Yahweh, Day 16

Day 16 Yahweh... Seeking

Exodus 6:2-3 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
Then God spoke to Moses, telling him, "I am Yahweh. I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as God Almighty, but I did not make My name Yahweh known to them."

Story is told from the Buddhist religion about a monk who was walking down a path one day. He suddenly became frantic when he saw an ox drawn plow guided by a farmer that was headed toward an ant hill.  The great burden of the monk was for the coming destruction that the ants were about to experience when the blade of the plow was to rip through the anthill.

The terrified monk could just imagine the destruction and devastation that the ants were sure to experience ... hundreds would be crushed to death ... hundreds more wounded ... mayhem and fear was about to come crashing through their colony ... their lives would never be the same!  The monk quickly ran to the ant hill and began screaming at the top of his lungs, "Flee for your lives ... your world is about to be destroyed ... Flee ... Flee ... flee for your lives!!!"

The response from the ants was ... nothing.  They casually went on their way doing business as usual ... then suddenly ... the plow blade came crashing right through the middle of the ant hill.  The monk's worst fears came true ... devastation to the ants and their community.

Later ... during heart-broken reflection about what the monk could have possibly done more to warn the ants of their impending doom the monk came to a moment of enlightenment ... to communicate effectively with the ants he would have to become an ant himself …the only problem is that monks can't become ants.

Yahweh called out to Moses. Yahweh sees the impending doom.  Yahweh cares.  Yahweh is calling out to you today.

Intercessory Prayer: Oh Father!  You have spoken to us!  For generations You have called out to us and we have often refused to listen and heed Your Words of life.  Oh Father!  Give us ears to hear and give us eyes to see … the glory of Your Name … and the honor we carry in that we can hear … and know … the God of creation.  This I ask for the honor of Your Name.  In Jesus Name.
