One of our nations most liberal women activists is sounding off...and sounding like a conservative radio talk show host! Holy Cow! She's making sense on many points and the Dem's should be listening to Camille Paglia! And this from Salon?

And with the Democrats' record of sex scandals, what the hell were they thinking of? For heaven's sake, after we just got through the whole Clinton maelstrom! What Clinton did with Monica Lewinsky was far worse than any evidence I've seen thus far about what Foley did with these pages. Clinton, whom I voted for twice, used his superior power as an employer to lure Monica Lewinsky, who was perfectly willing, into these squalid sexual assignations on the grounds of the White House. There was a time when feminists were arguing, in regard to sexual harassment in the workplace, that any gross disparity in power cannot possibly produce informed consent. All of a sudden, all of that was abandoned for partisan reasons in the Clinton case. I take the European view that any government official has the right to conduct as many sexual affairs as he wishes -- off government property. But Clinton, with all his power, somehow couldn't figure out a way to discreetly meet his chosen women at the mansions of his many friends. I can understand why hotels and motels might have been difficult to manage, with the telltale Secret Service presence. But to use the hallway off the Oval Office for those encounters -- to be serviced by a young woman to whom he gave no other dignity and whom he used like a washrag -- he turned that hallway into a sleazy mosh pit! The Democrats are being extremely imprudent to arouse all those sleeping tigers again -- particularly if their next presidential nomination is Hillary Clinton. They've reignited the endless series of charges about Clinton's allegedly abusive physical encounters with women, beginning when he was governor of Arkansas. The Foley case shrinks in comparison to Clinton's rumored history of hitting on women in subordinate positions.

And there is much more on Rice and Dem candidates, or the lack of credible ones, etc...! And this interview just days before the election, with her painting the Dems as totally out of touch with America 2006? Strange rantings from the far left, it's like she is conceiding abject defeat for the left side of politics...well...she does.

She also as an athiest argues for the absolute necessity of religion in society.

Overall a rather remarkable admission. Rush, or Hannidy would be proud of her arguments...come to think of it...we might be hearing them repeating most all of what she says...matter of fact it sounds like she has taken her talking points from them!

Read it and see what you think.

National Geographic picture

The Sky is Falling!!!

This Picture and the following news story reminds XtnYoda of the "Global Warming" alarmists for some strange reason. Thirty years ago "Time" magazine was predicting the soon to descend upon us "Ice Age".

The Sky is Falling, the Sky is Falling!!!

Ape Scolded for Pulling Fire Alarm

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- When firefighters responded to an alarm at a local research center, they found no fire and one guilty ape.

A bonobo named Panbanisha pulled the fire alarm last Friday at the Great Ape Trust of Iowa, said apologetic researchers.

"It's my understanding that she's been told not to do it again," Trust spokesman Al Setka said.

The fire alarm is on a wall in an area used by the apes and members of the scientific team. Panbanisha, a 25-year-old female, is one of seven bonobos at the facility, and was among the first group to arrive in April 2005. Bonobos are among the most human-like of the great apes.

Setka said Sue Savage-Rumbaugh, a lead scientist studying the behavior and intelligence of bonobos, scolded Panbanisha.

Fire department spokesman Brian O'Keefe said Monday it was the first known case of an animal setting off a fire alarm in Des Moines.

XtnYoda guessess that it doesn't take much more than an ape to sound a false alarm. Wonder who is going to scold our newly evolved species of "Great Apes"?

An Inconvenient Bible Truth!

The theory is that the first use of a word in Christian scripture has special significance for the meaning and use of that word in the rest of scripture. With that theory in mind let us take a look at the much abused word ‘Hallelujah’.

The first use of the ‘Hallelujah’ occurs at the end of Psalm 104.

Ps 104:33-35

33 I will sing to the LORD all my life;

I will sing praise to my God while I live.

34 May my meditation be pleasing to Him;

I will rejoice in the LORD.

35 May sinners vanish from the earth

and the wicked be no more.

My soul, praise the LORD!

Hallelujah!

(from Holman Christian Standard Bible® Copyright © 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003 by Holman Bible Publishers.)

Please notice that which elicits the exuberant shout from the people of God, that being the vanquishing of the wicked by the LORD God. Try that shout of praise in this world today and one would probably be locked up. One might protest and respond, “Well, that is the Old Testament, we don’t live under the Old Testament…we are New Testament believers! Our God is a God of Love and we are taught to love our enemies and turn the other cheek. We should never rejoice at the destruction of wicked people! And when they do their wickedness we should be the first to rush out with words of forgiveness. That is what God would have us do!”

