Gov. Jan Brewer sues the Fed

Gov. Jan Brewer has filed suit against our federal government for our government not doing the 1 (one) job our federal government is charged to do ... to protect our borders and our citizens.

My Way AP
PHOENIX (AP) - Gov. Jan Brewer sued the federal government Thursday for failing to control Arizona's border with Mexico and enforce immigration laws, and for sticking the state with huge costs associated with jailing illegal immigrants who commit crimes.

The lawsuit claims the federal government has failed to protect Arizona from an "invasion" of illegal immigrants. It seeks increased reimbursements and extra safeguards, such as additional border fences.

Brewer's court filing serves as a countersuit in the federal government's legal challenge to Arizona's new enforcement immigration law. The U.S. Justice Department is seeking to invalidate the law.

"Because the federal government has failed to protect the citizens of Arizona, I am left with no other choice," Brewer said.....

And remember, our Justice Department has sued Arizona for actually trying to protect its borders.

This is disgusting and embarrassing to have to be in the news. Individual States in our Union find themselves in the position of having to defend themselves against our own federal government ... as our States try to protect themselves from the illegal insurgency over their borders.

This is madness.

Now it's Sarkozy

This via Brutally Honest

On Monday, I referred to the lessons from Europe coming our way via Britain and before that Germany.

It's France's turn:
Sarkozy French President Nicolas Sarkozy declared Thursday that multiculturalism had failed, joining a growing number of world leaders or ex-leaders who have condemned it.

"My answer is clearly yes, it is a failure," he said in a television interview when asked about the policy which advocates that host societies welcome and foster distinct cultural and religious immigrant groups.

"Of course we must all respect differences, but we do not want... a society where communities coexist side by side.

"If you come to France, you accept to melt into a single community, which is the national community, and if you do not want to accept that, you cannot be welcome in France," the right-wing president said.

"The French national community cannot accept a change in its lifestyle, equality between men and women... freedom for little girls to go to school," he said.

"We have been too concerned about the identity of the person who was arriving and not enough about the identity of the country that was receiving him," Sarkozy said in the TFI channel show.

Hope in Europe.

Might it emigrate here.

"cultural relativism is a fancy phrase for what is, in practice, smug racism"

Following is to consider and ponder... very carefully.

Brutally Honest

This one from Bookworm needs to be read in full, more than once, and passed on with the same advice. What follows is but a small teaser:

Modern so-called liberals, of course, would never dream of saying that the brown people of the world are less than fully human because of their race. May’s point, however, is that, when it comes to Muslims, we still manage to treat them that way. (I’ll add that the same holds true for the low, low standards so-called liberals establish for black people.)

Sure, we in the West treat women well, but we certainly can’t expect that level of sophistication from the brown people. And sure, we treat gays well, but we have to understand that the brown people haven’t evolved to that point, and we should therefore just ignore their sins. And sure, we can tolerate free speech (or, at least, if we’re a so-called liberal, we pay lip-service to the notion of free speech), but we’re big enough to recognize that the brown people haven’t matured enough as a race to handle it.

The exceptionally low standards we allow for Muslims and blacks are always phrased in terms of “respect” for the “other” culture. “Respect,” however, is a misnomer. True respect is impossible if we consistently assert that the “others” (who invariably have skin darker than ours) cannot hold themselves to the normative behaviors of which we’re most proud.

...

I don’t see any of our liberals recognizing in Muslims the common humanity that the more enlightened English and Christians saw in the East Indians or Native Americans. Instead, our cultural relativists glory in their own superiority. Sure, they’ll bad-mouth their own culture left, right and center, but they know that their respect for women, for gays, and for other people who have traditionally been oppressed, makes them better than other cultures that continue to oppress those same people. In other words, cultural relativism is a fancy phrase for what is, in practice, smug racism....

The following tactical mission by ICE must have been beautiful to behold.... 800 law enforcement agents swooping down....

FOX story
Massive Human Smuggling Ring Busted in Arizona

More than 800 law enforcement agents swooped down on a massive human smuggling ring in Arizona Thursday, delivering what Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials called a "serious blow" to a criminal network that helped shuttle illegal immigrants all around the U.S.

Thursday's strike is the largest coordinated action ever led by ICE, which partnered with eight other federal, state and local agencies to arrest 47 suspects in Phoenix, Tucson, Nogales and Rio Rico, Arizona.

"Alien smugglers are a scourge," ICE Assistant Secretary John Morton said. "They violate our borders ... [and] profit at our expense by knowingly breaking our laws, day in and day out. Today we turned the tables on the smugglers."....

All the while our Federal Justice System is suing Arizona for attempting to protect herself from the very same criminals.

