Yahweh, Day 85
Day 85, Yahweh: Not
"Co-Dependent"
2Kings 5:11 (Holman Christian
Standard Bible)
“But Naaman got angry and left,
saying, ‘I was telling myself: He will surely come out, stand and call on the
name of Yahweh his God, and will wave his hand over the spot and cure the skin
disease.’”
The person plagued with
co-dependency allows their perceived state of happiness to be determined by
another person that is usually a wretched individual.
It is usually a son or a
daughter, husband or wife, or some significant person in their life. The wretched person finds myriads of ways of
convincing the person that truly cares about them that if the person who cares
would just give them one more break then the wretched person's life would be
changed.
And this is repeated over,
and over, and over again ... slowly destroying the life of the dear soul that
is always trying to rescue the wretch ... to the point that the rescuer's sense
of self-worth and personal value becomes totally consumed in the madness of
trying to make the wretch ... whole.
Yahweh is not co-dependent on
any man or woman ... and the servant of God must understand this lest they fall
into the trap of making their service to Yahweh a total disaster of
co-dependent guilting and ascribing their own worth to the assistance and
deliverance of some wretch who will do all in their power to drag you down the
same road of insanity.
Yahweh's movement to rescue
wretched humanity was not based on a personal need of discovering wholeness
through the deliverance of any creature ... Yahweh moved on humanity's behalf
... simply because Yahweh is ... whole.
It's in The Name.
Intercessory Prayer: Dear Father, thank you for Your wisdom and
power. Power to save and deliver. Wisdom to know when to let us go our own way
… receiving the full consequence of our wretched actions. For Your Name’s sake. In Jesus Name. Amen.