Let us then take a look at the first witness of the New Testament, the first time the ‘Hallelujah’ is used in the New Testament.

Rev 19:1-8

1 After this I heard something like the loud voice of a vast multitude in heaven, saying:

Hallelujah!

Salvation, glory, and power belong to our God,

2 because His judgments are true and righteous, because He has judged the notorious prostitute

who corrupted the earth with her sexual immorality; and He has avenged the blood of His servants that was on her hands.

3 A second time they said:

Hallelujah!

Her smoke ascends forever and ever!

4 Then the 24 elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God, who is seated on the throne, saying:

Amen! Hallelujah!

5 A voice came from the throne, saying: Praise our God, all you His servants, you who fear Him, both small and great!

6 Then I heard something like the voice of a vast multitude, like the sound of cascading waters, and like the rumbling of loud thunder, saying:

Hallelujah — because our Lord God, the Almighty,

has begun to reign!

7 Let us be glad, rejoice, and give Him glory, because the marriage of the Lamb has come,

and His wife has prepared herself.

8 She was permitted to wear fine linen, bright and pure. For the fine linen represents the righteous acts of the saints.

(from Holman Christian Standard Bible® Copyright © 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003 by Holman Bible Publishers.)

What we see is all of heaven and earth rejoicing at the destruction of the wicked ‘Babylon’ for her harm done to the people of God. “Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!!!”

Hummmmm. I don’t remember that song being sung recently on the radio or in our assemblies, “Hallelujah, for our God has destroyed the wicked! Hallelujah!”

Quite different than the osshie/gooshie stuff we lift up to our King.

So...in both the Old and New Testaments the first use of the 'Hallulujah' is used in reference to the saints of God rejoicing at the destruction of the wicked. Very interesting.

Further thoughts on the Amish killings following a challenge on the razor's edge board of Brutally Honest.
http://www.brutallyhonest.org/brutally_honest/

The response was from a good person called Nicks:

XtnYoda,

I think you have taken some unwarranted liberty with the text.

Cain is the murderer, not the parent. So the question God asks is, “did you do evil to your brother?”

If you take exception to the Amish fathers forgiveness, please explain the verses you left out

He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood is crying to Me from the ground. “Now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. “When you cultivate the ground, it will no longer yield its strength to you; you will be a vagrant and a wanderer on the earth.”

Cain said to the LORD, “My punishment is too great to bear! “Behold, You have driven me this day from the face of the ground; and from Your face I will be hidden, and I will be a vagrant and a wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me.” So the LORD said to him, “Therefore whoever kills Cain, vengeance will be taken on him sevenfold.” And the LORD appointed a sign for Cain, so that no one finding him would slay him. Gen. 4:10-15 (NASB)

Wow, God not only lets him live, He insures that others cannot kill him.

To which I have responded and added a little more here on my blog:

God nowhere lifted the curse that he placed on Cain. God never said that Cain was forgiven. God never asked Adam nor Eve to forgive Cain for killing their son, but I didn't go there. Cain was forever separated from his family for his deed.

I don't know God's purposes for sending Cain off to father other people groups, honestly don't know. This act of murder was committed before there was a law given. Had Cain murdered Abel after the law he would have been stoned to death.

We don't see Adam and Eve rushing out to make statements of forgiveness, rather words of extreem grief at the loss. We don't see Adam or Eve making statements to the effect that the murder of Abel was God's will. God did not say it was his will for Cain to murder Abel. Before Cain killed Abel we see God actually trying to talk him out of it!

Gen 4:3-7
3 In the course of time Cain presented some of the land's produce as an offering to the LORD. 4 And Abel also presented an offering — some of the firstborn of his flock and their fat portions. The LORD had regard for Abel and his offering, 5 but He did not have regard for Cain and his offering. Cain was furious, and he was downcast.

6 Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you furious? And why are you downcast? 7 If you do right, won't you be accepted? But if you do not do right, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but you must master it."
(from Holman Christian Standard Bible® Copyright © 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003 by Holman Bible Publishers.)

We then see God's grieved response to Abel's bloods crying out to him.

I am too deeply grieved for words for how I feel toward these Amish fathers who have been placed in the position of abdicating all responsibility for defending their daughters/children...then deflecting the blame to God for their deaths. They have been totally stripped of their masculinity.

