Yahweh, Day 149

Day 149, Yahweh: The Name... Sovereign Of Time
"I am Yahweh, that is My name; I will not give My glory to another, or My praise to idols."
Isaiah 42:8 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
Now we move into this aspect of God's very character of not just majesty ... but now we will see and understand His ... sovereignty ... not simply over the majesty of creation as it's creator ... but sovereign over creation and man's …destiny.
For the next several days we will study these first 8 verses as Yahweh reveals these intimate truths ... of Himself ... for all to behold.
This is in The Name.

Daily Nugget

Today's cherished nugget from guest blogger, Pastor Bill.
“After you’ve heard two eyewitness accounts of an auto accident, you begin to worry about history” (unknown).
In the Bible, we are given four eyewitness accounts of Jesus’ walk on earth. Each account verifies a special relationship with Jesus and His disciples.  In John 20:28 Thomas makes this confession: “My Lord and my God.”   Then Jesus thinking about us says, “Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.”
Because of faithful witnesses, we, too, can make that same confession: "My Lord and My God."
God, thank You for dedicated witnesses testifying that we might know of You.  Amen.

Daily Nugget

Today's Cherished Nugget from guest blogger, Pastor Bill.
“There is no greater sign of a general decay of virtue in a nation, than a want of zeal in its inhabitants for the good of their country” (Joseph Addison).
I am afraid as a country we have reached that place. Instead of being excited for what we can do for our country, we have raised a country of dependents whose zeal is for “What can I get for me?” This zeal is primarily the result of our having lost sight of who God is and having elevated men to the level of deities.  If we are again to be a nation under God, we must dethrone self and restore God to His rightful place.
The writer of Deuteronomy 10:20 says, “Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name.”
God, let us return to being a nation that honors You as Lord. Amen.