Perhaps this is a sign of a new effort on the part of our federal government to actually work to protect our states from these insurgent forces? Here's hoping.

A new Pew Hispanic study is reporting that in the last couple of years we have come to the point where 1 out of every 15 children born in the US are born to at least one parent that is here illegally.

I think this should be a little food for thought...

Estimate: 1 US Kid in 15 Born to an Illegal Immigrant
Arizona Daily Star

PHOENIX – About one out of every 15 children in the United States was born to a family in which at least one parent is in this country illegally, according to a new report issued today. And 80 percent of those 5.1 million children – including 340,000 born in just 2008 – are citizens because they were born in the United States, the Pew Hispanic Center concluded. According to some, that makes them “anchor babies” for their illegal parents.

The figures, which the organization calculated based on 2009 U.S. Census Bureau estimates, are the best estimates to date of the scope of the issue, which has resulted in calls to amend the U.S. Constitution to deny automatic citizenship to children solely by virtue of their birth in this country....

This report is demonstrating for us just how real the issue of illegal immigration truly is in this country. This also demonstrates why congress is starting to talk about amending the right of a child born on our soil to automatically be a citizen of our nation.

Whatever congress comes up with it is obvious that this vital issue is not going to just go away.

OK... a Mexican drug gang has allegedly placed a $1,000,000 (one million dollar) bounty on Sheriff Joe's head.

This is in effect a declaration of war against the citizens of the United States of America for Sheriff Arpaio, is an elected official of the citizens of his county.

This needs to be treated as an act of declared war by our federal government with the full involvement of our United States Military to squash this aggression against one of our elected officials.

FOX Phoenix
Mexican Drug Cartel Allegedly Puts a Price on Arizona Sheriff's Head... $1M offered for Arpaio.

PHOENIX - He's been at the center of the discussions and controversies surrounding illegal immigration enforcement in Arizona for quite a while.

On the day parts of Arizona's immigration law, SB 1070, went into effect, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is in the news for another reason: there's a price on his head - allegedly offered by a Mexican drug cartel.

The audio message in Spanish is a bit garbled, but the text is clear.

"It's offering a million dollars for Sheriff Joe Arpaio's head and offering a thousand dollars for anyone who wants to join the Mexican cartel."....

Lisa Allen of the Sheriff's office says they believe the message originated in Mexico. Although the Sheriff has received numerous death threats in the past, they believe this threat is credible because of its timing.

"Arpaio gets threats pretty routinely, but obviously with this heightened awareness of his role in the immigration issue we've got to take this one a little bit more seriously with a million dollar contract out on him," said Allen.

But she says what really concerns investigators is how quickly the message may have been spread. "It's going so many different places that our folks are looking at it and thinking well at any given point in time it could land in front of some crazy person who thinks I can do that."

As for Arpaio's reaction to the threat, "It's a little bit like water off a duck's back for him, but you never know if it's that sense of false bravado with him..you just can't read it, I'm sure he's concerned, I'm sure he's concerned for his family more than anything else," said Allen....

OK... Commander in Chief... we are awaiting your swift and decisive response.

Here is one more bucket of gas being poured on the raging fire in the hearts of Americans.

This will not bode well in November for the progressives. All is well... they are being exposed exactly for what they truly are...

... all is well.

Yahoo News story
Feds to file lawsuit over Arizona immigration law

PHOENIX – The U.S. Justice Department is filing a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of Arizona's new law targeting illegal immigrants, setting the stage for a clash between the federal government and state over the nation's toughest immigration crackdown.

The planned lawsuit was confirmed to The Associated Press by a Justice Department official with knowledge of the plans. The official didn't want to be identified before a public announcement planned for later Tuesday by Attorney General Eric Holder and Homeland Security secretary Janet Napolitano, a former Arizona governor.....

Every campaign promise made to the American people has been shattered... and the progressive disdain for America is more apparent each and every day... each and every day.

This is necessary.

On The Mark is on the mark again with this follow-up video to the video of Sen. Kyl stating that the president of the US told him that in order for the president to secure the border the president would first have to secure immigration reform... which is as crooked as politics can get.

The White House of course denies the president said any such thing... now the video of McCain explaining that the president said exactly that very thing to him and... 39 other republican senators a few weeks ago.

So... who's lying?

It's time for a Grand Jury investigation... under oath... and lets see who perjures themselves then.

Arizona Senator Kyl reveals an absolutely shocking exchange that he personally had with the President of the US. This is... remarkable... in the worst sense of the word.

Human Events post
Video - Sen. Kyl: 'Obama Says No Border Security without Amnesty' (by Connie Hair)

In a stunning revelation at an Arizona town hall meeting this past Friday, Republican Senator Jon Kyl told his constituents that President Obama privately insisted that he will not secure the border until amnesty for illegal aliens passes first....

