Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill

A hotheaded woman told John Wesley, “My talent is to speak my mind.” Replied Mr. Wesley, “Woman, God wouldn’t care a bit if you would bury that talent.”

Many of the faults we consider our strong suits might be better laid to rest. Pride is one of the attributes many try to develop, yet the wise writer of Proverbs 16:18 reminds us, “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”

God, help me to lay aside those things that do not bring honor to You.  Amen.
