Yahweh, Day 18

Day 18 Yahweh... The Liberator

Exodus 6:6 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
"I am Yahweh, and I will deliver you from the forced labor of the Egyptians and free you from slavery to them."

Why do tyrants fear the God of the Bible?  It is exactly here.  First ... Yahweh is free. (Consider and ponder this a moment.)  Second... Yahweh desires His people free.

This is the heritage and foundation of the concept of a democratic republic. The citizens are able to govern themselves instead of being governed by a monarch ... by what ever name we might use ... king, dictator, despot, oligarchy ... in practical terms we call this self government.  In spiritual terms this is surrender to Jesus as King of one's life.

Fallen humanity is always longing for the Benevolent Dictator ... though it is a futile search outside of Yahweh.  Yahweh wants us free ... but many fear freedom for it comes with personal responsibility.  For the masses ... easier to be governed that to govern one's self.

For the veterans who served for the sake of freedom ... just know that yours is a Godly heritage ... that is enough.

Intercessory Prayer: Oh Father!  Thank You for being the God of Freedom!  Thank You for placing in the heart of every human being a hunger for freedom and personal responsibility!  Thank You for placing that hunger in our hearts, for it is the Divine Spark that resides in the heart and soul of each of us.  And may we learn and know that the great goal of freedom … is the burning zeal of the human soul … to serve You and You alone … for Your Glory!  This I pray in Jesus Name.  Amen.
