Teaching "Creationism" called "Child Abuse"

The good lady calls evolution a fact.  News flash: Evolution is not fact but rather it is still a theory ... and there is a world of difference between the two.

Anyone who tells children that God – literally – created the world in seven days 6,000 years ago is guilty of perverting education.

The truth – and education should be above all else a search for truth – is that the world, and the flora and fauna in it, including homo sapiens, evolved over millions of years.

And as for God. Well, he was man’s name for the almost unimaginable force which drove (drives) the process of evolution and change – a personification. So, if you want a religious approach, the science and the creation myth complement each other. You don’t have to argue the literal and pretty absurd case for an old man in the sky striding about making decisions for and about human beings.

Good educators – parents, teachers and others – ensure that children learn to think and reason for themselves. They don’t thrust propaganda and bigotry at them or withhold facts and information.

I am not a religious believer or church goer. But I am a great admirer of much of what is in The Bible and other religious texts. They contain fine poetry, a great deal of human truth in many of the stories and an encapsulation of the cultures they sprang from and influenced – all of which I want children and young people to be led to think about. We can all learn a lot from them.

But we must never indoctrinate or permit our institutions to use indoctrination techniques.

Real Education is about open-ended questioning and challenging the mind. It also involves encouraging the learners eventually to move way beyond their teachers so that each generation explores new ground. Blinkered, limited, propagandist, religious thinking attempts to hold back or stop that process.

Brainwashing is a form of child abuse. It should have no place in any place of learning.

I'm sure the good lady doesn't realize that what she is promoting as open minded education is in fact brain-washing and qualifies as child abuse.  To force a child to believe in evolution is just as much indoctrination and brainwashing as she claims the Christians are doing. 

They are taking the next step in Brittan toward a totally secular society.  I think they shall fail.

Some of them are even from nursery schools where children are no older than three....

Australia is officially in the "child abuse" business

PRIMARY school children are being terrified by lessons claiming climate change will bring "death, injury and destruction" to the world unless they take action.

Climate change as a "Doomsday scenario" is being taught in classrooms across Australia.

Resource material produced by the Gillard government for primary school teachers and students states climate change will cause "devastating disasters".

Australian National University's Centre for the Public Awareness of Science director Dr Sue Stocklmayer said climate change had been portrayed as "Doomsday scenarios with no way out" ..... "(Children) feel incredibly despondent and helpless in the face of all this negative information," she said. "To put all of this before our children ... is one of the most appalling things we can do to (them).

Child psychologist Kimberley O'Brien also said the language of climate change should be "toned down". "(Educators) should stick to the facts," she said. "They should be aware that kids do have nightmares."

Psychologist Michael Carr-Gregg called on educators to be "more circumspect and present both sides (of the climate-change debate). When you repeat things over and over to young people who don't have the cognitive maturity and emotional maturity to process this stuff, you end up creating unnecessary anxiety," he said.

Federal Schools Minister Peter Garrett said the government would not stop the teaching of climate science, despite moves in Britain for the subject to be withdrawn.

In a video on climate change funded by the state government, one teacher from a public school in Sydney's southwest explained: "Students are being bombarded from all sides about climate change ... it can be a very scary thing (for) a child."

Obama presses for longer school years

WASHINGTON – Barely into the new school year, President Barack Obama issued a tough-love message to students and teachers on Monday: Their year in the classroom should be longer, and poorly performing teachers should get out....

... U.S. schools through high school offer an average of 180 instruction days per year, according to the Education Commission of the States, compared to an average of 197 days for lower grades and 196 days for upper grades in countries with the best student achievement levels... "That month makes a difference," the president said.....

It does make a difference who gets appointed to these offices. And rest assured that each and every one is appointed for a reason.

This administration wants our children in the government classrooms... out of their homes... so the government can... teach... them.

Our new Chicago bred educator... that made Chicago's public schools the "city on a hill" for American education... wants our kids in school 12 or so hours a day... all year long... 7 days a week.

Education secretary calls for 12-hour school days, longer school years

If Education Secretary Arne Duncan has his way, kids would be spending a lot more time at school — and a three-month summer would be a thing of the past.

Duncan joked with attendees at a luncheon at the National Press Club Tuesday in Washington that he would like schools to stay open 13 months out of the year. Then he told the audience of over 100 that he seriously supports longer school hours.

“In all seriousness, I think schools should be open 12, 13, 14 hours a day, seven days a week, 11-12 months of the year,” Duncan said. “This is not just more of the same. There would be a whole variety of after-school programs. Obviously academics would be at the heart of that. But you top it off with dancing, art, drama, music, yearbook, robotics, activities for older siblings and parents, ESL classes.”

He continued by explaining that the American school calendar is antiquated and must be modified so that American students can compete at the highest levels internationally.

“Most people realize that our current day is based on the agrarian economy, and we don’t have too many kids working out in the fields nowadays,” Duncan said. “Schools in countries that are beating us are going to school 25-30 days more than us. If you practice basketball five times a week, you’re gonna be better than the people who practice three times a week.”....

“As you guys know, our world has changed, our economy has changed,” said Duncan. “The days of telling kids to go home at 2:30 and having mom there with a peanut butter sandwich, those days are gone. Whether it’s a single parent working one, two, three jobs or two parents working, the hours from 3 o’clock to 7 o’clock are a huge anxiety, and that’s why we have to keep our schools open longer.”.....

Since the Public Education system is in such a state of failure according to Mr. Duncan... then that's just what we need... much more of it.

What they are of course after is "State Controlled Kids" with both parents working their tails off to pay the State to raise their kids... excuse me... raise the State's kids... just like the State wants them.

After seeing and hearing what this woman has to say and after grasping the methodology that she is revealing, perhaps you will understand why America is failing miserably and our children are becoming a society of assimilated zombies. Perhaps you will understand why we have raised two generations of those who replicate an regurgitate the thoughts that they are told is approved thinking.

What this woman describes is nothing less than the systematic propagandizing and subversion of America on a systemic level. And this infiltration has been underway in America for generations. Is there any wonder why our children of the past two generations have grown up hating their country? Is it any wonder why apologists and global charismatics like Barack Obama have succeeded in duping the masses in America?
