Daily Nugget

     Saturday, April 6th, 2013.  Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.
 “Any nation that thinks more of its ease and comfort than its freedom will soon lose its freedom; and the ironical thing about it is that it will lose its ease and comfort too” (William Somerset Maugham 1874–1965).

This quote was made in 1941 and was probably heeded at that point. The trouble today is we see we are up to our ears in the problem. The "me" generations of today (baby boomers on down) valued themselves and their comfort above freedom, both ours and others around the world and are now in power saying, “What happened?”

Freedom has never been free. It is always paid for by the blood of men and women who value freedom greater than life itself. May we find true freedom in The One (Jesus) Who makes us free indeed (John 8:36).

God, “Raise up a generation of Godly men and women who serve You faithfully and stand tall to bring our country back to a nation “Under God.” Amen.
