Daily Nugget
Today's cherished nugget from guest blogger, Pastor Bill.
“Very soon, all of us will be living in the electronic
village hooked up to a huge computer, and we will be able to know what
everybody else in the world thinks. The majority opinion will become law in
that hour” (Francis August Schaeffer, 1912–1984).
I dare say we are in that hour, or very near. We see our
politicians' values change daily, based on which way the winds of the polls
blow. I also believe it is not necessarily the majority, but the loudest group
even--if they are a minority--that moves the polls. Don’t you long for the return of the days of
integrity when you knew day in and day out what a certain man or woman stood
for?
The writer of Matthew 5:37 records these words of Jesus,
words that we need to be reminded of today and remember tomorrow: “But let your
communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh
of evil.”
God, thank You for being consistent and not changing
because of the polls. Amen.
