Yahweh: Working #2

Amos 9:6 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
“He builds His upper chambers in the heavens and lays the foundation of His vault on the earth.
He summons the waters of the sea and pours them out on the face of the earth.
Yahweh  is His name.”

With yesterday’s study there is one exception to God working by speaking, and that is when God came to earth through the incarnation, Jesus.

Through all the labors of man’s hands and sacrifices, man could never accomplish the righteousness of Holy Yahweh.  Jesus became man in order to do the work of salvation through the sacrifice of Himself, paying the penalty of sin.  Paul speaks of this “work” in Romans 5:8,9:

“But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us!  Much more then, since we have now been declared righteous by His blood, we will be saved through Him from wrath.” (HCSB)

Jesus, by the shedding of His blood secured righteousness for us, and if you will look closely, it was Christ’s blood that did the speaking.  Christ did the work, His blood did and does the speaking.
