Yahweh, Day 108

Day 108,  Yahweh: One Factor of Christ's Greatness

“Yahweh is great and is highly praised; His greatness is unsearchable.”
Psalm 145:3 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
One aspect of God's Greatness was revealed in Jesus.  Consider the following statement about our Lord and Savior...
“Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities...”
Hebrews 4:14-15 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
The Greek word translated as "touched" is the word we derive our word "sympathy" from.  The Great reality being stated about Christ in comparing His Greatness over that of earthly priests is that Jesus is in fact literally "touched" by our infirmities ... our hurts ... our sorrows ... our pains.
The High Priest could not say that they actually felt the peoples infirmities ... as a matter of fact ... no human can literally feel the sorrows, hurts, etc. of another human ... but Jesus does.  Through common experiences we can "relate" in our own way to another persons sorrows ... but we can't literally feel them.
Our Great God does.
Intercessory Prayer:  Oh Father!  Thank You for being so near all our trials that You actually experience them with us.  What a wonderful Father You are!  In Jesus Name.  Amen.
