     Tuesday,  October 15th, 2013.  Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

"Forgiveness is a perfectly selfish act. It sets you free from the past"
(Brian Tracy).

With a statement like that, I wonder if the selfish will buy into forgiving and others into not forgiving in order not to be selfish. Whatever...if we won’t forgive others when we are asked to do so by Jesus, I seriously doubt that men’s or women’s words will move us to forgiveness. Jesus used several verses of Scripture to encourage us to forgive others. The Apostle Matthew shares Jesus' good advice: “For if ye forgive  men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses” (Matthew 6:14-15).

God, help me quickly to forgive others so that my fellowship with You be not hindered. Amen.
