Day 159

Yahweh

Missional Import

""I, the Lord, have called you for a righteous [purpose], and I will hold you by your hand. I will keep you, and I make you a covenant for the people [and] a light to the nations, in order to open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the dungeon, [and] those sitting in darkness from the prison house...."
Isaiah 42:6-7 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

We are seeing Yahweh's passion for justice. Today we see the Heavenly description of our mission mandate... restoring sight to the blind, setting those in bondage free, and shining light in the darkest strongholds. This is expanded in Isaiah 61... then proclaimed and personalized by our Lord YahShau/Jesus in Luke's Gospel.
"The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to Him, and unrolling the scroll, He found the place where it was written: The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim freedom to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."
Luke 4:17-19 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

Our Messiah's mandate is our mandate. With just a moments reflection one will understand that only by the power of God's Grace at work in one's life will there be any hope of accomplishing God's mandate to work justice... and Yahweh said He would see it done through our lives... by His presence... by His Grace at work in and through us.

Take His hand.

This is in The Name.
