in his budget and Congress promising a bill by May, perhaps Americans would like to know the deeply unequal ways that climate costs would be distributed across regions and income groups.

Politicians love cap and trade because they can claim to be taxing "polluters," not workers. Hardly.....Hit hardest would be the "95% of working families" Mr. Obama keeps mentioning, usually omitting that his no-new-taxes pledge comes with the caveat "unless you use energy." Putting a price on carbon is regressive by definition because poor and middle-income households spend more of their paychecks on things like gas to drive to work, groceries or home heating....

Cap and trade, in other words, is a scheme to redistribute income and wealth -- but in a very curious way. It takes from the working class and gives to the affluent...

Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

“Friend, you cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. And what one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government can’t give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody. And when half of the people get the idea they don’t have to work because the other half’s going to take care of them, and when the other half get the idea it does no good to work because somebody’s going to get what I work for. That, dear friend, is about the end of any nation.”
(Adrian Rogers)

Though Dr. Rogers made that statement in 1984, his words are so relevant to what we are facing in America today. In fact, the assertion was even read and posted in the Congressional Record by Congressman Steve King from the state of Iowa on January 14, 2009.

Evidence is prevalent that we must repent and turn to God for a healing in our land (2 Chronicles 7:14). May we again become the nation whose God is The Lord (Psalm 33:12) so we may receive His blessings again.

"THEY SAY THAT WAKING UP IS HARD TO DO... AND I KNOW... I KNOW THAT IT'S TRUE..."

Old song (the original said "breaking up," but what the heck... I like the way it sounds...) new application. Look at the last line of my quote below. The CBO is waking up to the reality of a devastating 82% debt ration of the national budget under Obama's plan...

DO YOU HAVE ANY EARTHLY IDEA WHAT THIS MEANS?

The cock is beginning to crow...

Post

U.S. Federal Deficit Soars Past Previous Estimates

Deteriorating economic conditions will cause the federal deficit to soar past $1.8 trillion this year and leave the nation wallowing in a sea of red ink far deeper than the White House had previously estimated, congressional budget analysts said today.

In a new report that provides the first independent analysis of President Obama's budget request, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office predicted that the administration's agenda would generate deficits averaging nearly $1 trillion a year over the next decade -- $2.3 trillion more than the president predicted when he unveiled his spending plan just one month ago....

By the CBO's estimate, for example, the nation's debt would grow to 82 percent of the overall economy by 2019 under Obama's policies, compared with a pre-recession average of 40 percent....

EDIT:

I can't stand it... just in case you don't understand what this means for this or any other nation...

FOR A NATION'S LEGISLATURE TO ENACT FINANCIAL DECISIONS AND BUDGETS THAT ARE CERTAIN TO RESULT IN A NATIONAL DEBT SO LARGE THAT IT WILL REQUIRE 82% OF THE NATIONAL BUDGET TO MAKE PAYMENT ON JUST THE DEBT ALONE... GET THAT!!! 82% OF THE NATION'S ANNUAL BUDGET WILL BE JUST TO PAY ONTO THE NATION'S DEBT SERVICE... IN ONLY TEN YEARS FROM NOW...

ARE YOU READY FOR WHAT THIS IS CALLED FOR A NATION TO BE HERE?

IT IS NOT CALLED STUPID, NOVICE, IGNORANT, ILL ADVISED... OR ANY OTHER LABEL...

IT IS CALLED....

SUICIDE

Our nation's nonpartisan, Congressional Budget Office, has just announced that our congress has officially voted our nation into a suicide pact.

Time to get your house in order... and everybody is involved... nobody can sit back on this one... we are all going down.

Today's cherished Nugget from Pastor Bill.

A boy was dressing to go out for the evening. He called to his mother who was in the adjoining room. “Mom, is this shirt dirty?”

Without so much as looking she replied, “Yes, it’s dirty. Get a clean one.”

When he had dressed he entered his mother’s room and inquired how she knew the shirt was dirty when she had not even looked at it. “If it had been clean,” she replied, “you would have known it and would not have asked me. Remember son, if it’s doubtful, it’s dirty.”

