Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill

“Idolatry: trusting people, possessions, or positions to do for me what only God can do” (Bill Gothard).

What is your idol? Is it what you own? Is it your looks? Is it your hobby? Is it recreation? It can even be your responsibilities. Anything that is more important to us than our relationship with God is an idol. To serve the Lord, lay those idols down. Remember what the writer of Exodus 20:3 recorded that God said in the Ten Commandments: “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”

God, keep us aware when we pick up anything and put it before You. Amen