I grieve over the surviving children of all such as the Amish. At bedtime prayers, "Daddy, if a mad man comes here to kill us tomorrow, will you let him kill us?"

"Yes dear ones, it will be God's will. I will run away. But don't fret now, we will look so noble to the world when we quickly make statements of forgiveness. Sleep tight now."

Total emasculation.

Total madness.

I did find this interview with one Amish man named Freeman on the net. It goes like this:

His non-resistance is based on "the peace of God within us." His response to the tragedies of September 11th and the ensuing invasion of Iraq is to pray for all involved.

Freeman and his Amish friend Laverne have experienced criticism for their refusal to participate in military action. "We have feelings too, just like everyone else," Laverne pointed out. He confessed to suffering sorrow and confusion by the threat of terrorism, wondering at times, "Has the world gone crazy?" But the Scriptures he meditates on assure him "God is in control -- we need to trust God." When he is challenged or belittled for his beliefs, he shares the words of Matthew 5:38-48, 2 Corinthians 10:3-4, and Romans 12:17-21, which he considers to be "the core of the New Testament."

"I try to lay down my human feelings and not be narrow-minded," he explained, always keeping an open mind to the opinions of others.

"We do appreciate the freedom we have in this country," added Freeman. "We pay our taxes just like everyone else, as Jesus commanded when He said "Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and unto God what is God's." But Freeman also pointed out "the true freedom we have goes beyond anything this world can offer. Our home is in Heaven; we are what the Bible calls 'strangers and pilgrims’' here. Through the love of God, we are free from the bondage of sin."

Although the principles of non-resistance preclude attacking or harming anyone else, Amish and Mennonite men expressed a willingness to put themselves in harm¹s way to protect others.

"I would stand in the gap between the victim and the attacker, and resist (the attacker) in the name of Jesus Christ," said Freeman. "I trust that the Lord would provide. God forbid that I would ever kill someone."

I would say to Mr. Freeman...YES! More Sir!!! Stand up and become the man God intends for you to be!

MADNESS! Madness is the only word that I can conjure up in my mind for these killings.

Two of the girls were pronounced dead at the schoolhouse, and a third died later in the day at a nearby hospital. Two more girls died of their injuries overnight, hospital officials said. Miller identified the slain girls as Lena Miller, 7, and Mary Liz Miller, 8; Naomi Ebersol, 7; Anna Mae Stoltzfus, 12; and Marian Fisher, 13.

Two of the injured girls are eight years old, Miller said; the others are 6, 11 and 13 years old. The only other girl in the schoolhouse when Roberts entered, a 9-year-old, managed to escape along with her brother, Miller said.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/10/03/AR2006100300229.html

Let us to the scripture go for a lesson?

Gen 4:8-11
Cain said to his brother Abel, "Let's go out to the field." And while they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.

9 Then the LORD said to Cain, "Where is your brother Abel?"

"I don't know," he replied. "Am I my brother's guardian?"

10 Then He said, "What have you done? Your brother's blood cries out to Me from the ground! 11 So now you are cursed with alienation from the ground that opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood you have shed.
(from Holman Christian Standard Bible® Copyright © 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003 by Holman Bible Publishers.)

Let us first consider God's question of Cain, "Where is your brother Abel?", and Cain's rather smart retort, "Am I my brother's guardian?" Seems in the back of my mind I can hear God's unspoken answer, "Well, yes. You should have guarded you brother."

Seems I can hear God ask of an Amish father, "Where is your daughter?" Would I also hear him respond, "Am I my daughters guardian?" The father's answer to his own question is a very simple, "No, I am not." That is obvious. Then the father continues the conversation with God according to the news reports, "Not only am I not my daughters guardian, but it is obviously your will that my daughter has been killed!"

God hesitates, "Excuse me? You don't think I would want you to protect your daughter? You think it is my will that your daughter was murdered?"

Rather like madness seems to me. And yet there is more.

God now says to the self deflecting father, "
What have you allowed done? Your daughter's blood cries out to Me from the ground!"

The Hebrew is interesting here for the Hebrew word 'blood' in actually plural and would more correctly be translated 'bloods'. What God would actually seem to be saying is that not only has the daughter been killed but all the children, grandchildren, etc. that she would have born...are all gone and crying out to God.

God doesn't endorse Cain's killing of Abel, rather his response is, "
So now you are cursed with alienation from the ground that opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood you have shed." Hummmm...Yet the father of the girl says, "Oh, by the way God, I forgive the person who killed my daughter...don't you?"

So, to me this is MADNESS!