We live in a society where the absolutes of right and wrong have become diluted by not comparing truth with truth, but by comparing a standard of today against another standard of today. We must get back to the measuring standard of being ‘What would Jesus do?’ or what did Jesus say or do in certain situations.

To accomplish this project, we have to get our answers from God’s Word, The Bible. To search the daily news paper, CNN, CBS, NBC, ETC… for answers is to incorporate "doubtful" data into the equation. Two passages of scripture come to mind on this subject. First is the advice of the Psalmist:
“thy word have I hid in mine heart that I might not sin against thee.” (Psalm 119:11)

The second is,
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:1-2)

When we try to compare anything this world has to offer with the truth of God’s Word, we see that it never measures up.

Remember...if it is doubtful, it’s dirty.

A faithful soldier of Jesus Christ, named John McKenzie, eager to work on the foreign mission field, prayed this prayer: “O Lord send me to the darkest spot on earth.” God heard him and sent him to South Africa where he laboured many years as the first Resident Commissioner among the natives of Bechuanaland, first under the London Missionary Society and then under the British Government

What a far cry from the prayers of the Pharisees both of Jesus’ day and our day. Many wanted--and still want--the place of honor in God’s service and are willing to take the credit belonging to God, but few are willing to serve in the trenches away from recognition and praise.

When our heads hit our pillows and no one has seemed to care all day, the rest we receive from the Lord saying, “Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord,” (Matthew 25:21) should be reward enough.

May we remain faithful in the little things. Remember--in our toughest hour, the joy of The Lord is our strength. (Nehemiah 8:10)

If they don't want a chaplain to refer to "GOD" then they just need to hire a motivational speaker.

This would be like forcing a surgeon to try to do surgery without a scalpel... or forcing a carpenter to saw wood without a saw...

Gets ridiculous after a while.

South Florida Sun-Sentinel

A chaplain at Hospice by the Sea in Boca Raton has resigned, she says, over a ban on use of the words "God" or "Lord" in public settings.

Chaplains still speak freely of the Almighty in private sessions with patients or families but, the Rev. Mirta Signorelli said: "I can't do chaplain's work if I can't say 'God' — if I'm scripted."

Hospice CEO Paula Alderson said the ban on religious references applies only to the inspirational messages that chaplains deliver in staff meetings. The hospice remains fully comfortable with ministers, priests and rabbis offering religious counsel to the dying and grieving.

"I was sensitive to the fact that we don't impose religion on our staff, and that it is not appropriate in the context of a staff meeting to use certain phrases or 'God' or 'Holy Father,' because some of our staff don't believe at all," Alderson said....

Our Daily Nugget from Pastor Bill.

“Without the way, there is no going; without the truth, there is no knowing; without the life, there is no living.” (Thomas À Kempis)

Jesus told His disciples He was going to prepare a place for them. He also told them He would return again. He told them that where He was they knew, that they knew the way, and they could be there also (John 14:1-3.) When doubting Thomas questioned where Jesus was going and how could they know the way in verse four, Jesus told him,
“I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father, but by Me.” (v 5)

Look around... you will see someone today who has no idea where he is going. You will see someone who is without the truth. You will see someone without hope. Remember to share the good news today with someone who needs directions to the way, the truth, and the life.

Thanks Brother.

OK... you are getting ready to read about a US Senator who has just admitted that he is a liar and did in fact lie to our nation about his part in writing into the pigulous bill the provision that make sure the AIG executives got their millions.... which is no big deal in and of itself, the millions I mean...

If the truth is ever known about this... what will be revealed is that this Christopher Dodd, Senate Banking committee Chairman, was a set up patsy for the larger purpose of what is going on. He's been used like a whore and is now being spit out by his superiors.... a sacrifice if you will...

I don't know if he's figured it out yet.

cnn

(CNN) -- Senate Banking committee Chairman Christopher Dodd told CNN Wednesday that he was responsible for language added to the federal stimulus bill to make sure that already-existing contracts for bonuses at companies receiving federal bailout money were honored.

Dodd acknowledged his role in the change after a Treasury Department official told CNN the administration pushed for the language.

