Daily Nugget

   Monday,  October 14th, 2013.  Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

"Children are a comfort to you in your old age—but like your IRA, it’s nowhere as much as you expected" (Unknown).

This statement does contain some humor, but it is a reminder that we are not to put our trust and treasure in things on this earth. We are to put our trust in God and lay up treasure in the eternity.

The writer of Matthew 6:19-21 reminds us with these words: “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

God, let me remember to keep my focus on You and Your kingdom. Amen
