Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.
The teacher asked the pupils to tell the meaning of loving-kindness. A little boy jumped up and said, “Well, if I was hungry and someone gave me a piece of bread that would be kindness. But if they put a little jam on it, that would be loving-kindness.” (Sparks)
Most of us would give the necessities to a starving person, though sometimes even grudgingly. Yet there are others who go beyond the meeting of needs to putting the extra touch of compassion on the gift. 2 Peter 1:5-8 tells us to,
“And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”Let us be the jam on someone’s bread today.
May God bless and keep you today.
