Casting a mountain into the sea are we? This is what our Master taught us.

Mark 11:23 I assure you that you can say to this mountain, 'May God lift you up and throw you into the sea,' and your command will be obeyed. All that's required is that you really believe and do not doubt in your heart. NLT

The picture above is taken from the Olive Mountain looking at Zion Mountain. The Islamic dome one sees is where the Temple would have been seen.

What is it our Master is teaching us here? The verses just before this are dealing with the 'drying up' of the fig tree and are a part of the same conversation Master YahShua is having with his men. The fig tree represents the empty promises of what religion had become. The fig tree produces figs before it produces leaves so by the time leaves are present one would expect a great number of figs to be present...but not this fig tree!

Religion in Israel had been around a long time and had time for many leaves to flourish on its branches. One would expect great fruit because of all the nurture and care God had provided. There were so many promises of help, hope, and healing...many leaves...no fruit.

Master YahShua was disturbed, dried up the leaves to show the tree's emptiness then turns toward the Temple Mount...Mount Zion...for our lesson. The Mount of Olives from which Master YahShua was speaking is just across the Kidron valley from the Temple Mound...a simple few hundred yards. Master YahShua turns from the dead fig and faces the Temple Mound...Zion...and makes his bold, prophetic promise..."You have the power to throw this mountain into the sea if you only believe!" What is the meaning of this one might ask? I am glad you asked for by grace allow me to share...

Mount Zion represents the presence of God with the Temple being the startling presence over Jerusalem seen from all directions...seen from Olive Mountain. Master YahShua points to the Zion Mountain and says we may cast it into the sea, we may cast the presence of God into the sea! What may the 'Sea' represent we ask?

The 'Sea' represents humanity in general...the sea of humanity...

Rev 15:2 "I saw before me what seemed to be a crystal sea mixed with fire. And on it stood all the people who had been victorious over the beast and his statue and the number representing his name."
NLT

Master YahShua tells His church that if we would we could take the presence of God (Zion Mountain) and cast it into the sea of humanity. It is what we have been instructed to do. It is what we have been saved to do. It is what we have been chosen to do. It is what we have been empowered to do.

Are there risks? There are always risks when one casts out to sea.

As someone has said, "Nothing ventured...nothing gained!"

Join with those with hungry hearts...get outside of the neat, comfortable, safe, familiar little world where you live and weigh anchor! Raise the sails into the winds of the Spirit! Head for the deep waters...wind blowing in your face! Feel the salt spray pelt your tender face! Laugh in the face of fear! Learn to breath again...live again...dare again!

Cast that Mountain into the Sea!!!

Here just in time for the Christmas holidays the former defense minister of Canada informs us that the UFO's are coming!!! Quite a difference from the coming of God's Son to our world think I.

OTTAWA, CANADA (PRWEB) November 24, 2005 -- A former Canadian Minister of Defence and Deputy Prime Minister under Pierre Trudeau has joined forces with three Non-governmental organizations to ask the Parliament of Canada to hold public hearings on Exopolitics -- relations with “ETs.”

By “ETs,” Mr. Hellyer and these organizations mean ethical, advanced extraterrestrial civilizations that may now be visiting Earth.

On September 25, 2005, in a startling speech at the University of Toronto that caught the attention of mainstream newspapers and magazines, Paul Hellyer, Canada’s Defence Minister from 1963-67 under Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Prime Minister Lester Pearson, publicly stated: "UFOs, are as real as the airplanes that fly over your head."

Mr. Hellyer went on to say, "I'm so concerned about what the consequences might be of starting an intergalactic war, that I just think I had to say something."

Hellyer revealed, "The secrecy involved in all matters pertaining to the Roswell incident was unparalled. The classification was, from the outset, above top secret, so the vast majority of U.S. officials and politicians, let alone a mere allied minister of defence, were never in-the-loop."

Hellyer warned, "The United States military are preparing weapons which could be used against the aliens, and they could get us into an intergalactic war without us ever having any warning. He stated, "The Bush administration has finally agreed to let the military build a forward base on the moon, which will put them in a better position to keep track of the goings and comings of the visitors from space, and to shoot at them, if they so decide."

And, yes indeed, if the War of the Worlds breaks out it will lie at the door of the USA's responsibility. One more conspiracy theory for the fearful indeed.

Ben Franklin's account of the first Thanksgiving

"The Real Story of the First Thanksgiving," as told by Franklin himself (below), is just one of the many topics covered in The Compleated Autobiography by Benjamin Franklin.

The Real Story of the First Thanksgiving
By Benjamin Franklin (1785)

“There is a tradition that in the planting of New England, the first settlers met with many difficulties and hardships, as is generally the case when a civiliz’d people attempt to establish themselves in a wilderness country. Being so piously dispos’d, they sought relief from heaven by laying their wants and distresses before the Lord in frequent set days of fasting and prayer. Constant meditation and discourse on these subjects kept their minds gloomy and discontented, and like the children of Israel there were many dispos’d to return to the Egypt which persecution had induc’d them to abandon.

