Daily Nugget

Sunday,  October 13th, 2013.  Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

Will sucking on a copper penny fool a breathalyzer machine? The answer is "no"; the same answer is to sucking on a nickel as some urban legends lead you to believe. Rather than trying to live within the law, many people look for ways to try to fool the law. If these attempts were not true, we would not have a market for dozens of herbal remedies to fool alcohol and drug tests, or for that matter, a need for radar detectors.

A person gets to the point of trying to "fool" the enforcers of man’s laws because he has left off loving the laws of God and following His laws.  The Letter to the church of Ephesus reminds us: “But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise” (Ephesians 5:13-15).

God, help me to walk with integrity before You and my fellow man, reflecting Your light in my life in all that I say and do.  Amen.
