Disect the Puritan Catechism shall we?
Question 1: What is the chief end of man?
Answer: Man's chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him for ever.
Now why with Man must we begin? Such a frail creature is he. For with God alone should we start. Suggestion have I as what Question 1 should be.
What is the chief purpose of God?
Answer: The chief purpose of God is to reveal His Glory, and to relish the Glory eternally.
To start with Man is to step up to the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and to taste it's tempting fruit. This is lesson #1 for the human who wishes to find truth for life. All other direction leads to pride and pride leads to a great fall. Many lie at the wretched bottom of prides cavern.
