Daily Nugget

Saturday, January 24th, 2015. Today's cherished nugget from guest blogger, Pastor Bill.

When Rev. Newton heard an infidel say in jest, “I always spend the Sunday in settling my accounts,” that venerable minister turned around and said, in an accent of deep solemnity, “You may find, sir, that the day of judgment is to be spent in exactly the same manner.”

The writer of Deuteronomy 5:12-14 reminds us of the command of God:  “Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee. Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God.”

God invites us to join Him daily. He invites us especially on the Lord's day, which we now observe on the first day of the week. To honor Him with our first fruits, we must give Him ourselves.

God, I love You. Thank you for letting me worship You.  Amen.
Bro. Bill
