“The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother.”  (Theodore Hesburgh)

A happy, loving family is what every child needs. Too bad dads don’t give this gift to their children for Father’s Day. Think about the benefits we would see in our world if a happy, loving family was the goal of each dad. The writer of Ephesians 5:25 challenges us with these words: “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.” If we love our wives and families in the same manner Jesus loved, what an example for the next generation.

God, help me to follow that challenge personally. Amen.
