Yahweh's Presence. There is no greater blessing or reality.

Israel would have rather endured the direct chastening of Yahweh than to endure the scorn and plundering of man. And, why would that be?

Israel knew that there was an end to Yahweh's anger ... not so with man's arrogance and rage. With man ... rage and anger only leads to more of the same. Israel knew that Yahweh was a compassionate and forgiving God ... and God is not man ... nor is man a god.
