Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill

“To deny self is to become a nonconformist. The Bible tells us not to be conformed to this world either physically or intellectually or spiritually.” (Billy Graham 1918–)

Self-denial is definitely not the way of the world. The worldly powers and principalities want you and me to join them. Only when we stand alone, can we make the world feel uncomfortable enough to question its values. In 1 Peter 2:9 we are reminded, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”

God, thank You for giving us the grace to follow You in forsaking the world.  Amen.
