  Today's cherished nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

When manufacturers first produced golf balls, they made the covers smooth. Then it was discovered that after a ball had been roughed up, one could get more distance out of it. So they started manufacturing them with dimpled covers.

So it is with life; it takes some rough spots in our life to make us go our farthest. In relation to coping with such rough spots, the writer of James 1:2-4 says, “Consider it a great joy, my brothers, whenever you experience various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. But endurance must do its complete work, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.”

God, thank You for our trials that bring us closer to You.  Amen.
