Daily Nugget

Sunday, July 10th, 2011.

Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

"A pat on the back is only a few vertebrae removed from a kick in the pants, but it is miles ahead in results."
(Ella Wheeler Wilcox)

To be an encourager has a greater influence than that of being a tyrant. On more than one occasion, Abraham Lincoln chose to praise what was right in the opinions of his generals rather than administer the scathing criticism they sometimes deserved. The impact had profound effects on the history we know today. The apostle Paul wrote this message in 1 Thessalonians 5:11:
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up as you are already doing.”
This is also something many of us are doing today, and in these tough times, we need to be doing what we can to encourage others in good works.

"God, thank You for friends and others who encourage us. Help us to strengthen and encourage others.
Amen."
