Vetrans Day, November 11, 2005, USA

For one moment on this day
take a little time to pause,
to pray,
to say,
"Thank you."

Not all can go
thankfully, not all should go...nor need go,
But there are those who will...who do...and have gone.
And some are gone...
forever.

For you...the forever gone...I cheer...
I weep.
I felt your heart...beat its last.
That dreadful final whimper.......

Sullen face now pale
so brave and unafraid to fear.
Salute you do I.
But, lift up your head
we remember
we cheer
we are still free.

May you truly rest now
our children play.
