“God does not comfort us to make us comfortable, but to make us comforters.” (John Henry Jowett 1817–1893)

The God of this universe sent the Holy Spirit to bring us comfort and to teach us how to reach out to others. The apostle Paul encourages us with these words: “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”

God, thank You for placing within us the capacity to bring comfort, joy, and companionship to others.  Amen.