Both Dodd and the official, who asked not to be named, said it was because administration officials were afraid the government would face numerous lawsuits without the new language.

Dodd, a Democrat, told CNN's Dana Bash and Wolf Blitzer that Obama administration officials pushed for the language to an amendment designed to limit bonuses and "golden parachutes" at those companies.

"The administration had expressed reservations," Dodd said. "They asked for modifications. The alternative was losing the amendment entirely."

On Tuesday, Dodd denied to CNN that he had anything to do with adding the language, which has been used by officials at bailed-out insurance giant AIG to justify paying millions of dollars in bonuses to executives after receiving federal money.

He said Wednesday that the "grandfather clause" language "seemed like innocent modifications" at the time. Video Watch Dodd's interview with CNN's Dana Bash »

"I agreed reluctantly," Dodd said. "I was changing the amendment because others were insistent."

Dodd said he did not speak to high-ranking administration officials and the change came after his staff spoke with staffers from Treasury.

The White House did not immediately respond to CNN's request for comment.

Later, in a town hall meeting in Costa Mesa, California, Obama addressed the AIG controversy, saying, "I'll take responsibilty. I'm the president.

"We didn't draft these contracts. But it is appropriate when you're in charge to make sure stuff doesn't happen like this," he said. "So we're going to do everything we can to fix it.".....
COST OF CAP AND TRADE SCAM NOW TOPS $2 TRILLION DOLLARS.

There is more coming on this invective assault on the poorest of our people...

Obama climate plan could cost $2 trillion

Wednesday, March 18, 2009

President Obama's climate plan could cost industry close to $2 trillion, nearly three times the White House's initial estimate of the so-called "cap-and-trade" legislation, according to Senate staffers who were briefed by the White House.

“The main ingredient to stardom is the rest of the team.” (John Wooden)

No matter how great an athlete is or how successful a businessman is, he can become a floundering tragedy without the support of his friends, family, and team. As individuals we must lift up, help, and encourage those not as strong as ourselves, all the while not being consumed with self-pride.

Jesus reminds us,
“And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.”
(Matthew 23:12)

I was delighted to find this in my in-box... it was forwarded to me from my Mother... via a dear friend, Mr. Honey.

Mr. Honey worked at the airport in my home town when I was in the Marine Corp. He was a constant encouragement to me during those years as I was leaving home for this assignment and that assignment... esp. when I flew out on my way to Vietnam, not knowing if I would return as a live passenger or by military escort...

I checked the story on the Truth or Fiction web site and it is a true story.

Thank you Mr. Honey. You made more of a difference than you know.

truth or fiction

Father John Powell, professor at Loyola University in Chicago, writes about a student in his Theology of Faith class named Tommy...

Some twelve years ago, I stood watching my university students file into the classroom for our first session in the Theology of Faith.
That was the day I first saw Tommy. My eyes and my mind both blinked. He was combing his long flaxen hair, which hung six inches below his shoulders.
It was the first time I had ever seen a boy with hair that long. I guess it was just coming into fashion then. I know in my mind that it isn't what's on your head but what's in it that counts; but on that day I was unprepared and my emotions flipped. I immediately filed Tommy under 'S' for strange....very strange.
Tommy turned out to be the 'atheist in residence' in my Theology of Faith course. He constantly objected to, smirked at, or whined about the possibility of an unconditionally loving Father/God. We lived with each other in relative peace for one semester, although I admit he was for me at times a serious pain in the back pew.
When he came up at the end of the course to turn in his final exam, he asked in a cynical tone, 'Do you think I'll ever find God?'
I decided instantly on a little shock therapy. 'No!' I said very emphatically.

'Why not,' h e responded, 'I thought that was the product you were pushing.'

I let him get five steps from the classroom door and then called out, 'Tommy! I don't think you'll ever find Him, but I am absolutely certain that He will find you!' He shrugged a little and left my class and my life.

I felt slightly disappointed at the thought that he had missed my clever line -- He will find you! At least I thought it was clever. Later I heard that Tommy had graduated, and I was duly grateful.

