I don’t know what a scoundrel is like, but I know what a respectable man is like, and it’s enough to make one’s flesh creep (J. M. de Maistre).

To be more wicked than I could be is a scary thought. God’s Word says in Romans, “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (3:23). Knowing the final “home” of the wicked and the ultimate punishment of the sinner, I have no desire to find out how wicked I could become.

God, direct my paths that I might draw near to You. Amen.
