Yahweh, Day 150

 

Day 150, Yahweh: The Challenge Issued

 "Let them come and tell us what will happen. Tell us the past events, so that we may reflect on it and know the outcome. Or tell us the future. 23 Tell us the coming events, then we will know that you are gods."

Isaiah 41:22-23 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

For those that desire to command the allegiance of humanity comes this challenge from The Creator of humanity. It is a simple and straight challenge.

"Tell us now ... exactly what does the future hold?  And ... when will it happen?"

Rest assured … many have tried to accept the challenge … and of course failed.  Contrast our Bible where Yahweh has revealed the future with exact certainty.  This, because Yahweh dwells in eternity and is not limited by “time” such as are we.

Intercessory Prayer:  Oh Father!  Your vastness and expanse is beyond our conception … as is Your wisdom.  We praise You for sharing Yourself with us … for Your Name’s sake.  In Jesus Name.  Amen.

Yahweh, Day 149

 

Day 149, Yahweh: The Name... Sovereign Of Time

"I am Yahweh, that is My name; I will not give My glory to another, or My praise to idols."

Isaiah 42:8 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

Now we move into this aspect of God's very character of not just majesty ... but now we will see and understand His ... sovereignty ... not simply over the majesty of creation as it's creator ... but sovereign over creation and man's …destiny.

For the next several days we will study these first 8 verses as Yahweh reveals these intimate truths ... of Himself ... for all to behold.

Yahweh, Day 148

 

Day 148, Yahweh: The Consequence On Our Part

"Do you not know? Have you not heard? Yahweh is the everlasting God, the Creator of the whole earth."

Isaiah 40:27-30 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

We've looked for the last several days at the awesome presentation of Yahweh in Isaiah 40 ... now ... the application.

"He gives strength to the weary and strengthens the powerless. Youths may faint and grow weary, and young men stumble and fall, but those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:29-31 (HCSB)

1) To “soar on eagles wings” is our devoted personal and corporate worship.

2) Our “run” is the ministry that God has called us each one to.

3) Our “walk” is our day to day lives, family/occupation/community. 

As we dedicate ourselves to each part … not neglecting any one of the other parts … that is where God renews.

Intercessory Prayer:  Oh Father!  You have gifted us each one, to thrive in each of these 3 areas of life.  Grant us grace to recognize the significance of each area … and the determination to not neglect any one area for the other area … that we might be the whole person You have formed us to be … for the glory of Your Name.  In Jesus Name.  Amen.

Yahweh, Day 147

 

Day 147, Yahweh: False Security

"Do you not know? Have you not heard? Yahweh is the everlasting God, the Creator of the whole earth."

The little boy was caught by his Mother ... in the middle of the night ... eating some of the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.

"Son ... didn't you know that even if I didn't know that you were the one that ate the cookies ... God would know and would have seen you?"

"No Mama ... God wouldn't know it was me that ate the cookies ... I ate them hiding under the table!"

"Why do you assert: ‘My way is hidden from the Lord, and my claim is ignored by my God?’"

Many adults have about as much sense as the boy with the cookies.

Yahweh, Day 146

 

Day 146, Yahweh: Asks... "Can You See?"

"Do you not know? Have you not heard? Yahweh is the everlasting God, the Creator of the whole earth."

The majesty of creation is seen from the exact unity of the tiniest microbe ... yea ... the smallest atomic structure is a miracle of organization and uniformity …  as well the brilliant expanse of the systematic Universe.

"Look up and see: who created these? He brings out the starry host by number; He calls all of them by name. Because of His great power and strength, not one of them is missing." 

Isaiah 40:26 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

To not see ... or to refuse to see the majesty of it all is.... indefensible.  This was foretold however.  “Having eyes to see they will not see and having ears to hear they will not hear.” (Isaiah 6)

Intercessory Prayer:  Oh Father!  For the praise of Your Name You have blinded the crafty and closed the ears of the arrogant.  For Your Own sake … Hallelujah!  In Jesus Name.  Amen.