Transcript (at 3:21): SEN. JON KYL:
I met with the president in the Oval Office, just the two of us… Here’s what the president said. “The problem is,” he said, "If we secure the border, then you all won’t have any reason to support comprehensive immigration reform.”

[gasps from the audience]

KYL: In other words they’re holding it hostage. They don’t want to secure the border unless and until it is combined with comprehensive immigration reform. I explained, “You and I have an obligation to secure the border. That’s an obligation. It also has some potentially positive benefits. You don’t have to have comprehensive immigration to secure the border, but you have to have a secure border to get comprehensive immigration reform. You may be surprised, maybe you don’t think that there’d be any more incentive, but I’m not so sure that that’s true. In any event, it doesn’t matter we’re supposed to secure the border.”

That’s why this is being done. They want to get something in return for doing their duty. And that’s—

AUDIENCE MEMBER: Chicago politics.

KYL: Yeah.

If this exchange is truly accurate from this US Senator... it smacks of the worst of "boot heel" politics... at the expense of the citizens and sovereignty of our nation's borders. The "boot heel" applied to our citizens for political advantage.

Consider and ponder.

Perhaps we should start referring to Arizona's Governor Brewer as.... America's Governor.

Just in case you are not catching it... this is pretty big stuff going on... having the heads of the United States White House, the Justice Department, and now the Secretary of State for the nation... to publicly... and now internationally... assault one of our sovereign State's decisions to defend herself is... pretty unprecedented... at least since the Civil War.

AP article

Clinton comment on immigration law riles Ariz. gov

PHOENIX – Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer said Thursday she's angry over comments by Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton that the Obama administration will sue the state over its new immigration law.

In a June 8 media interview in Ecuador that began circulating Thursday in the U.S., Clinton said President Barack Obama thinks the federal government should determine immigration policy and that the Justice Department "will be bringing a lawsuit against the act."... It's unclear why Clinton made the comment since it's not her area. She couldn't be reached Thursday for comment.....

Brewer, a Republican, said in a statement that "this is no way to treat the people of Arizona."

"To learn of this lawsuit through an Ecuadorean interview with the secretary of state is just outrageous," she said. "If our own government intends to sue our state to prevent illegal immigration enforcement, the least it can do is inform us before it informs the citizens of another nation."

Brewer spokesman Paul Senseman said the governor was "outraged" and that Clinton's comments make it appear that the Justice Department has decided to file suit.

"But she's confident that in the end, the state of Arizona, the citizens, will prevail," he said.....

"Jan Brewer... America's Governor"

I kind of like the way that sounds.

Arizona's Governor, Jan Brewer, is speaking up...

...with passion and righteousness.

Human Events
Arizona Governor Blasts Eric Holder

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer scolded Atty. Gen. Eric Holder for holding open the prospect of a lawsuit when Arizona is already facing five legal challenges over the state's new immigration law.

"I would much prefer for them not to file suit, given the fact that they could take the money and help me build a fence on my border," Brewer said in an interview with three HUMAN EVENTS editors by phone from Phoenix....

Brewer has been in the national spotlight since her state enacted legislation authorizing law enforcement officials to question people they detain as to whether they are legal U.S. residents....

Brewer said she sent a letter to Holder on June 4 that answered questions from the Justice Department on the immigration measure.... "Everything constitutional that in fact they could ever talk about is in those other suits," she told HUMAN EVENTS. "I would much prefer for them [DoJ] not to file suit, given the fact that they could take the money and help me build a fence on my border."

Overall, the Governor's legal team is asking the courts to dismiss the lawsuits.

"I hope [Holder's] read [the law] by now," Brewer said, "so that he knows what it exactly says."...

Asked what fellow governors facing similar problems with their borders and illegal immigrants are saying, Brewer mentioned that she has "certainly spoken with [Texas Republican] Gov. [Rick] Perry and [New Mexico Democratic] Gov. Richardson and Gov. Schwarzenegger with regard to it. They, of course aren't facing the problem that Arizona is because we now have been left as the gateway for all illegal immigration, drug cartels and gangs coming into the Americas."

Brewer particularly singled out Schwarzenegger, recalling that "Arnold of course has stated publicly that he didn't support it. He is much different than I am with regard to that. You know, we are a nation of laws and it's illegal and that didn't change his mind. He figured that what he read in the paper was exactly what the bill said and we kind of left it at that."

There is an awakening taking place as to the Constitutional Rights of States vs. the Federal Government. And, in this case, it ought to be the Federal Government that is supporting and assisting the State of Arizona in protecting and defending her's and our borders from the illegal insurgency that is taking place on our soil.