Then a sad report came. I heard that Tommy had terminal cancer. Before I could search him out, he came to see me. When he walked into my office, his body was very badly wasted and the long hair had all fallen out as a result of chemotherapy. But his eyes were bright and his voice was firm, for the first time, I believe. 'Tommy, I've thought about you so often; I hear you are sick,' I blurted out.

'Oh, yes, very sick. I have cancer in both lungs. It's a matter of weeks.'

'Can you talk about it, Tom?' I asked.

'Sure, what would you like to know?' he replied.

'What's it like to be only twenty-four and dying?'

'Well, it could be worse.'

'Like what?'

'Well, like being fifty and having no values or ideals, like being fifty and thinking that booze, seducing women, and making money are the real biggies in life.'

I began to look through my mental file cabinet under 'S' where I had filed Tommy as strange. (It seems as though everybody I try to reject by classification, God sends back into my life to educate me.)

'But what I really came to see you about,' Tom said, 'is something you said to me on the last day of class.' (He remembered!) He continued, 'I asked you if you thought I would ever find God and you said, 'No!' which surprised me. Then you said, 'But He will find you.' I thought about that a lot, even though my search for God was hardly intense at that time.

(My clever line. He thought about that a lot!)

'But when the doctors removed a lump f rom my groin and told me that it was malignant, that's when I got serious about locating God. And when the malignancy spread into my vital organs, I really began banging bloody fists against the bronze doors of heaven. But God did not come out. In fact, nothing happened. Did you ever try anything for a long time with great effort and with no success? You get psychologically glutted, fed up with trying. And then you quit 'Well, one day I woke up, and instead of throwing a few more futile appeals over that high brick wall to a God who may be or may not be there, I just quit.

I decided that I didn't really care about God, about an after life, or anything like that. I decided to spend what time I had left doing something more profitable. I thought about you and your class and I remembered something else you had said: 'The essential sadness is to go through life without loving. But it would be almost equally sad to go through life and leave this world without ever telling those you loved that you had loved them.''

'So, I began with the hardest one, my Dad. He was reading the newspaper when I approached him.

'Dad.'

'Yes, what?' he asked without lowering the newspaper.

'Dad, I would like to talk with you.'

'Well, talk.'

'I mean. It's really important.'

The newspaper came down three slow inches. 'What is it?'

'Dad, I love you, I just wanted you to know that.' Tom smiled at me and said it with obvious satisfaction, as though he felt a warm and secret joy flowing inside of him. 'The newspaper fluttered to the floor. T hen my father did two things I could never remember him ever doing before. He cried and he hugged me. We talked all night, even though he had to go to work the next morning. It felt so good to be close to my father, to see his tears, to feel his hug, to hear him say that he loved me.'

'It was easier with my mother and little brother. They cried with me, too, an d we hugged each other, and started saying real nice things t o each other. We shared the things we had been keeping secret for so many years.

'I was only sorry a bout one thing --- that I had waited so long. Here I was, just beginning to open up to all the people I had actually been close to.'

Then, one day I turned around and God was there. He didn't come to me when I pleaded with Him. I guess I was like an animal trainer holding out a hoop, 'Cowmen, jump through. C'mon, I'll give you three days, three weeks.''

'Apparently God does things in His own way and at His own hour. But the important thing is that He was there. He found me!

You were right.. He found me even after I stopped looking for Him'

'Tommy,' I practically gasped, 'I think you are saying something very important and much more universal than you realize.

To me, at least, you are saying that the surest way to find God is not to make Him a private possession, a problem solver, or an instant consolation in time of need, but rather by opening to love. You know, the Apostle John said that. He said: 'God is love, and anyone who lives in love is living with God and God is living in him.'

Tom, could I ask you a favor? You know, when I had you in class you were a real pain. But (laughingly) you can make it all up to me now. Would you come into my present Theology of Faith course and tell them what you have just told me? If I told them the same thing it wouldn't be half as effective as if you were to tell it'

'Oooh.I was ready for you, but I don't know if I'm ready for your class.'

'Tom, think about it.. If and when you are ready, give me a call.'

In a few days Tom called, said he was ready for the class, that he wanted to do that for God and for me. So we scheduled a date.

