Worn out slippers

Losing a child to death brings a myriad of emotions ...
.all complicated ... all different ... all difficult.
Silent Grief  speaks today about ... slippers....

When our entire world is shattered by the loss of a child, sometimes the only things that gets us through the moment are things that are familiar to us. The big oak tree in the front yard. The sun shining in the kitchen window. The worn out slippers that seem to hug our worn out, weary feet. The tattered sweatshirt that we wear to bed every night because every bone in our body aches from missing our child so much. These things make no demands on us. They don't criticize us. They have no super expectations of us. They are simply there and we need the warmth of something -- anything -- that is familiar to us because once child loss occurred we were thrown into a world that is cold and dark and lonely and ever so frightening! Thank God for the really little things in life that tend to our grieving hearts when nothing or nobody else can!

Father, Yahweh, I pray today for Silent Grief, and all who have lost a child. or a grandchild.  I pray that You will hold them as close to Your heart as You hold the child they love and lost.
 Father, bless them today.

xtnyoda, shalomed
