Thursday, November 11th, 2010. Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

A little girl, sent on an errand by her mother, took much too long in coming back; therefore, when she finally did return, her mother demanded an explanation. The little girl explained that on her way she had met a friend who was crying because she had broken her doll. “Oh,” said the mother, “then you stopped to help her fix her doll?” “Oh, no,” replied the little girl. “I stopped to help her cry.”

Sometimes when someone is hurting, we miss the point. While we have a tendency to want to "fix" it, the greater need is often just to have someone care how we feel and share that feeling with us. The Apostle Paul shares this challenge with us in Romans 12:15:
“Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.”

"God, let me be the friend my friends need.
Amen."

Thanks to all our Veterans out there! (And a word of thanks to Pastor Bill... himself a Veteran.

Bro. Bill

Our God is an awesome God.