“At length, when it was proposed in the Assembly to proclaim another fast, a farmer of plain sense rose and remark’d that the inconveniences they suffer’d, and concerning which they had so often weary’d heaven with their complaints, were not so great as they might have expected, and were diminishing every day as the colony strengthen’d; that the earth began to reward their labour and furnish liberally for their subsistence; that their seas and rivers were full of fish, the air sweet, the climate healthy, and above all, they were in the full enjoyment of liberty, civil and religious.

“He therefore thought that reflecting and conversing on these subjects would be more comfortable and lead more to make them contented with their situation; and that it would be more becoming the gratitude they ow’d to the divine being, if instead of a fast they should proclaim a thanksgiving. His advice was taken, and from that day to this, they have in every year observ’d circumstances of public felicity sufficient to furnish employment for a Thanksgiving Day, which is therefore constantly ordered and religiously observed.”

Please...a safe Thanksgiving may you have!

Wonder do I?

Who do athiests give thanks to at Thanksgiving? An athiest's Thanksgiving prayer I shall try:

Oh Me,
I thank me, me
for all the blessings I have given to myself this past year. May my days ahead be filled with my goodness and may my efforts lead me to greater expressions of self gratitude.
For all I have done for myself...I give me thanks.
In my name I marvel,
Me

Now for a little different approach go to the following site and give thanks with the Presidential Prayer Team during these days of testing.

A Look at point three from the Puritan Catechism.

[Question 3: What do the Scriptures principally teach?

Answer: The Scriptures principally teach what man is to believe concerning God, and what duty God requires of man]

It would be answered better to say, "The Scriptures principally teach that man is hopelessly lost apart from God!" Until man recognizes the pitiful state in which he is, no hope has he. To not see accurately ones self then arrogant indeed will one be. For instance the righteous one Job as an example have we! Listen to his accusation of God:

Job 30:20-21
"I cry to you, O God, but you don't answer me. I stand before you, and you don't bother to look. 21 You have become cruel toward me. You persecute me with your great power.
NLT

Then the fourth spokesman correctly responds:

Job 32:2
Then Elihu...became angry. He was angry because Job refused to admit that he had sinned and that God was right in punishing him.
NLT

What Job failed to see was that his sin was not in what he did not do or how much good he may have done...but his sin was in what he was! Like all of the human race was he...a sinner before the Holy. So the Holy One to Job did speak:

Job 40:1-5
Then the LORD said to Job, 2 "Do you still want to argue with the Almighty? You are God's critic, but do you have the answers?" 3 Then Job replied to the LORD, 4 "I am nothing--how could I ever find the answers? I will put my hand over my mouth in silence. 5 I have said too much already. I have nothing more to say."
NLT

And, the Holy One could finally teach this 'righteous' man when at last his mouth was shut! And speak God did of God! Until finally Job could see something of the One when he at last saw he himself:

Job 42:5-6
"I had heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes. 6 I take back everything I said, and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance."
NLT

Not until Job saw who he was, and wasn't, did he begin to 'see God'.

Look first to see the beam in one's own eye before one dare to speak of seeing or learning of God.

Next Consideration from the "Puritan Catechism"

Question 2: What rule has God given to direct us how we may glorify him?

Answer: The Word of God which is contained in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments is the only rule to direct us how we may glorify God and enjoy him.

Only the Word of God you say? By that same Word we read in John 5:38-40, "...And you do not have his message in your hearts, because you do not believe me--the one he sent to you. 39 You search the Scriptures because you believe they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me! 40 Yet you refuse to come to me so that I can give you this eternal life."
NLT

The Word without the Spirit residing in the heart is oh so empty. Pride, arrogance, and finally empty 'religion' are the result thereof. We hear or read the Word but less the Spirit opens our hearts to believe the Word we are left with confusion and human tradition.

Gal 3:1-3, "You foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified? 2 This is the only thing I want to find out from you: did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?"
NASU

The Spirit it takes to open the human heart to the truth of the Word. One may hear, read, memorize, immerse ones self in the Word, but hungry hearted one, without the Spirit working in the heart...mizery will the result be!

You will say, "I need to do more! I need to learn more! I need to pray more!"...more, more, more...and all the while you gain less, less, less...until finally empty you are.

Again the "Puritan Catechism" starts with us trying to learn what we must do to enjoy God...wrong focus indeed. Start with the wrong focus and the target you want to hit will not in your sights be...and neither will you end up where you want to go!

Vetrans Day, November 11, 2005, USA

For one moment on this day
take a little time to pause,
to pray,
to say,
"Thank you."

Not all can go
thankfully, not all should go...nor need go,
But there are those who will...who do...and have gone.
And some are gone...
forever.

For you...the forever gone...I cheer...
I weep.
I felt your heart...beat its last.
That dreadful final whimper.......
mom

Sullen face now pale
so brave and unafraid to fear.
Salute you do I.
But, lift up your head
we remember
we cheer
we are still free.

May you truly rest now
our children play.

Hear you I can Posted by Picasa
Me thinks time it is to come from hiding out. The convergence in the force great it is. Stressed time is indeed.

Convergence: When two or more oppositions together come.

Battle lines drawn are they
division builds, holds the day.
Captive thus are we
to each their own captivity.
Soar we must
above the fray
for Truth is the victory!

The journey long will be,
but sweet the journey is.
Forsake not
hold on
let your spirit be.
