Today's cherished nugget from guest blogger, Pastor Bill.
“Back of the loaf is the snowy flour, And back of the
flour the mill, And back of the mill is the wheat and the shower, And the sun
and the Father’s will” (Maltbie D. Babcock 1858–1901).
We easily forget where our provisions come from when we
have a refrigerator, a freezer, and cabinets full of food. In fact, too many
times, we have such excess that we are bored with what we have. As a result, many times we dump our excess
into trash barrels. How quickly that
attitude has changed in Japan and in other parts of the world as tragedy has
shaken their security.
We must remember to pray as Jesus taught His disciples
(and us) in Matthew 6:9-13: “Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy
name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us
this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: for Thine is the
kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."
God, give us this day our daily bread.Thank You for the
daily provision You send to us. Amen.