However, he never made it. He had another appointment, far more important than the one with me and my class. Of course, his life was not really ended by his death, only changed. He made the great step from faith into vision.

He found a life far more beautiful than t he eye of man has ever seen or the ear of man has ever heard or the mind of man has ever imagined.

Before he died, we talked one last time.

'I'm not going to make it to your class,' he said.

'I know, Tom.'

'Will you tell them for me? Will you .... tell the whole world for me?'

'I will, Tom. I'll tell them. I'll do my best.'

So, to all of you who have been kind enough to read this simple story about God's love, thank you for listening. And to you, Tommy, somewhere in the sunlit, verdant hills of heaven --- I told them, Tommy, as best I could.

APRIL 15th TEA PARTIES

Our Situation:

The American people are tired of working hard for their families only to see politicians with the same failed answers of more spending, more government, and more debt for future generations.

Spending more money than has ever been spent in American history, while telling the American people you do not believe in bigger government, is fundamentally dishonest and irresponsible.

Propping up and bailing out failure with our tax dollars is not a solution for our economy, and we must not tolerate it any longer.

April 15th 2009: Our Opportunity

American Solutions has decided to sponsor a nationwide Tax Day Tea Party for two reasons.

First
, this is our chance to communicate our anger and opposition to the irresponsible policies of politicians in Washington who have failed to solve problems.

Second, this is our opportunity to clearly define a bold, new agenda and to tell our elected officials that they can either work with us, or find new jobs....

N/T Brutally Honest

Rick had this a couple of weeks ago on his site. I think that now would be a good time to share it here since yesterday's interaction by the president and the Commander of the VA about the white house's desire to send our veteran's begging insurance companies to pay for their service related medical expenses. (Oh, and it is the every day working citizen who is paying the insurance companies... so guess what... their rates will go up to compensate. Oh... but we are being told that we should feel morally responsible to pay for every illegal's insurance, and every bum who won't work's insurance, but now our nation can't pay for our war wounded's care...)

And this video was put together before yesterday's interaction. Could be the reason that we had this new "directive" coming from the white house. Since he could "flip off" Hillary in a public setting then laugh about it... well... this is a pretty good "flip off" to our military personnel and their dependents... who have laid it all on the line... their very lives and loved ones... for freedom.

And, yes, I tried to warn people about this... it has nothing to do with "race" or "political party" issues... it is an issue of worth and honor... regardless of one's race or party affiliation. And when you dishonor the military... who've served with their blood...

How you say... dishonor the military? Well... when one over and over again... denounces the war that our men and women are fighting and dying and being wounded in... that is denouncing their mission... and for those who just don't see it... that is denouncing every member of our military.

Thus, the contrast in the video. Our military is required to respect the office of president... but not the person in the office.

That is the difference you see.

With this new denouncing of veteran's benefits it will only get more "divisive"... I think that is the word our political leaders love to use. Seems to be on their minds a good deal...

OH BOY... now the IMF is getting into the act of stoking inflation and warning about it at the same time... Now... I'm no economic genius... but I'm starting to wonder about the mentality of these global gurus...?

Notice the last line esp. in the quote below...

UK Telegraph
IMF POISED TO PRINT BILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN 'GLOBAL QUANTITATIVE EASING'
Telegraph UK, Edmund Conway

The International Monetary Fund is poised to embark on what analysts have described as "global quantitative easing" by printing billions of dollars worth of a global "super-currency" in an unprecedented new effort to address the economic crisis.

Alistair Darling and senior figures in the US Treasury have been encouraging the Fund to issue hundreds of billions of dollars worth of so-called Special Drawing Rights in the coming months as part of its campaign to prevent the recession from turning into a global depression.

Should the move, which is up for discussion by the summit of G20 finance ministers this weekend, be adopted, it will represent a global equivalent of the Bank of England's plan to pump extra cash into the UK economy.

However, economists warned that the scheme could cause a major swell of inflation around the world as the newly-created money filters through the system. The idea has been suggested by a number of key figures, including billionaire investor George Soros and US Treasury adviser Ted Truman.

