   Today's cherished nugget from guest blogger, Pastor Bill.

“Very soon, all of us will be living in the electronic village hooked up to a huge computer, and we will be able to know what everybody else in the world thinks. The majority opinion will become law in that hour” (Francis August Schaeffer, 1912–1984).

I dare say we are in that hour, or very near. We see our politicians' values change daily, based on which way the winds of the polls blow. I also believe it is not necessarily the majority, but the loudest group even--if they are a minority--that moves the polls.  Don’t you long for the return of the days of integrity when you knew day in and day out what a certain man or woman stood for? 

The writer of Matthew 5:37 records these words of Jesus, words that we need to be reminded of today and remember tomorrow: “But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.”

God, thank You for being consistent and not changing because of the polls.  Amen.

“The presence of Christ brings us his power and ability to use our limited resources in his limitless ways” (Rebecca Manley Pippert).

Just as the small boy’s lunch was enough when he let Jesus take it, bless it, and break it (Matthew 14:13-21), when we let Him have what we have, our little is much in His hand.  Many times we see it is not our ability that God wants, but our availability.

God, my resources though limited are sufficient in Your hands. Thank You. Amen.

Jet Stream

If you want to find out about "global warming" ... just follow the jet stream, and activity on our sun. As the sun cools down, the jet stream slows down. As the jet stream slows down, it falls further away from the polar regions, thereby bringing cold arctic air toward the middle of our planet. This brings on an ice age over time. The key ... the sun and the jet stream.
