Daily Nugget

   Today's cherished nugget from guest blogger, Pastor Bill.

“A thoughtful mind . . . sees not the flag only, but the nation itself . . . the principles, the truths, the history” (Henry Ward Beecher (1813–1887).

Let us be mindful to pray for the leaders of our nation and for the decisions they make that change the legacy for our children and grandchildren.

In relation to that legacy, the apostle Paul shares this advice with us in 1Timothy 2:1-6: “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men, for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. or there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.”

God, thank You for our country and for the freedoms we enjoy. Keep me from taking this blessing for granted. Amen.