Simon Johnson, former chief economist at the IMF, said: "The principle behind it is that everyone would get bonus dollars and instead of the Federal Reserve having to print them, everyone gets them.

"The objective is to create a windfall of cash. However if everybody goes out and spends the money it could be very inflationary."

Sooo... they are going to give away money credits... and then hope people and nations don't use them?

Come on now... let's get real...

YET ANOTHER FIRE IS MORE THAN SMOLDERING... IT IS DOWN RIGHT IN OPEN FLAMES

The American Legion Strongly Opposed to President's Plan to Charge Wounded Heroes for Treatment
Mon Mar 16, 2009
yahoo news
WASHINGTON, March 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The leader of the nation's largest veterans organization says he is "deeply disappointed and concerned" after a meeting with President Obama today to discuss a proposal to force private insurance companies to pay for the treatment of military veterans who have suffered service-connected disabilities and injuries. The Obama administration recently revealed a plan to require private insurance carriers to reimburse the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in such cases.

"It became apparent during our discussion today that the President intends to move forward with this unreasonable plan," said Commander David K. Rehbein of The American Legion. "He says he is looking to generate $540-million by this method, but refused to hear arguments about the moral and government-avowed obligations that would be compromised by it."

The Commander, clearly angered as he emerged from the session said, "This reimbursement plan would be inconsistent with the mandate ' to care for him who shall have borne the battle' given that the United States government sent members of the armed forces into harm's way, and not private insurance companies. I say again that The American Legion does not and will not support any plan that seeks to bill a veteran for treatment of a service connected disability at the very agency that was created to treat the unique need of America's veterans!"....

It is uncanny how desperately fast these outbreaks against American citizens are blasting out of Washington DC.

One after another... in rapid fire succession.

Sooner or later... when one insists on starting so many flash fires... the ones setting the fires will find themselves in the heat of the blaze... with little more than a water pistol to try and extinguish the heat...

By the way... this need for this story is a disgrace.

DOWNTURN RISKS AFRICA CONFLICT
By David Loyn, BBC News

Mr Brown (Britain's Prime Minister) hosted African leaders in London ahead of the G20 summit.

African leaders have warned that parts of the continent could be plunged back into conflict if they are not helped to recover from the global downturn.

The stark warning came as they gathered in London to put their case ahead of the G20 summit next month.

The scale of the crisis faced by Africa because of the economic downturn is only now becoming apparent.

The head of the African Development Bank, Donald Kaberuka, called it an "emergency" at the meeting in London.

I seriously pray that this economic melt down has not been the result of a planned move to greater centralization of government's power. If this proves to be the case then the planners of this event that is going to cost untold millions... yea... even billions of humanity untold misery, suffering, and even death... should be held up to the highest courts of the world for crimes against humanity.

May the God of all Compassion expose them and lead us to overcome their feat.

IT'S HEATING UP IN ARKANSAS... AND I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING.

The Arkansas State law has a regulation that the state will not issue drivers licenses that have information chips in them. Privacy concerns top the reasons.

Now however, with this new bill there is a very sinister phrase planted in this new bill, sort of like a secret chip, that would supplant our former law in a little recognized way. The villain is on page 4 of the bill I have linked to, and in particular it is in lines 15 and 16.

ARK bill

(e) In addition to the requirements of this subchapter, a voluntary
11 enhanced security driver’s license, voluntary enhanced security commercial
12 driver’s license, or voluntary enhanced security identification card issued
13 under this subchapter shall be subject to all provisions of the Driver's
14 License Security and Modernization Act, § 27-16-1101 et seq.

15 (f) If another provision of Arkansas law conflicts with the provisions
16 of this subchapter, the provisions of this subchapter shall control.

Now... does Arkansas' legislative body realize that they are attempting to write into law, a law, that is in opposition to another standing law... or are they just stupid?

We will see.

AT LAST THERE IS A GLIMMER OF HOPE FROM THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY... SIGNS OF SANITY ARE STARTING TO SURFACE OVER THE GLOBAL WARMING SCAM

8 DEMS OPPOSE QUICK DEBATE ON GLOBAL WARMING BILL
By ANDREW TAYLOR - Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON -- Eight Senate Democrats are opposing speedy action on President Barack Obama's bill to combat global warming, complicating prospects for the legislation and creating problems for their party's leaders.