Now... it's Homeland Security Director Napolitano that makes herself an idiot by not only admitting that she hasn't read the Arizona Illegal Insurgent law... she then actually goes on to pontificate on why the law she hasn't read is bad.

Any Junior High School Student... if asked to defend a book report they had written... would have enough sense to know you shouldn't begin your defense by saying, "Well... I actually didn't read the book in detail... but... I know all about the book because of a review I read about the book... and from what other students have told me about the book."

The Junior High Teacher would stop the student right there... on the spot... and give the Junior High Student a well deserved "F"...

FOX News report
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano admitted Monday that she has not read the controversial Arizona immigration law even though she's gone on television to criticize it, and continued to assert that it was "bad law enforcement law."....

... Napolitano discussed the policy under questioning by Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., during a Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing ... "I have not reviewed it in detail. I certainly know of it," the former Arizona governor said when asked by McCain whether she had a chance to give the language a close look.

Nevertheless, Napolitano said, "That's not the kind of law I would have signed." Napolitano explained that she dealt with "laws of that ilk" in Arizona before and that most law enforcement groups were opposed to them.

"It's a bad law enforcement law," she said. "I believe it mandates and requires local law enforcement or puts them into a position many do not want to be placed in." .....

Ms. Napolitano... you have earned a resounding "F."

And... after the AG Holder stupidity event last week... by having to admit he hadn't read the bill he was threatening to file a federal lawsuit against... and you still didn't read the bill before going before a congressional committee...

Is there an F-?

Here's a fun little video from Sweden and their efforts to pacify Muslim radicals.

One just has to admire Lars Vilks for taking such strong stands for true freedom... freedom of speech.

And likewise... one must almost feel disdain for those who want to stifle free speech... yet want acceptance themselves... well... what they really want is ascendancy.

right side news
The latest in Muslim intolerance to free speech while demanding tolerance towards their faith. The full length clip shocking Lars Vilks being attacked at a University in Sweden by radical muslims simply for showing a portrayal of muhammad onscreen. This is the latest in muslim intolerance just after the recent south park episode and muhammad cartoons as of late.

When I watched this video yesterday my concern was that given Sweden's leftist deathwish, the people who will end up getting punished for this assault are the policemen who tried to restrain the Muslim students from killing Vilks.

By the way... such events are coming to an area near you.

EDIT: If you will look closely at the 30 second mark you will see the person in the orange hooded coat that is wrestling with the guards... you will see him hit himself in the face and turn away bent over. He does this to himself as the guard clearly has his arm extended just trying to hold the person away.

In other reports it was said that one of the attackers got his glasses broken... well... he did it himself... to himself... thats what these people are trained to do.

EDIT #2:
I was wrong about the above assessment... if you will notice the second officer to the right of the rioter... she clearly has some sort of a spray mechanism in her hand and sprays the rioter toward his face. He then recoils away.

Thanks to oldwolves for spotting this error on my part.

Chances are pretty clear that it's not just Mexicans crossing our border and into our country illegally... Mideastern terrorists are crossing the border and into our country as well...

Real Clear Politics article
Threat On Border With Mexico: Possible Terrorists Entering US

WSB-TV reports: The U.S. Border Patrol uses choppers, ATVs and horses to patrol the 2000-mile border between the Southeastern U.S. and Mexico. Agents say most of the illegals caught crossing are from Mexico or South America. Still, they say thousands of people caught are classified as O.T.M.'s, which stands for "other than Mexican". They report that includes hundreds of people from nations that sponsor terrorism.

Channel 2 Action News anchor Justin Farmer traveled to Arizona to view a detention center near Phoenix. He viewed records that show illegals in custody from from Afghanistan, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, Sudan and Yemen.

Do you think we should be concerned about securing our border?

Borg Conspiracy

Despite repeatedly voicing concerns about Arizona's new immigration enforcement law in recent weeks and threatening to challenge it, Attorney General Eric Holder said Thursday he has not yet read the law -- which is only 10 pages long.

"I have not had a chance to -- I've glanced at it," Holder said at a House Judiciary Committee hearing when asked by Rep.Ted Poe, R-Texas whether Holder has read the state law cracking down on illegal immigrants.

"I'll give you my copy of it if you would like," Poe responded.

Holder told reporters last month that he fears the new law is subject to abuse and that the Justice Department and the Homeland Security Department are in the midst of conducting a review.

I think it's time to begin a nation wide campaign for all conservatives to cancel their vacation plans... then remake vacation plans... to vacation in Arizona this year... in support of the citizens of Arizona... since the progressives are trying to bankrupt and castigate the people of Arizona.

How about meeting at the Grand Canyon?