The eight Democrats disapprove of using the annual budget debate to pass Obama's "cap and trade" bill to fight greenhouse gas emissions, a measure that divides lawmakers, environmentalists and businesses. The lawmakers' opposition makes it more difficult for Democratic leaders to move the bill without a threat of a Republican filibuster....

"Enactment of a cap-and-trade regime is likely to influence nearly every feature of the U.S. economy," wrote the Democratic senators, mostly moderates. They were joined by 25 Republicans. "Legislation so far-reaching should be fully vetted and given appropriate time for debate."....

Under a cap and trade system, the government would auction off permits to emit greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide. The auctions would raise almost $650 billion over the next decade, with the cost passed on to consumers as higher energy prices.

And... that last sentence that I put in italics... allow me to interpret... "The 'Cap and Trade' scheme to pay for the 'Global Warming Scam' will ultimately hurt the least able to pay... our poorest citizens will suffer the most."

Pure and simple.

So much for this administration looking out for the little guy... this administration is rather looking out for the little guy's wallet... how to get into it...

I just can't for the life of me fathom how anyone or any group can be so brazen with their lies and deception that hurt the most vulnerable of our people?

On purpose.

This is madness personified.

John 8:12 tells us,
“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
Isn’t it good to know that when you have the light of the world (Jesus) you are never really alone? Nor do we have to stumble around groping to find our way for we know that
“He will never leave us or forsake us” (Hebrews 13:5).
Give praise to God who knows you and still loves you.

"History affords us many instances of the ruin of states, by the prosecution of measures ill suited to the temper and genius of their people. The ordaining of laws in favor of one part of the nation, to the prejudice and oppression of another, is certainly the most erroneous and mistaken policy. An equal dispensation of protection, rights, privileges, and advantages, is what every part is entitled to, and ought to enjoy... These measures never fail to create great and violent jealousies and animosities between the people favored and the people oppressed; whence a total separation of affections, interests, political obligations, and all manner of connections, by which the whole state is weakened."

--Benjamin Franklin, Emblematical Representations

Now... I wonder if Mr. Franklin might have considered taxing one segment of our population to "spread the wealth around" to other segments of our population... as a measure that would "create great and violent jealousies and animosities between the people favored and the people oppressed."

Of course our administration is generating tremendous animosities... this is not rocket science... just simple horse sense...

Our only question at this point is whether this is being done for a planned political purpose or is the current administration simply stupid?

This is the question facing us.

AP IMPACT: IMMIGRANTS FACE DETENTIONS, FEW RIGHTS
By MICHELLE ROBERTS, Associated Press Writer

America's detention system for immigrants has mushroomed in the last decade, a costly building boom that was supposed to sweep up criminals and ensure that undocumented immigrants were quickly shown the door.

Instead, an Associated Press computer analysis of every person being held on a recent Sunday night shows that most did not have a criminal record and many were not about to leave the country — voluntarily or via deportation.

An official Immigration and Customs Enforcement database, obtained under the Freedom of Information Act, showed a U.S. detainee population of exactly 32,000 on the evening of Jan. 25.....

Obama warns of US food 'hazard'

A US salmonella outbreak in peanut products this year left 600 people sick.

President Barack Obama has said the US food safety system is a "public health hazard" and in need of an overhaul.

He sounded the warning during his weekly radio and video address, as he appointed a new head of the federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

New York Health Commissioner Margaret Hamburg has been named for the post.

Mr Obama cited a string of recent food safety scandals including a salmonella outbreak in peanut products this year that has been linked to nine deaths.

The president said recent underfunding and understaffing at the FDA had left the agency unable to conduct annual inspections of more than a fraction of America's 150,000 food processing premises.

"That is a hazard to public health. It is unacceptable. And it will change under the leadership of Dr Margaret Hamburg," Mr Obama pledged.

Did you see my added italics? "Underfunding and understaffing"... that is political code for more taxes and more government employees.

Just in case you were wondering.

I thought we were going to stop this fear talking?
